Sympathy, Braces, & Blog Candy!

Kind of a hodge podge post today...... : )
I am starting with a sympathy card I made a couple of months ago and never posted. Cortney's Occupational therapist's father passed away, so I made this card for her using SU!'s, From the Garden set. I embossed the image in gold and then tried my hand at watercoloring. This is definitely a medium I need to improve on! I added some pearls to the center and used the Spellbinder's tags for the sentiment. I did airbrush it a little to give the tag a bit of color. The gold cording is also from SU!

Kyle got his braces on the other day......so here is my official "teenager!" He is already claiming that he can tell his teeth are moving............yea, ok.

Don't forget to put your name in the "hat" for my blog candy! I think I forgot to mention when I would pull a name.......how about Thursday night? Let's say around 9 PM? Work for you? : ) Alrighty then!
Off to tackle the piles of laundry in my basement........*sigh*

This is such a beautiful card. I imagine that making a sympathy card would be challenging, since it can't be too over the top. I think you did a perfectly tasteful job. :o)

I mostly create with felts, fabrics and stitching, but I'm getting so interested in paper crafting!

Watercolor apprentice my eye! Your card is beautiful! Love the touch of gold ep and cording! Our kids are going through the braces thing too. You're good to keep up the blog! I'm not so good...especially since we've been back from our trip to Santa Barbara.

Oooooh braces! On days when he gets them tightened, have much sympathy! I use to main-line advil and ice cream on those days!

Such an elegant card...that stamp is huge!

Beautiful card!
it is just beautiful!
and isn't Kyle cute with his braces
just don't let him get green rubber bands - looks like food stuck in their teeth.
then again, boys like that sort of thing!

Kyle sure looks great with those braces! When I was a kid, I wore braces, too and during that time other kids would tease me. But I don't care coz' look at my teeth now. I can certainly show it off. Hahaha!! Well, I'm just so lucky that I live near the clinic of our trusted dentists. St Petersburg offers a number of great dental services and state of the art facilities. To top it all, we have highly trained St Petersburg dentists to help us with our dental concerns. Thanks for sharing this nice post Michele. Beautiful card, too! Kudos!
