Are you ready for more fun with JustRite and Faber Castell?
I have a card to share with you today that totally has the spring vibe.....I'm hoping to spread some hints to Mother Nature! ;) I am sneak peeking a new set called Floral Thank you that is coming out in April by JustRite. I used a direct to rubber method using Stamper's Big Brush Pens from Faber Castell. I used Cobalt Blue, Light Blue, May Green, and Chrome Yellow.
I love adding interest to my cards, and creating a tile look was just what I was looking for.
I have a step by step tutorial on how I created the above card. But please be for-warned that some of my pictures depict me as a non-manicured, messy, inky, gal who really needs to clean her Versamark pads once in awhile!
First you will need Faber Castell's markers. Just color your stamp with the markers. Give it a few good huffs to remoisten the ink and stamp your image.
Cut the image into 1 inch squares and ink the edges of each square. ( I used Memento ink in brown)
Yep, there is the messy Versamark and dirty hands. ;) Get each square "Versamarked" and sprinkle clear embossing powder over it. If you use a fine embossing powder you may have to repeat this step about 3 times for each square. If you happen to have ultra thick embossing powder it can be done in one step. Heat it up and watch the magic happen!
Glue your squares onto a background paper of your choice. While it is drying, I suggest laying a heavy book or lots of scrapbook paper on top so the ends lay flat.

I like the textures in this piece.
Love the detail in the stamping using the medium direct to stamp, it's often too blurry for me, but those pens seemed to have done the job well (and the input you had of course lol!). The tiles are a fabulous way to add some dimension. Thanks for the inspiration! Maddy x

I am half way through my card.... have a question... after making the cardstock "tiles", are they adhered to chipboard or multiple layers of cardstock to give them that actual thick tile look? The instructions posted don't take us to the very end of the tutorial.
I love this idea and can't wait to use it. I'll be doing Christmas cards next week and I'm trying this for sure. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
