Good morning to you! It is a beautiful sunny morning.......but unfortunately, the temperatures are supposed to climb near 100 today. We have no air conditioning in the class rooms.....so needless to say, it gets a bit uncomfortable with 24 other little bodies in the room!
JustRite's Day Two of new releases is showing off this fun, nautical set, called You are My Anchor! Immediately, I thought it would be great for masculine cards....but if you visit the other designers, some of them have made beautiful feminine cards as well!
For my card I created a boat shaped card using my Gypsy to weld the image together, the Boys Will be Boys cartridge, and my Cricut machine. The boat was cut at 5". I used all the layers functions with some Graphic 45 papers. I used a bit of vintage lace to add a some texture. For my sentiment, I stamped it in black. The rope and anchor were colored with Copic markers. I cut the sentiment out using two Spellbinder's circle dies. The top layer was hand cut and placed on dimensional foam squares to add depth. I added crackle accents to the anchor to give it a distressed aged look.
I hung the anchor from a bit of Papertrey Twine, tied a bow, and placed a gold pearl in the center. I added tiny gold pearls to the flag as well.

What a great card!! I love the way you welded the shapes together to make a shaped card. The crackle technique is great too! TFS. All the best ~ LuLu
Wow that is cute!
Love the card. I hope school is out for you soon. We have been out for 2 days now. 100 is way too hot for no A/C.....they really should cancel.
What a great idea for a shaped card! I love all the embellishments and techniques you used on it.
