Scrap and Stamp's Blog Hop!

Good morning and happy Friday/Weekend to y'all!!! I am excited to have been asked to join in on Scrap and Stamp's Blog Hop! The very talented Pamela came up with this fabulous sketch! I loved the huge star idea! So I pulled out some Christmas baking photos....... : )

I chose to use the large picture of my cookies....and one smaller picture of more cookies and Cort and Kyle helping in the kitchen!

I used Noel Mignon's Dear Santa kit for the fun collection of papers and embellishments!

The title was cut using my Cricut, coated with Crystal Lacquer and sprinkled with chunky Martha Stewart glitter. I love how it looks good enough to eat!

And of course I had to sneak a pic of my birthday guy in here........making his wish....then eating tira mi su......YUM! Can you see his two adorable dimples??

If you would like a chance to win some prizes.....leave a comment on each of these fabulous gals' blogs! A winner will be chose on Monday! You can also create a LO based on this fun sketch and post it by Sunday night for a chance to win too! Just post it and link it back to Scrap and Stamp's blog!

Our Craft Lounge.....

....is the sponsor for Scrap & Stamp this week! Their stamps are just adorable and I decided to pair their OCL pooch with mine. I colored him in with my Copics and added a bit of Crystal Effects for his nose. (cuz, we all know that dogs' noses are wet!) I think he looks a bit like my dog, doesn't he? : ) I kept the LO fairly simple and uncluttered so the focus was on his cute furry face.! The title was done with my new font from Quickutz called Candy Shoppe.

I just love this furry little guy! : )

Don't forget to head on over to Scrap & Stamp to play along with our theme this week.....Love is in the Air. You don't have to own any OCL stamps to play and of course there are prizes to be won!

Since my house wasn't messy enough from redoing the scrap room, my hubby and I decided to redo Kyle's room on top of it. (Apparently we are glutens for punishment!) We have scraped most of the wall paper (yes, I think we've wallpapered every room in the house.....it was in, in the 90's!) and today we are hoping to spackle all the holes in the wall. Hopefully, we will be ready to prime them tomorrow.
I will take pics of my room soon......I am just waiting for a few more things to get done in there!
As always, I appreciate you stopping by my little corner of the world! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!

Whimsical

The meaning of whimsical is described as impulsive and playful. That is this week's scrap challenge over at Scrap & Stamp. These pictures of my two year old niece are certainly playful! She loves to dip her head back.......all the way when she swings! So of course I had to get behind her to capture that! Don't ya just love that fine blond hair blowing all over? : ) I used an old piece of My Mind's Eye for the background paper, some vintage book paper, Making Memories journaling spots, and a few misc. pieces I had laying around. I have all these Popsicle sticks from the the rub on packages and decided to recycle them here. I broke them in half and used them for the stems of my flowers. (I think that might count as whimsical.....right?) Her name was done in stickers that I've probably had for 12 years. So let's call them "retro" stickers! : )

Hop on over to the Scrap & Stamp blog to get a look at the prize being offered this week! Make your own whimsical LO, and that prize could be yours!
JUST A REMINDER!
My CARD'S CLASS starts this Monday! If you would like to purchase the class, head on over to the side bar. It will take place over at Noel Mignon.com. We are going to have so much fun, I hope you can join us!
Well, off to paint.......again. Still trying to finish the upstairs hallway. Once we finish that, then my scrap room is next! YEA!

Scrap & Stamp's Friendship Challenge!

Scrap & Stamp's challenge this week is to create a friendship theme, and the sponsor this week is Lizzie Anne Stamps!!! If you want to play along, you have a chance of winning an adorable Lizzie Anne Stamp set! In addition to that we have our very first GDT member......Rose Anne Reynolds of Paper Delightz! (What a rock star she is! And a sweetie to boot!) And the last bit of news? Scrap & Stamp has decided to do weekly challenges! This means more blog candy and more fun! Woot woot!

Now on to my friendship LO! Remember THIS picture? I altered it a bit in Photoshop using a Chocolate Black & White action. (Learned this in Michelle Lanning's Photo Editing Cheats class!) I love how it turned into such a warm black and white photo. The girls suits and background were a bit distracting before! I used Noel's Five Foot Two kit (sold out) for most of this LO. The butterflies are by Sweet 'n Sassy (In His Time set) . I stamped those on a newsprint transparency with Staz on. Then I cut the butterflies out with good scissors and folded their wings up. I then added some itty bitty rhinestones to their bodies. The flowers were homemade. I got the directions from a Martha Stewart magazine. The directions will be found HERE tomorrow. (Sunday, August 2). They were easy to make and I love how they added just a little somethin' somethin!

Love these gorgeous butterflies!

Gotta love Martha Stewart!

I hope you can find time to play along this week! : )

Off to Wisconsin today to celebrate my niece and nephew's birthdays. So I guess I better get showered, dressed, and get the kiddos up!
Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!!!!! : )

Scrap & Stamp Saturday!

This week's Scrap & Stamp Challenge was to create a "Water LO using 2 DP and a stamped image and 3 embellishments. My paper is from Noel Mignon's Five Foot Two (sold out!) & Eyes of Blue kit. (6 left!) The stamps I used are from Crafty Secret's Sea Side set. To create my "beach" I simply tore strips of paper, coated them with texture paste and sprinkled sand. Once dry, I shook off the excess, and inked the edges a bit. I layered them, glued them to my page and tucked some of my "seashells" in between.

