Sweet 'n Sassy's Blog Hop!

Sweet 'n Sassy is hosting a blog hop that started on Wednesday and ends today. We were to feature scriptures in our cards. I chose this sweet birdhouse. It is a digi set called Home Tweet Home. I colored the image with my Copics. I added texture to the grass with blending solution and a wash rag. I created (another) banner for the scripture. I tucked it into the "overall" hardware and felt flowers. (What the heck do you call those things on overalls? ) The paper is by October Afternoon.

I added a grey shadow around image to help ground it.

This is the end of my guest design spot for Sweet 'n Sassy. I have so enjoyed working with this sweet and very talented design team! Thanks so much for having me this month! : )

Holy Cow! Life is Busy!

WOW! I can't believe how the this week is flying by! Kyle and I start school tomorrow, Brian is off this week, we are still working on painting my scrap room, hanging curtains in the hallway, cleaning vents, light fixtures etc. We are going to start painting the pink in my scrap room today.....hurray! Pretty soon, things can start going back to their places, and hopefully, I can start creating again. Until then everything is on hold. So I just wanted to pop in briefly say hello, and let ya know what I am up to! : )

This card was created using a digi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy. It is called Soar Above. I thought it was a perfect image for a little boy's birthday card! The DP is by Making Memories. I added flock to the clouds, popped one up on a pop dot, and added crystal effects to the windows. The plane was colored with Copics, cut out, and popped up also! I created a banner for the back of the plane. : )

Sweet 'n Sassy is having their Blog Hop today going all the way through to Friday. Stop Here to start the hop!
Have a great day!!!

JustRite Sneak, a LO, and an Announcement!

Happy Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by for a visit! Today is Day 2 of my JustRite sneak peeks! Head on over to the JR blog to see this project in its entirety. : )
I also wanted to share this LO I created for Noel Mignon's current challenge to use the fabulously talented, Tara Van Moorsel's LO as inspiration. I decided to go with the way the page was designed. I loved the circular element and the way she included ribbon on the edge of her circle. I used Noel's Rise & Shine kit. (sold out) The butterfly is from Sweet 'n Sassy's, In His Time, stamp set.

This is a sweet moment captured between my hubby and his Godchild. : )
Ok, ready for my big announcement? I have opened my own lil' shop over at Lollishops! It is called Art a la Carte! You will see it in the right side bar. I only have a few items for sale, but am planning on adding a bunch more! I have thought about doing this for ages, but never took the plunge.....until now! : 0
Don't forget that my Card's class starts this Monday, the 24th. If you would like more info on the class click HERE. You can e-mail me as well! : )
Off to set up my classroom today.......and then strip wallpaper in my scraproom. Which BTW, is a complete and utter mess!

A Mushroom With a View

You might want to grab a pair of sunglasses for this post! I am usually a soft colored, vintage kind of gal, but not today! Today, I broke out of my usual style for something bright, happy, and fun! I used Sweet 'n Sassy's, A Mushroom With a View, digi set. For some reason these Shrooms seem happy to me........can mushrooms be happy? Maybe I've been eating the wrong kind of mushrooms in my salads? And I'm not talking the garden variety! Anyway, I used "happy" June Bug/Basic Grey paper. It is such fun patterned paper! I colored the image with my Copics, added some texture to my grass with blending solution and a washcloth. I kept the embellishments to a minimum since the paper and image are rather bright and busy. Just a simple ribbon and a circular sentiment!

Don't forget, my card class starts this coming Monday......I am super excited and hope you can join me! Sign up is on the right side bar if you interested!

Have a HAPPY Thursday!!!!!! : )

Guest Designer for Sweet 'n Sassy!

I am excited to tell you that I will be a guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy stamps this month! I was previously on their DT and was honored to be asked back! : )

If you remember a couple of days ago, I posted a LO of my daughter and her friends using Sweet 'n Sassy's, In His Time, set. For today's card, I used the same set. I ADORE these butterflies! I colored the image with my Copics and added pearls to the body and wings. I stamped the sentiment with Momento ink. Using my Nestibilities, I airbrushed the image a bit. The paper and ribbon is by Papertrey Ink.

I so appreciate you stopping by! Thank you!

Have a fantastic Thursday!!!!!

Scrap & Stamp's Friendship Challenge!

