Crafty Secrets! And...Thank you Simone!
I bought some paper pads from Crafty Secrets and love them! They are quick and easy...no stamping required! I added some sepia crystal lacquer to the card. I stamped my leaves on Shrinky Dinks and adhered with glue dots. I added a "trail" with hemp cord. I did some stitching with my sewing machine and used Basic Grey's Mellow paper!
I was lucky enough to spend last Saturday with some of my stamping/blogging girlfriends....(see post from Monday!) Simone from Daily Dose of Spazz surprised me with a birthday present I am so "blessed" to have met her! She is so witty and funny, and makes me laugh! I can't believe how incredibly generous she is....just look at all the awesome stuff ! She knows I love vintage things, so she bought me this Life's Journey paper, clips, brads, alterable box, and composition book! Thank you so much Simone! Can't wait to play with all my new goodies! I am so excited and am still amazed at the wonderful people I have met during this blogging adventure! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I'm crossing my fingers that nothing else breaks.....

Halloween is just around the corner!
I found this cute Frankenstein stamp in the dollar bin at Michaels. I bought a few other cute stamps for a buck that I will be posting later this week. I colored this guy in with my Copics. I used my Marvy punches and used the negative space in the black paper to frame the image. I used Making Memories paper and used my sewing machine......again! I am on a kick where everything has to be sewn! I stamped the Happy Halloween on a shrinky dink and tied it on the frame with Martha Stewart's floss. My day was a bit better.....nothing broke today! Still having my bowl of ice cream tonight though!

Crafty Secrets!
Have I told you lately that I love Crafty Secrets? They have the BEST stamps, paper, and other Vintagey stuff! I made this card using their paper pads. The DP is Basic Grey's Mellow paper. I added a tag behind the image and Heidi Swapp tape. I used my trusty sewing machine! I then added a button and photo anchor with some pretty fall like ribbon.
I had such an aggravating week so far! As many of you know I lost my muffler on Sunday. I did get it fixed yesterday for $260! Then my upstairs air conditioner went out, and on top of that my monitor on my computer is dead! How am I blogging you ask? I took my son's very small monitor and attached it to my computer! Then I found out that my insurance company has 60 days to decide if Cortney's wheelchair is "medically necessary." mmmmm....she has grown 10 inches in the last 2 years and gained 25 lbs.....and she has had this chair for 7 years! She desperately needs this chair, she looks absolutely ridiculous in the one she is in cuz it is waaay too small! I think I need a glass of wine....or a big bowl of ice cream!

Bitten by the Bug Challenge!
This week on Bitten by the Bug, we had to use the border option on the Walk in my Garden cartridge. I am in such a fall mood that I really wanted to use the leaves. I can't really decide if I am liking this card....I wasted tons of paper on this one! Boo hoo too since it was my good Basic Grey, Mellow paper! Anyhoo, I played around with this one for many hours....not days like some of my cards...but hours! I ended up using some old fern stamps and using my crackle medium over it. I used my Spellbinders die to cut and emboss...which by the way, is a little tricky! Maybe it is just me...but I have a really hard time embossing then cutting and making sure it is all lined up just the right way! Then....I added glitter! Anytime I don't like a card, I add glitter! I keep thinking that if I glitz it up a bit, I'll like it more. I don't know if the glitter really helped in this case : )

Busy Weekend!
I had such a super weekend! On Saturday, I went to my first TAC demonstration. Kim from Crafty Me was hosting it! Sharon from Dew Drop Inn, Simone from Daily Dose of Spazz, Joanne from Stamps 4 Sanity over at SCS, and my MIL, Lynda were all there. We had such a great time making Kim's cute cards and little candy tin! It was a lot of fun, and of course ordered tons of stuff....can't wait until I get my order!
Well, Thankfully my surprise from my hubby was not the Sybaris! He took me to a lovely dinner at Catch 35 and a play, "The Odd Couple." It was really funny! It was such a great night, just the two of us with no children.
I guess because I was feeling guilty for stamping all day and going to fancy dinners at night, that I felt Sunday should be a family day. Sooooo we decided to go apple picking in Indiana. On the way there, right on the border of Indiana and Illinois, we heard a really weird sound coming from under the van. Brian pulled over...and low and behold our muffler pipe had rusted through and was now dragging along the highway! The pipe is about 6 feet long, since we have a handicapped accessible van. What to do? Drive to the nearest Firestone and have the guy rig it up with a hanger! Did we let that deter us from going? NOPE! Still drove to Indiana, loud muffler and all! We had a great time apple picking. We got 3 bags of apples for a great price of $44.00! (I'm being a wee bit sarcastic!) After apple picking we left Hobart Indiana, and then went to my sister's house in Lockport for my Dad's birthday! It was another hour away! (Are we a tiny bit crazy? ) Everyone knew we were coming, way before we got there! Anyway, I am taking it to Midas in the morning, hoping that they can install a new muffler. All in all a great weekend....with just a tiny glitch!
