Front Door Decor

Good morning!  What a crazy, crazy week it's been.  Our TV died and Cortney went to the dentist only to find out she has two cavities.  One of them is very large and deep, and we are praying that the decay didn't hit the nerve.  She is having her tooth fixed tomorrow and I pray she cooperates with the dentist.

Easter is early this year, and I can't quite get my head wrapped around that fact! (Maybe it's due to the blustery snow and cold outside my window!) But I did manage to take all of my snowmen down and put my Easter decor up.  (Maybe I should have found tiny ear muffs and scarves for my bunnies? LOL!)
I altered this old metal bucket using cream spray paint, lace, and Spanish moss.

I used the Giant Flowers Cartridge to create my focal point.  The bunny was cut out of felt using Teresa Collins Easter Cartridge.  I added a few flowers and my sentiment was computer generated.
I am going to keep it short today!
Thank you all for stopping by!
Have a great day my friends!

Wedding Table Place Cards

I am so glad that it is already Wednesday!  I am one day closer to Saturday.....the BIG day!  I can barely concentrate......my mind is preoccupied.  :)  But I am busy, busy, busy, which helps the days speed by!

I have a card to share with you that was published in the Northridge's November Cricut Magazine. It was for their wedding ideas section and I had decided to use Cricut's Giant Flowers Cartridge to create table place cards.

When using this cartridge you have to allow for the rather large base, so I cut a hole in the second layer of cardstock and popped it off the base layer.  This gave the flower somewhere to sit.
I find using cardstock in various shades of the same color works well to give the flowers depth.
The names and table numbers were printed off the computer.
I did ink each petal with orange to define the edges a bit more and again, give it more depth.

Cort has her cheerleading practice tonight with the high school girls from the local Catholic high school. It is so much fun to see those girls interact with our girls. I absolutely adore the half time show they put together!  It is so cute!

And believe it or not, I do have another child, but he hates when I post anything about him.....imagine that!  He is a boy. He is 15 going on 16. He is a teenage boy. Explanation enough?

He is going to an overnight ski trip with his school in a couple of weeks. He attended last year and had a blast!
Have a great day my friends!

Hello Thursday!

Today is Hello Thursday! This is the day of the month when Provo Craft releases their new Cricut and Imagine Cartridges! There are 10 this month! And each one is cuter than the next! I had the pleasure of working with one called Giant Flowers. I adore flowers. All flowers of all shapes and sizes, and find that I incorporate them wherever I can! So for me this is a dream cartridge! It will be one I use over and over again! How about decorating your presents for the holidays with them? I created this Valentine's box using the rose cut. I used less layers for the rose bud and loved how it turned out! I added some Valentine picks, black tulle, and a tag for the recipient.  When using this cartridge I recommend using different shades of the same color and inking the edges a bit.  In person it has such beautiful depth!

I like the back of my packages to be just as pretty as the front.....so I added more Valentine picks, lace, black twine, and pearls.
I created a LO for my daughter's room to hang on the wall.  I have many scrapbook pages of her in her room.  I hate to admit it, but my daughter is a bit of a narcissist! She loves to look at herself....a lot! ; )  I used the Peony cut for this page.  And again, used different shades of yellow, brown inked edges, and yes.......a bit of glitter! ; )
This is her page hanging on her wall. I love it against the blue!

Since the flower is so dimensional I bridged the gap by adding layers of tulle and seam binding sort of tucked under it.
The pictures were taken by my I-phone and used the Instagram app to edit the photos.  I love the warmth of the photos.  I also dug out those letter beads that used to be so popular many moons ago! I love adding unexpected and fun little details to my projects!
The title was cut using CCR and the Kate's ABC's cartridge.  (Still one of my all time favs!)