Scrap & Stamp's challenge this week is to create a friendship theme, and the sponsor this week is Lizzie Anne Stamps!!! If you want to play along, you have a chance of winning an adorable Lizzie Anne Stamp set! In addition to that we have our very first GDT member......Rose Anne Reynolds of Paper Delightz! (What a rock star she is! And a sweetie to boot!) And the last bit of news? Scrap & Stamp has decided to do weekly challenges! This means more blog candy and more fun! Woot woot!

Now on to my friendship LO! Remember THIS picture? I altered it a bit in Photoshop using a Chocolate Black & White action. (Learned this in Michelle Lanning's Photo Editing Cheats class!) I love how it turned into such a warm black and white photo. The girls suits and background were a bit distracting before! I used Noel's Five Foot Two kit (sold out) for most of this LO. The butterflies are by Sweet 'n Sassy (In His Time set) . I stamped those on a newsprint transparency with Staz on. Then I cut the butterflies out with good scissors and folded their wings up. I then added some itty bitty rhinestones to their bodies. The flowers were homemade. I got the directions from a Martha Stewart magazine. The directions will be found HERE tomorrow. (Sunday, August 2). They were easy to make and I love how they added just a little somethin' somethin!

Love these gorgeous butterflies!

Gotta love Martha Stewart!

I hope you can find time to play along this week! : )
***********************************************************
Off to Wisconsin today to celebrate my niece and nephew's birthdays. So I guess I better get showered, dressed, and get the kiddos up!
Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!!!!! : )

Farewell!

I don't know what I was thinking when I posted last night.......but please forgive me, as I had just come from a scrapbook party and had had a few glasses of wine! LOL! THIS is my last post for 2008! My time at Sweet 'n Sassy has come to an end. I have so enjoyed working with sweet Korin and the other talented DT gals! I will miss you! But be assured that I will continue to stalk your blogs!! Kathy, Jessica, and myself are ending our term, and some wonderful new talent is coming in! Check out their blogs for some new January sneak peeks and then check the Sweet 'n Sassy blog tomorrow for the current DT's sneaky peeks!

This is a brand new set called Flourishes! Just love it!!! I stamped the flowers and had to outline them in glue and sprinkle some hot pink glitter and added rhinestones! It's all about the bling baby! The sentiment was cut from the Papertrey paper and added to a jewelry tag.

This card was created using an older set called, Snow Friends. I colored them in with my Prismas and added glitter for the heart and the snow. Aren't they the cutest?

Don't forget to visit Jessica and Kathy's blogs today!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )

Sweet 'n Sassy's Round Up!

Every month the gals of Sweet 'n Sassy have a special card to show you. All of the cards created for the Round up are posted on the SNSS blog. These talented women have outdone themselves! Their projects and cards are just awesome! This card was created using Winter at Home. The set was created by our very own Chris Dickinson.
The images have such a cozy feel to them, and they are such fun to color. I made a few more of these "sugared" snowflakes inspired by Anna Wight. They are cut with Kraft cardstock. You spread glue all over and sprinkle chunky glitter. When it is dry, I spray walnut ink to distress them further. I finished it off with a button and floss. Head on over to the SNSS blog to see what the other gals have cooked up!
***Thank you so much for your kind words of support. It is so touching to know there are so many kind souls out there.........I am sure Joanne is smiling up in heaven at all the love she has received.........

Quickie post....

This will be a quickie post tonight. I am feeling a bit blue, and don't really know why exactly. Teary and crabby. So....I will make this quick so as not to bring you down! This card was created with the awesome set, Winter at Home, created for Sweet 'n Sassy by the awesomely talented Chris Dickinson. I used my Copics and added liquid applique for the snow. I also tried to make the porch floor look like wooden planks. I think they sort of do! I added a few felt snowflakes and some lace to finish it off.

Off I go.....
Happy weekend!

Last Day of Blog Hop!

I am a wee bit late in posting this morning. Woke up with a killer headache and finally it is subsiding! Today is my "official" blog hop day for Sweet 'n Sassy! I decided to play with new set called, Winter at Home. It is a great set to sit and color! I used my Copics. I used liquid applique for the steam and snow and LOTS of glitter. Oh, and the edge around the entire image too! (Can never have enough glitter can ya?!) The paper is SU! and Love Elsie. I also used my Nesties for the matte and sentiment. Chris is also hosting today.....so be sure to pay her a visit!
It is beginning to look a bit like this here in Chicago......weatherman is predicting up to 4 inches today! It is the first official snow accumulation of the season. What a great day to put up the Christmas tree!
HAVE A WONDERFUL SUNDAY!!!!! : )

I colored this sweet bird in with my Copics. I used my new Nestibilities too! The paper is by Papertrey Ink, SU!. I used a couple of felt snowflakes my Making Memories. Did you Grow Up in the 80's?

