Trick or Treat

My crafting has taken me to fall projects but it is still in the 90's here in Chicago! I love me some summer, but I love me some fall even more.  I look forward to the cooler temperatures, fall clothes, pumpkin spice, and Halloween!
I have a card today that was a result of some experimenting with different techniques.  For the background I used Whimsy Stamp's Broken Web Embossing Folder.  I inked up the paper using Tim Holtz Distress Oxides in Prize Ribbon and Salvaged Patina.  Then I rubbed the Prize Ribbon ink directly on the embossing folder and ran it through my machine.  I loved how it gave it more interest and depth.  I inked up another piece of card stock using Salvaged Patina and stamped the new Trick or Treat stamp set in Versamark and embossed it in black.  I added grit paste and crackle paste to the edges of the sentiment. Once it was dry I rubbed brown ink over the edges.
I think the combo of the grit paste and texture paste are so cool! The spiders are from the Spiders and Webs Die set.   I added the filigree corners from the ATC Book Die Set.  They were given a coating of crackle paste too.  For a finishing touch I added some tulle and an old tea stained tag.

Be sure to check Whimsy Stamps to see all of the new releases! They are so much fun!

Trick or Treat!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today!
I have a card to share with you using some fun new Halloween dies and stamps from Whimsy!
I created my background first using Tim Holtz Oxide Inks in Black Soot, Seedless Preserves, and Salty Ocean.  I spritzed it with a bit of water and blotted it with a paper towel. I used the new Haunted Graveyard Border die with black paper and adhered it to the bottom of my card, cutting any excess off.
I added a large spiderweb and matching spider from the Spiders and Webs Die set.  I added a coating of glossy accents to the spider and white gel pen highlight. I stamped the sentiment from the Trick or Treat House stamp set, directly on the moon with Versarmark ink and embossed it in black. I tucked it behind the border and added a pumpkin sequin from the Creepy Sparkletz collection.  I adhered a few rhinestones for a finishing touch.

If you love Halloween, Whimsy Stamps is the place to check out!!

Stamptember!

Did you know...... this is the 12th Anniversary of STAMPtember and it's bigger and better than ever!

I had the pleasure of working with a fun new stamp set called, Just Chicken In! Can it get any cuter than this? The images were colored with Copics and paired with Whimsy Stamp's Slimline Chicken Coop Die set. It was so much fun layering each of the pieces!

I cut apart the sentiment and added a few hearts from the Sweetheart Sparkletz collection.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Whimsy Stamp's Spooky Release!

It is September 10th, which means two things, one it is my 50th birthday! and two, it is Whimsy Stamp's new release!  ( I think I am more excited about the release! LOL)  I love the new ATC Book die display.  I decided to make it a box for Halloween treats though instead.  I gave it a good splattering of black paint to distress it a bit.  For the front I stamped and embossed the new Trick or Treat Stamp in blood red.
For the edges I spread some grit paste to give it an old worn out look.  The spider is from the previously released Spiders and Die set.  I gave it a coating of glossy accents for added dimension.  I adhered everything with Crafty Foam tape.

You won't want to miss the rest of the release! Be sure to pop by Whimsy Stamps to see it all!
Have a great day!

Dream

Happy Labor Day Weekend to you!
I have a card to share with you that is a bit different than I usually make.  I am not sure why, but I was in the mood to play and get grungy.  I wanted a different take on Whimsy Stamp's FaDoodle Rainbows. I stamped each section and used my Karin Brushmarkers to water color.  I cut out each section. Once dry I gave it a splatter of black and white paint.  The background was water colored using Tim Holtz inks in Kitch Flamingo, Wild Honey, and Mustard. Once that was dry I gave it a splatter of black paint.  I used the Sun Rays Stencil and Crackle Texture paste over it. I pulled out my very dusty sewing machine to add a zig zag stitch.
Everything was mounted with Crafty Foam Tape.  I added a piece of doily behind the rainbow, glitter to the clouds, and a few stars.   I stamped the sentiment and added a teeny heart from the Sweetheart Sprinkletz collection.
It was fun to do something a bit different every now and then...take a step out of your comfort zone so to speak!
I am heading downtown today to pick up Cortney for a swim party. Can't wait to give my girl a hug today! Have a great day friends!

I added hot pink tulle, orange twine, and a pearl to the center of the bow.  The sentiment was added using Crafty Foam Tape.

Shaker Card!

Good morning! I am officially back for my 24th year of teaching!
It's already been a crazy start to the school year. Bus shortages, students transferring to our school in droves, and still dealing with Pandemic issues.  It will be another interesting year for sure!
My card today is part of the Whimsy Stamp's August release.  It uses the Space Ships Die Set.
I first water colored some paper in shades of yellows and oranges. And a second piece in blues and greens.  Once dry, I ran it through my die cutting machine.
I created the shaker portion of the card using the new Revealers 3 Die Set.  (The same set I used to create my pizza in my previous post.) I used the Slimline paper, Nebula. I used the packaging material from my stamps to create a shaker.  I added Starry Skies Sparkletz
Thank you so  much for stopping by today!
Check out Whimsy Stamps for the full release!
