JustRite's November Release-Shoes Vintage Labels Six!

Good morning to you my friends!
Once again we are starting a brand new month, and that means I get to share new releases from JustRite!
Today's set is a beautiful vintage inspired set called, Shoes Vintage Labels Six.
I decided to stamp the shoe and flowers in Versamark and emboss them in white.  I pulled out my Inktense pencils and colored them.  I love the pretty water colored effect it gives.
I added a touch of lace at the top of the shoe and hand cut each flower and leaf.
I stamped the sentiment and used a round circle punch.  I adhered it to the shoe, added a bit of white string, and a final flower in the middle of the bow.
The background was stamped using the frame twice.  I overlapped them in the center and gave them a subtle touch of pink to the inside of the frames with a Copic marker.
I added glittery American Crafts tape to the center and a scattering of sequins as a final touch.

Be sure to stop by the other designers' blogs! They continually amaze me with their talent and creativity!

Halloween Greetings!

Well I wasn't going to post today, but last night I had to run to Target for some candy and came across these cute little soap dispensers.  I like purchasing little things for Cortney's teachers and aides in the class room.
But to make it a bit more personal I took the Target tag off and created my own.
I used the Jolly Halloween Stamp set from Crafty Secrets.  I loved the sly cat sitting on the pumpkin and the super cute font used in the sentiment. I gave the cat a bit more color with Copic Markers. I used a glittery spica pen for a bit of sparkle.
A few black sequins were added and then tied with a sheer polka dot ribbon to finish it off.
Cortney is so excited to give these to her teachers at school!
It has been raining nonstop since last night........I still keep hoping that maybe somehow we will get a break this evening.
Cort will be so disappointed if she can't trick or treat. :(
So do a little rain dance today to make the rain go AWAY, okay?
I would really appreciate it! ;)
Have a happy.....and hopefully dry Halloween!

Eek!

Can you believe that tomorrow is Halloween already?
Seriously, the time just zips by at such a fast pace that some days it's hard to keep up!
The weather men are calling for rain tomorrow.  Lots of it.
I am hoping they are wrong so my little gypsy can go trick or treating.

I have a card today that uses an adorable vintage image from Crafty Secrets.  I added a bit of sparkle to her hat with a Spica pen. The designer paper is also from the Crafty Secrets Halloween Digital collection. I love that I can print it smaller, so the design is smaller to match the size of my card.
For a fun embellishment I strung a few alphabet beads to spell the word EEK! A bit of seam binding, black pom pom trim,  and a couple of lime green jingle bells finish the card.
Do you dress up for Halloween?
I would love to know what you are dressing up as!

Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Bon Voyage!

I wish I could tell you I was traveling somewhere, but I am not. (darn!)
But I do have a card that celebrates retirement, a long awaited trip,  or a new pathway in life.  My card uses my Cricut and the New England Shore Cricut Craft Room Exclusive. I layered the lighthouse using dimensional foam circles and added glossy accents to the windows. The background was masked with cloud die cuts and sprayed with a Copic marker.
I added pops of red with twine, machine stitching, and my sentiment from Papertrey Ink.
It is Monday.....again........
Amazing how fast the weekends go!
Off to mold some young minds!
Have a great day!

Something About Fall......

With Halloween approaching next week, the time change coming soon, the colder temperatures, it can only mean one thing.......fall has definitely arrived.
As much as I love summer, there is something about fall that I absolutely love.
There is a coziness to this time of year.
I concentrate more on my house.....almost like an expectant mother who is "nesting."
I relish my big bulky sweaters and my cups of coffee.
I love the smell of the furnace when it kicks on for the first time all season.
My crafts start to gear now towards the holidays.
Halloween for me becomes the "kick off" to the holidays.
Such a fun time of year!
I know some may ask how this card was made.
It was cut with the Cricut machine.
But I made it about a year ago and never posted it here. So ask me if I remember what cartridge I used.
Because this forgetful lady can't remember. ;)
But hopefully you can still be inspired by it....
I am batting a thousand this week....
No giveaway yet...
Can't remember the name of the cartridge I used....
Sheesh!
Good thing it is Friday!
;)
Thanks for putting up with my nonsense!

Open if You Dare!

How about a cool coffin box to enclose those sweet treats for Halloween?
My box was featured in Northridge Publishing's Cricut Magazine. (October 2012)
I adore this cut from the Happy Hauntings cartridge! I cut it at 5 inches to be sure it was large enough to store candy inside.
Instead of the traditional Halloween characters....ghosts, witches etc, I decided to go with this lil' mouse. I am not really a fan of "scary" Halloween....I really prefer the "cutesy" Halloween. (I'm kind of a wimp that way! LOL!)
He's a cute mouse complete with a purple sparkly hat.
I added an orange satin ribbon complete with a purple rhinestone.
I also added a sentiment from My Craft Spot on a tag cut from the Close to my Heart Art Philosophy cartridge.
I wanted the moon to be behind him, so I cut a circle with the Cricut Craft Room Basics. I added glossy accents and glitter......because we all know that moons should sparkle. ;)
And I had to share pictures of my two furry monsters.
My lil' devil, Skippers.
And....Myla the angel......most of the time! ;)
That's it for me today!
Have a great day my friends!!

An Apology.....

I have to start this post off with an apology.  I told you I would be hosting a giveaway this weekend.
And I didn't.  I couldn't for the life of me get my act together.
I was preoccupied with "house" stuff, "kid" stuff, and "school" stuff. The weekend came and went, and I suddenly realized I hadn't posted what I said I would post.
I am still planning on a giveaway, but I need to take pics of what I have, and get it uploaded here.
So I apologize for once again being a huge slacker!

I do however have a card to share with you today.
I colored it with my beloved Inktense pencils.
I added a rolled flower and several miniature flowers in my stash. I backed the image with several Spellbinder's dies. (Circle, Scalloped circle, and Pinking Shear).
I added a pink doily cut using a Papertrey Ink die.
As a finishing touch, sequins, and a tulle bow were added.
Here is a bit of what I was up to this weekend.
I had these glass cabinets that were dark.
No one could see the dishes in there unless it was a bright sunny day.
My husband and I replaced the wooden shelves with glass ones. We then installed lights.
I added pretty yellow fabric to the back and voila!
Now it's a cabinet that makes a statement instead of hiding in the weeds!
Thank you for putting up with me!
:)
