Using Negative Space With SRM Stickers!

Good morning!  I am up on the SRM Blog today with a card that was inspired by Jennifer McGuire.  She had a video HERE that showed how to use negative space from a die cut.  I loved it so much I decided to give it a try!  It took a little bit of time to cut the image 6 times and carefully stack them up to give them the dimension that makes them really stand out. 

I colored the top layer with Copics and gave them a coating of glossy accents.  I die cut a flower, colored it, and gave it the same layer of glossy accents. 

I die cut the circle and added SRM's Life is Good Sticker collection as the focal point.  I adhered the flowers around the sentiment and glued on a few pearls and rhinestones. 

In a bit, Cortney and I leave for the hospital.  Prayers are appreciated that it all goes well!!

Fun Shaker Card!

Good morning!  I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog with a fun shaker card! 

I borrowed this cute stamp from my Mother in Law.  I believe it is a Stampin' Up! set.  I colored it using Copic markers.  I added a few details with a white gel pen. 

I cut the image with two Spellbinder's rectangle dies.  I adhered my acetate to the back  and built it up using Crafty Foam tape. I added my sequins and adhered the main image behind it. The entire shaker was adhered to Lawn Fawn's plaid paper.  I tied satin string at the top and thought it would be fun to add 3 teeny pom poms to the center.  I used Dodz to adhere them. 

My sweet girl comes home for a week today.  Tomorrow she is having an MRI and a 24 hour EEG to check her seizure activity.  She has been on Depakote most of her life and unfortunately it is hard on the liver and detrimental to her bones.  (she already has osteopenia) So we are hoping that if her seizures have stopped (she hasn't had one in over 5 years) that we may be able to pull her off her medication.  We will be spending the night at the hospital.  Prayers are appreciated!

No Line Coloring!

Good morning and TGIF! 

I've seen a lot of no line coloring lately and decided to try my hand at it.  I scrounged around my craft desk and could NOT find my light grey ink, so I had to settle for a light brown instead.  Not ideal, but I think it worked okay.  

This cute penguin is from MFT's Penguin in Paradise set.  (Can you say addicted?) 

He was colored with Copic markers. 

I layered him over several die cuts (Spellbinders) and I added a bit of ribbon and sequins to finish the card off. I really enjoyed this technique and am creating a few more cards using it!

Birthday Box!

Good morning!  I am a day late (shocker, I know!) posting this.  I was up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog with this little number. My Silhouette was getting a bit dusty and I decided it was high time to dust it off and create with it again!

Who couldn't use a little birthday box?

I used Scrapbook Adhesives 1/2" double sided tape to add glitter underneath the birthday sentiment.  I also added a 1/2" strip and 1/4" strip along side the sentiment and sprinkled it with blue and clear glitter. I LOVE this stuff! So easy to use and adhere the glitter without the mess of glue. 

The flowers and leaves were cut using the Silhouette as well and were adhered using Dodz Medium Adhesive Dots. 

I also added a few sequins and rhinestones to finish off the box.  I used Dodz Micro Adhesive dots for those.

Now all I need is gift card or jewelry to go inside the box!

Pencils on Kraft Paper

Good morning! I have a card up on the SRM Blog using the new Heaven & Earth stamp set.  I stamped the clouds, mountains, and sentiment in Versamark ink and embossed it in white.  I filled in the mountain tops using a Reminisce white gel pen.  With colored pencils I gave the clouds and mountains color. I LOVE the look of colored pencils on kraft paper.

I wanted the sun to peek out from under the clouds, so I drew my own in.  I adhered a gold together sticker. under the word rejoice.  I tied twine to the top and glued a small gold heart to its center.

My Left Over Penguin!

TGIF! I am heading out to Geneva, IL to shop and eat with my girlfriends. It has become a yearly tradition and one that I look forward to! As you know, I have been totally addicted to Suzy Plantamura's cute images! When I don't know what to create, I just pull one of these babies out and BAM! I have an instant card! I used Copics and a white gel pen. 

See that cute little penguin?  I had originally stamped him for yesterday's card, but then felt he was too big.  He was sitting on my desk while coloring this card, with his sad puppy dog penguin eyes, just begging to be used.  So I thought to myself, "Self, wouldn't he look cute sitting inside the sand bucket?"  And yes, indeed he does! ;)

This Penguin Needs Sunscreen!

This little guy needs to watch out! His belly is getting a bit pink! 

I adore this stamp set from My Favorite Things!  It is called Penguins in Paradise.  He does look like he's living it up, doesn't he? ;)

Everything was colored with copics.  The "sand" portion was done with a floral stencil I had and various shades of yellow, orange, and pink Tim Holtz inks. 

I usually do your "normal" sand but wanted to jazz it up a bit.  I think it worked pretty well! 

I lined up the sentiment using my Mini Misti and then added some seed beads and sequins to finish off the card.   

No sun here today.  Storms rolled in last night and apparently they are here to stay throughout the day.

*sigh* Guess that just means I'll have to craft...... ;)
