Watercolor on Black Paper

I've been in the mood lately to experiment and try new things.  Like water colored hearts stamped on black paper for example.  ;)  I used the Slimline Heart Border stamp set.  It was stamped with Versamark on black water color paper and embossed in gold.  I used Karin Metallic Brushmarkers and Kuretake water colors. I did the wet on wet technique to really blend and move the colors.  Once it was to my liking, I splattered it with a bit of gold, and white acrylic paint.
The colors are so rich and pretty in person! I added the thinking of you sentiment from the Slimline Heartbeats Die set.  I added a few gold sequins from the St. Patrick's Day Confetti Mix

Vintage Halloween

Happy Weekend!
So glad it is Saturday and I have a couple of days of to decompress.
Teaching school this year is pretty interesting. Still Zooming, still teaching some kids in person and some at home. Crazy times we live in.
Thank goodness for family and stamping.  ;)
I used the FaDoodle Fall stamp in waterproof ink on water color paper. I used Karin Brushmarkers to color my pumpkins and such. The black panel behind the image was cut using the Wonky Stitched Rectangle Die. I pulled out some vintage sheet music and my very dusty sewing machine. I adhered everything with Crafty Foam Tape. I also added a bit of glitter under the sentiment.

I wanted a few hearts so I used a few from the Sweetheart Sprinkletz collection.  I colored them black with a Copic marker before adhering them.
I am so glad you stopped by! Be sure to pop on over to Whimsy Stamps to see all of their new products!
Have a great weekend!

Whimsy's New Release!

Hello!
Today is Whimsy's mid month release! And I know I sound like a broken record, but it is such an awesome release! So much goodness! Fall is my favorite season, so maybe that's why I am a bit partial.
I used the new Leaf Frame and Die combo for today's card.  I stamped the leaves on water color paper in a no line ink.  I used my Karin Brushmarkers to bring it to life.  I added details with watercolor pencils.  I added a bit of glitter and glossy accents to the acorns.
The inside was given a bit of color using Tim Holtz ink in Cracked Pistachio.  I stamped the sentiment using the new Slimline Pines stamp and last release's, Fill a Harvest Truck.  I adhered a few gold sequins and popped it up on black card stock.
Thank you for stopping by today!

Whimsy Stamp's August Release!🍕

Today is August 20th and that means it is Whimsy Stamp's newest release!  This card was due to a happy accident and was not something I had originally planned on making.  I have been playing with creating water color backgrounds, with my Karin Brushmarkers, and then using my die cuts. I was attempting to make a "flame" for a rocket card I was making.  I used the new Revealers 3 Die set and the result to me looked like pepperoni pizza! HA! So I ran with it! ;)
I went old school and created a chalkboard look to the background and added some bold text using the Cutie ABC Die Set.  I punched a few circles to add some "pepperoni" and a bit of Gold glitter.  (Because pizza should be glamourous don't you think?)🍕 I hand cut a "crust" and bent it and distressed it.  Twine was added along with a red gem I had in my stash.  To complete my card I added a few white hearts from the Sprinkletz Sweetheart collection.

This release is a super fun one! I can't wait to share my other creations!
Be sure to stop by Whimsy to see the full release!

Thankful!

For some reason, I decided one morning to scroll through my old posts and realized that I used to chat and talk about my life and family more.  I don't seem to do much of that these days. Maybe because the Internet has gotten so big and there are so many places to visit to look at cards.  Maybe because I thought people were too busy to read about what's going on in my life.  But then I realized, this is my blog, kind of a digital journal of my life.  And when I think how long I've been blogging, this little corner of the world is important and priceless, even if it's just for me.  ;) So I totally understand if you are visiting just to look at my cards.  I know how life is, always moving at the speed of light.  But if you have been coming here for years, I hope you will scroll down to the bottom of this post for some exciting news. :)

So on to my card! This little cutie is the 3rd card I've made with Whimsy Stamp's Gnome so Thankful set.  I stamped him in Tim Holtz Distress Linen ink to give a no line water coloring effect.  I used Karin Brushmarkers.  Once everything was dry, I stamped the sentiment.  I distressed the edges with an open pair of scissors.  Just run the scissors along the edge and you get his nice torn, curled edge.
I added some Stickles to the apple, tied a string, and added a little pink Sprinkletz to the center.

So on to my exciting news! As some of you know, my son joined the Navy in January.  He part of the nuclear engineering program in South Carolina.  He left his girlfriend behind here.  They met at church, became friends, and then eventually started dating.  He was home in July on leave and asked her to marry him.  He tied the ring to the inside of the Bible right by their favorite verse.  It was perfect and so sweet.
This Mama got to take their engagement pictures. :)
They are looking at next fall to get married and I couldn't be happier.  They are a great pair together, and she couldn't be any sweeter!

Pumpkin Spice Anyone?

Hello!
I don't want to start a war or anything, but are you a pumpkin spice fanatic? Are you the person who the first day it comes out, you are in the drive-thru giddy with excitement?  ;)  Well, that's me....LOL.  I love summer, don't get me wrong, but fall is my jam.  Something about it gets me.  The cooler weather, fall clothes, comfort foods.........
I created these little fall inspired treat boxes from Whimsy's Gnome So Thankful stamp set.  The image was stamped in Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink on water color paper.  I used a no line water coloring technique with my Karin Brush Markers. Once it was dry I splattered it with white gouache.
I cut out the image using the Pierced and Stitched Circles Die set.  The treat box was from the Mini Treat Box Die.  I adhered the circular image using Crafty Foam Tape.  I added the sentiment, a pearl, twine and a couple of leaves from the Build-a-Pumpkin Patch Die set.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
If you would like to see Whimy's full August release so far, be sure to head on over to their store!

More Gnomes!

Hello!
I have another card using Whimsy's new Gnome so Thankful set! I actually have several more projects using this adorable set. ;) I have definitely been on a water coloring kick lately and used the same no line technique I used on my last card.  I used my Karin Brushmarkers and then the same cloud stencil I had created with the Grass and Cloud Edger Die set and some heavy duty card stock.
I layered everything with Crafty Foam Tape.  I added ribbon and a button I think I've had in my stash since the beginning of time. ;) And as usual I added a teeny heart from the Sprinkletz collection.

Be sure to check out the Whimsy site for the newest products! :)
Have a great day my friends!

I am so happy that this summer we have been getting to see Cort on a regular basis.  I can not tell you how much seeing her smile and hearing her giggle has made my heart so happy. I pray each day that we get to continue to see her, hug her, and love on her.  The world is a scary unpredictable place and she is my ray of sunshine. <3
