Halloween!

For whatever reason, Halloween is my favorite holiday. Fall is the best time of the year. I know some people would prefer to live in Arizona or Florida, where it is sunny and beautiful all the time...but I like the change of seasons! Plus, I like fall clothes a lot more than the skin baring summer clothes! Don't get me wrong, I love summer....BBQ's, swimming and such, it's just something about the smell of fall air, candles burning, cozy evenings inside, burning leaves, actually using an oven to cook.....

So anyway, back to this card, I used Martha Stewart paper, bat punch, black glitter, and fence stamp. I used SU! stencil for the clouds and the moon. I think it is fairly self explanatory! Have a great day...(My first day back at work....sigh...)

Summer is coming to an end.....

Well it is official....my summer vacation has come to an end! I've been busy setting up my classroom and winding up for next week! So as a last hurrah, I made a summer card! (It kinda looks like me in a swimsuit! LOL! )The image is from Great Impressions. I colored her using my Prismas and Gamsol. I added real sand to the beach and made the sun out of a button, rhinestones and ribbon. The paper is from Junkitz Salsa collection.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Quick Post...I am roller coasted OUT!

This is a card I created with the ATC I made for a swap. (Laura from Lu La's Corner). I actually made this awhile ago and forgot to post it! It was made using a Lockhart stamp. I used my Prismas and then sprayed the entire image with Glimmer mist. If you click on the picture you can see the glitter it leaves....very subtle! The background was from the Polka dots and Paisley set. The paper...not sure...too tired to think!

Well as I mentioned yesterday...we went to Great America today! My son is now 54 inches tall and can ride ALL the coasters! We went on alllll of them! It was great because the park was pretty empty. We went on Superman twice...that was a strangely fascinating ride! I screamed my lungs out...if you are not familiar with it...you are parallel to the ground...like you are flying! We also rode Virtual Velocity, Batman, Iron Wolf and lots of others! My feet are killing me and I can actually smell myself....not a good sign...so off to the showers I go! Then to bed.....

I got my Daily Dose of Spazz...in person!

I have been on quite a journey since starting this whole blogging thing. I have met some terrific women. One of them is Simone over at Daily Dose of Spazz. If you haven't been to her blog...you must go there now! (After you read what I have posted that is!) She is such a witty and funny gal! Simone and "The Kid" came over in the evening for a BBQ and swimming. Unfortunately we did get some rain, so the kids swam in between the rain drops. I served this really exquisite meal of Bubba Burgers and potato salad......And of course some ice cold beer! We talked and laughed and had a good time.....hopefully Simone did too!
This is just a quick card I made for fall. The set is by SU! and is called Basket Full of Fun. I used Prismas and Gamsol to color the image. The rest of the card is pretty self explanatory...so I will
leave it at that! I am pretty tired...going to Great America tomorrow too! So I need to go get my beauty rest!

Bitten by the Bug's Apple Challenge!

This is a card I made for Bitten By the Bug's Apple Challenge. The apple can be found on Cricut's Doodlecharm's cartridge. I used Purely Pomegranate for the apple. I stamped the sky blue paper with my alphabet background stamp. The black "school" paper is like a thousand years ago and is from Provo Craft. Remember the paper Michaels had forever? This was from there! I know some of you still have it tucked away in your stash somewhere....fess up! Anyway, I did sand it down to tone it down a bit, because it was pretty glossy! The little caterpillar ( I know it isn't a worm...but close enough!) was from Hambo Stamps. I colored him in using my Prismas and Gamsol. The sticker was from an old sticker pack I had from DCWV.

I feel like a complete idiot, cuz I was nominated for the Nice Matters award and the Thinking Blogger award by Kelly Sampson and Kim Burress. I can't get the awards to post. I saved them in my pics file....I can see them there....but when I try to download them....I get a little box with the x in it. If you have any advice...please share. So thank you ladies for nominating me....I feel truly blessed to be in such great company! I think the world of you!

My last week before going back to work! Boo hoo!

I just bought this All in the Family set from SU! with hopes that I could make some family plaques for Christmas presents. I struggled A LOT with this card. I stamped the clouds 3 separate times, stamped the little girl twice. Wasn't sure I really liked the flowers.....But after playing, redoing, restamping, and repositioning a thousand times....I guess it came out OK. I used some of my new paper, River Rock, Sky Blue, and Purely Pomegranate. The sentiment was from Michael's dollar bin. I went over it with Sakura's gelly roll glitter pen. The ribbon as usual was from my stash and have no idea who made it!

This is my last week off....then I am off to change 26 5th graders' lives! I will be busy this week setting up my classroom and such. It will be much busier for me! I am hoping to post as often, but not sure....we will have to see!

PUG LOVE! and some tasty blog candy!

Michelle Weaver, Princess Matilda Loves to Stamp, sent me these cute Pug images, knowing I had a Pug named Bruno. I colored him in using my PRisma colored pencils and Gamsol. I looked at Bruno's picture to try and reproduce his coloring. He has a black face, which is a challenge, because when you are coloring you risk "losing" his eyes and nose! So I colored his snout a dark grey leaving some lighter shades. I used a little crystal effects on his nose. (Dogs' noses are supposed to be wet right?) I had this cute dog bone paper and just kept layering. I used the Fiskars rub on plates for the little paw prints. I used my scalloped heart punch on a shrinky dink and colored the back of it for color. IT actually looks better in person, it is a bit dark in the picture. I added some SU! hardware and a ribbon. Well Michelle, I hope I did this image justice! I sure tried! Thanks!

Since I am on a Pug kick I thought I would share this Layout with you. This is Bruno. I took these pics outside during the summer and thought they came out pretty well. The paper is Daisy D's, Creative Imaginations (I told you I use this paper A LOT!) . I used some Heidi Swapp tape and a Wild Asparagus title The paw prints were done with flock. His name is spelled out with some old chipboard from Lil Davis. See the tiny print of Bruno enclosed in the B? I had that done at a cool place on line called Moo Prints. Ever heard of it? They make tiny pics about the size of a microscope slide. They make 100 of these in a cute little box for $19.99. (You can choose 100 different pics!)
And last but not least, I won blog candy from Joslyn from, Here is What I Do. She is an amazing photographer and paper crafter. Check her blog out! Thank you so much Joslyn! I love everything! I even used the hardware on the Pug card above!