The title was created the same way......Maya Road chipboard letter + texture paste + sand= cool title!
For your chance to win some scrapbooking goodies, go to the Scrap & Stamp site and link your "Water" LO there! Can't wait to see what you come up with! : )

Today Kyle goes off to Boy Scout camp for a week. The poor kid is a nervous wreck. He keeps telling me he will be fine once he gets there. He had fun last year, so I am sure he will be fine.
We also have our annual block party today. I live right outside Chicago in a town very similar to Mayberry. Everyone knows everyone. People still help each other, wave to each other, and it has been a wonderful place to raise our kids. (And everyone is extremely kind to Cortney. The kids try so hard to include her in everything! That alone just makes my heart swell!) So I need to get baking and such! Have a FANTASTIC Saturday!
I apologize for not visiting much this week. I haven't been on the computer much, except to do my posts. Next week I will be hopping around a bit more! : )

Happy 4th of July!

This week's challenge over at Scrap & Stamp was to create a 4th of July LO. I decided on these silly pics of my dog, Skippers and my son, Kyle wearing their goofy 4th of July glasses! My dog is so fun to photograph because he just poses for me! I used paper by American Crafts, some Doodlebug trim, and some star brads with buttons. The tag was done using my Nestibilities. I placed them on the tag and used my Copic Airbrush system to spray over the Nesties. I removed them and then stamped my Pledge of Allegiance stamp over it. Every challenge, Melissa and Alex offer some fun prizes for participating.......so head HERE to get the details on how you can win! (I can't wait to see YOUR 4th of July page!)

I am heading back from Michigan tomorrow......so don't forget to leave your name in the blog candy drawing.....which will be held Sunday night!

Have a fabulous weekend and a safe 4th!!!

Scrap & Stamp's Second Challenge!

This week's challenge was to create a LO with a nature theme and use a Sweet 'n Sassy image(s) on your LO. Easy enough! What says nature more than flowers? I took a bunch of pics of my garden and created my LO around that. I used some Making Memories and Basic Grey's Lime Ricky paper. To tone it down, I inked the edges and gave it a wash with diluted white paint. I also pulled out my Glimmer Mist and screen to create the piece under the title. I loved the pop of red! The letters were cut out of craft foam. I incorporated a doily and some other vintage goodies into the LO, as well as that sweet lil' Sweet 'n Sassy butterfly.

Head on over to the Scrap & Stamp blog to see the other fabulous LO's by the DT!
I will be at Craft Fancy in Arlington Heights, IL, all day! I will be doing a JustRite Demo as well as a Make n Take. If you live in the area be sure to stop by and say hi!

First Scrap & Stamp Challenge!

Happy Saturday to ya'll! I am heading out to my niece's dance recital later today. She always looks so darn cute in her costume!

Today is the first day of the Scrap & Stamp Challenge! One of our DT members, Pamela Young, designed this fabulous sketch for us! In addition to the sketch we were to create a summer themed LO using two stamped images!

Used the self-inking stamps from JustRite for my title. I colored the letters in with Copics and then added some glitter!

I used this VERY old Inkadinkado sun stamp. I again colored it with Copics, cut it out, and layered it over a Prima flower.

Used some vintage (OLD) Wild Asparagus paper and a large rectangular doily. (Told ya I was addicted to those darn things!)
Scrap & Stamp has a fantastic sponser.......Limelight Papercrafts! If you want to play along this week, you could win THIS fabulous prize!
What's in it?
Basic Grey Wisteria 6x6 Paper Pad
Basic Grey Bling It Individual Rhinestone Squares - Silver/Diamond
Prima Painterly Petals - Urban Cosmos
Shimmerz Spritz - Concrete
If you decide to play along (and I hope you do!) you need to go HERE and leave a comment with a link to your LO by Friday June 19th. HAPPY SCRAPPIN!!!

1944

I am sitting here with a smile on my face, thinking about all the good things in my life. A good dinner with my hubby and kids. Making fruit smoothies in our blender. Watching TV shows that make me giggle. Snuggling and reading out loud to Kyle. Tucking my girl in bed. Life is definitely enjoying all of those little things...... : )

On top of all that goodness, I just received Noel's newest kit in the mail today! NO, it isn't this kit below........it is THIS kit that isn't being sold to Friday! It is called Rise and Shine! Let me just tell you, it is such a fun happy kit! All of Noel's kits are fabulous and this new one is no exception! So I can't wait to get my butt upstairs and play! Hope to have some sneak peeks tomorrow!

Before I leave you though, I want to share a heritage LO of my MIL and her mom. I used Noel's Penny Arcade kit for this. It contains such beautiful soft papers and embellishments. I punched my own flowers, did a bit of sewing and distressing. I used an angel girl from Crafty Secret's Childhood Image & Journal Notes, to perch on top of the flowers. I also used my JustRite stamp for the sentiment.

I have some exciting news to share with you! I have become a part of Alex and Melissa's DT called Scrap & Stamp. Every other week the girls will host a different challenge. I am honored to be a part of this talented group! Go ahead and give them a visit!
WHEW! That was a long post! Thanks for sticking with me! : )
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!!!!
