Are you ready for summer? OK, maybe spring does need to come first.....but come on already with this weather! I can't take it anymore!!!!! I am longing for those dog days of summer, bbq's, swimming, taking night walks.......
This is another High Hope's stamp. I colored him in with my Prismas and mineral spirits. I went to Michaels last night just to get out of my "sick" house. Course I went in my pajama top, (who would see it under my coat?) Woody Wood Pecker hair, and not a stitch of makeup! Can you say, scary sight? The check out girl looked at me pretty funny.......but I digress......there was a stand of all kinds of new paper. This paper was from Me & My Big Ideas. I thought it looked rather summery and watery! I added the rhinestones for "water droplets." I found this ribbon at Michaels too. Unfortunately, it did not fit, so I cut it up to make it fit!
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
*Still home from school.....Kyle is getting better, and now Cort is sick! Hope they recuperate over the weekend!
My thoughts and ideas for cardmaking and an occasional altered project!

Oink, Oink!
My MIL had a SU! party last week and some of us girls swapped images. Kim over at Crafty Me, had just purchased some cute High Hopes Images. This pig was one of them. I colored him in with my Prismas and Mineral Spirits. The first pig I colored was a hot pink and I didn't like it at all! So it was back to the drawing board. This pig turned out a little better......although I am no Anna Wight! I used my Spellbinders to cut the image and cut the circle behind him. And, yes, there is that darn KI paper! Thought I had used it all didn't you? Nope! Found this last scrap on my table! I didn't add a sentiment because his T-shirt says it all.
I will be home tomorrow, the kiddos are still sick. Kyle's fever was lower today, but still not gone. Since it is Friday, I thought it might be a good idea to stay home. I got some scrappin done today and a few cards! Thanks for visiting me!

Blog Candy Winner.....
The winner of Kyle's birthday blog candy was.....
Alexandra! She said.....
Happy birthday - he is so handsome! And no, you are not the only one! My baby just turned 11 on the 16th of January, and my oldest will be 19 in March and left for college this past summer. I have yet to recover - I am definitely not one of those moms who can't wait for her kids to leave, I love having them around, doing things with them, loving them! I am very close to my three and every birthday I cringe knowing they are getting a year closer to leaving my "nest"! So, enjoy him and all his fun little personality things that make him special!! Great blog candy too Michele - very great to offer this on HIS birthday! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
Send me your address, so I can get your goodies out to you!
**Home today with the kiddos. Kyle is still running a fever and Cort is coughing up a lung......so I am home from work. I woke up this morning to a note from hubby that read, " How about doing some laundry?" *sigh* ........ a woman's work is never done......

A Little Bit of Summer....
Just a quick post tonight! I will announce the blog candy winner first thing in the morning. Both of my kids are sick tonight with fevers. This is a page I made a few months ago. It was our father's day get together at my house. With the 10 inches that were dumped in our area again, it sure makes me long for that pool!

Valentine's Day .....again! Last Chance for Blog candy!
Here is another card made with Sweet n' Sassy Stamps. Unfortunately it looks better IRL! The chocolate is blending into the red heart. It is much easier to see IRL. I stamped the chocolates in brown Palette Noir ink and then colored the tops with my Copics. I crystal lacquered them and then cut them out. I adhered them to ANOTHER red felt heart. (Told ya, if it's on my desk, it gets used up!) I added a paper doily and pulled out my sewing machine. The paper is by SU!. The sentiment is also Sweet n' Sassy.
Today at school, the secretary came into my classroom to tell me my husband was on the phone. I really panicked because he NEVER calls me at work. I rushed past my principal to the phone and asked Brian, "What's wrong?" There was a brief silence, (which only worried me more...) He proceeded to say, " I am so embarrassed! I told your principal to just take a message, that it was nothing important, but he insisted on getting you out of class." (Probably, because he NEVER calls, that my principal thought it MUST be important!)
Now, I am getting impatient with him, "Why are you embarrassed?" I ask.
"Well..........I called to ask you to go to Wolf's Bakery to pick up my Paczki.....I won't make it out of work on time, and they close at 6:00."
"That's it? No emergency? You just need me to pick up baked goods?"
"Yep.........and if you tell anyone, I will have to hurt you!"
I hung up the phone.......and needless to say.....told EVERYONE at school! They all got a pretty good chuckle out of this one. At least he has his priorities straight! LOL!
Don't forget.....scroll down for some blog candy!

Valentine's Sweet n' Sassy Style! **Scroll down for a chance at Blog Candy!**
This little cutie pie cupcake from Sweet n' Sassy, is the sweetest! I made frosting out of texture medium and brown acrylic paint. While it was wet I added microbeads and crystal lacquer. I had a teeny tiny heart bead to add as the "cherry." I adhered this to a Making Memories glittered chipboard heart and scalloped frame. The sentiment was stamped in brown and is also by Sweet n' Sassy. I added some buttons and Doodlebug flowers. My sweet friend Mary Ann (and future Mother-in-law to my son.....*Wink*) sent me all of this vintage sheet music. So I added that to my card along with another felt heart! I did some sewing and pulled out my dusty pinking shears! I also added some pretty brown ribbon, also from Making Memories.
BTW, I never DID announce when I would be drawing a name for Blog candy......it will be Wednesday night around 10P.M. Thanks so much for making me feel a little less crazy! I really did think there was something wrong with me! Who gets sad at their own kid's birthday for pete's sake! I guess lots of people!! I always love reading your comments they really do bring a smile to my face!

My Baby Turned 11! AND Blog candy to celebrate!
11 years ago I delivered this cutie pie! He has always been Mr. Personality since day one. I used to call him my Renaissance Man because he dabbled in a bit of everything. Today, he is smart, quick witted, a history buff, a night owl, and the best kid a parent could ask for!
To celebrate this....I am offering some blog candy. What do you get? A square punch, Autumn Leaves stamps, white note cards, Cuttlebug die cuts and a piano die cut. What do you have to do? Tell me if I am the only crazy one out there who actually gets sad at their kid's birthday! I just can't believe where the time goes......before you know it he will be off to college.....getting married........*sigh*.

Kyle's PArty Invitation!
My baby boy turns 11 tomorrow! I received this adorable Amuse Rocket from my good friend Simone at Christmas. I thought it would be perfect for an invitation! I used my Copics to color it in. I added Crystal lacquer to the window and then cut the image out. The flames were done using a Heidi Swapp foam stamp using acrylic paint and glitter on a transparency. I then cut it out. I glittered all my stars and added pop dots to everything. The sentiment was done using Karen Foster's snap stamps.
I will be offering blog candy tomorrow in honor of Kyle's birthday, so check back! Have a great Sunday!