I did! You can see my beautifully permed hair, acid wash jeans with the socks rolled up over them, and top siders! Man, I was so COOL! This is my best friend, Jen. Her and I have been through tons of crap together, and she has always stuck by me. I have had this old picture forever and really wanted to scrap it. Noel's challenge was to use the word "Remember, " in your LO. So this picture fit perfectly! I used Noel's new kit called Cornucopia. Awesome kit jam packed with stuff! Don't forget to head on over to the message board to play along with the challenges and win some prizes!!!

Leave a comment HERE for your chance to win a Sweet 'n Sassy set! I will draw a name at 12:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 15th.

Some exciting news....and a challenge!

I have waited so long for this day.....

I am a new member of Crafty Secret's DT!!! I can not begin to tell you how excited I am! I love Sandy's products soooo much! And the DT ladies are such talented exceptional women....and I am honored to work with them! So in honor of this big news, I made a quick card using a sweet image from the journal booklet. I had a few scraps on my table, (ok that is a bit of an understatement) and started putting them to together to create the background for this card. I added some vintage lace, buttons, and a little swirly felt piece. I can't remember who it is by. (I have that short term memory loss thing going on.....) : )

I know all week I have told you to head on over to Noel's Message Board! Would you humor me please, by going there? Why? Because I am today's host! The challenge I am giving is to use NO store bought embellishments! You can create your own though.....that is "legal" for this challenge. This was even a stretch for me, since I LOVE STUFF on my cards and LO's! So, I decided to create a homemade, paper punch turkey for "homemade" embellishment. The paper is from Noel's Home Sweet Home kit. The title was cut using my Cricut. Unfortunately, since I live in gloomy, rainy Chicago and it gets dark like at 3:00 PM. (Slight exaggeration....but not by much!), the picture does not represent the colors well. The yellow here looks quite icky! IRL, it is a soft, warm yellow.....so put your imaginations to work!

Saturday I will do the drawing for the blog candy! IF you haven't left a comment for the free Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set, click HERE, for your chance to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

More Challenges & a RAK!

Isn't this card lovely? I received it from the very sweet Pam Spiedel. (Stamping with Serendipity) She is such a talented and kind person! And even better than the card was the sweet note she wrote inside....it really made my day! If you have never been to her blog.....please give her a visit! She does gorgeous work!
Have you been to Noel's Message Board? There are tons of challenges going on over there! (AND AWESOME PRIZES too!!!) Today's challenge was based on a "recipe." If you would like the "recipe," head on over! The LO's everyone has created have been gorgeous! My LO you need glasses for....what is with my son's REALLY bright yellow sweatshirt AND apron?! It is pretty hard to match DP with an outfit like that!!! After I finished this LO, I realized I could have converted the picture to black and white.......DUH! Oh well....I used Noel Mignon's Home Sweet Home kit for the majority of this LO. I did add a few vintage pieces as well. The tags underneath the word, cooking, are from old cookbooks. (I buy a lot of my vintage stuff at my friend Mary's Etsy shop.)
And last, but certainly not least, click HERE if you would like to win a free stamp set!!!
HAPPY THURSDAY!!!

Thankful...

I am truly thankful for this little family of mine. They are the reason I get up in the morning and thank my lucky stars at night. This picture was taken in our hotel room at Disney World. (The Polynesian) I was pleased with the photo because we all look pretty good! I used Noel Mignon's Home Sweet Home kit. (only 5 are left, so ya better hurry and grab one!) Don't forget to head over Noel Mignon's Message Board and play in this weeks' challenges! Lots of prizes to be won!

And last but not least, click HERE for a chance to win a free stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy.

Fairies...

My mind has left me.....I can't remember if I already posted this.....if I did, I apologize! Lately, all the things I have created can't be shared yet.....so I am getting desperate! This is a Crafty Secret's image that I stamped in Versamark and embossed with black. I brayered over it and then sponged the edges in a darker blue. (Night of Navy). The paper is SU! and Crafty Secrets.

I will be posting later today for some Sweet 'n Sassy Blog candy.....so check back later!

I will be gone this weekend on a scrapbook weekend retreat with friends. OF course I may just go to socialize, because I still have nothing packed! Sad, I know. I am the world's worst procrastinator!
