Embellished Egg Cartons!

Good morning and happy Friday to you!
I am off next week for spring break and couldn't be happier! A little time to catch up with family and sleep in for a few days! ;)
I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog today with these embellished egg cartons.
Does anyone else have an obsession with Target's Dollar Spot?  Although they really should rename it to Target's Dollar(s) Spot!  Because let's be honest, is anything in that section really a dollar?
But nonetheless, I still love it and always seem to find something I have to have.  Like these gingham bunnies.
Cute right?
And these egg cartons? Super duper cute!! My MIL bought me a set from Stampin Up! I added a bit of clear glitter to the sides. :)
I adhered the green polka dot paper using E-Z Squares.  The bunnies were self adhesive so they were just stuck right on top.  I used the Dual Tip Glue pen to adhere the gold trim and pink pom pom.  I cut a flower using a die from JustRite.  The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  All of that was added using a Dodz-Medium.
Thank you all for stopping by! I love your visits so much!
Have a great day!

Merry Christmas Shaker Ornament!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!  I know I did! I feel so blessed to have my little family to share the holidays with. :)
It has been an incredible year for our family for sure!  Cort moved to Misericordia, Kyle is away at college, Brian and I traveled to San Francisco, New York, and we are heading to Nashville for New Year's Eve.  On top of that, Brian started a new job a few weeks ago.  It was scary and exciting all at the same time! I am normally ready to usher the new year in, but I am okay lingering in 2016 for as long as possible! ;)
I have another ornament that was on the SRM Blog yesterday.  It is a shaker ornament using dies from Spellbinders and Tim Holtz inks for a bit of soft color.
I added veins to the poinsettia using a white gel pen.  I added a Christmas sentiment from SRM as a final touch.
Cort is home for a few more days, so we are taking her and Kyle (because he is a good "big" brother) to see the movie, Sing.  We are trying to cram as much family time as we can before regular life kicks in again.  ;)
Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful Monday!

Rusty Lid Ornament!

Good morning!  I have a few minutes before I start cleaning and getting my house ready for company today. :) I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog today with another rusty lid ornament.  It provides such an interesting back drop! I used The Dual Tip Glue Pen to adhere the mica flakes to the perimeter of the lid as well as the doily in the back.  My flowers were cut using water color paper and dies from JustRite.  I gave them color using my Zig Clean Color Markers.  I layered everything using 3D Foam Squares.
The sequins were added using Dodz-small.  I punched a hole at the top using my Cropidile and threaded rustic twine through it.

I will be back tomorrow with another ornament!
Merry Christmas Eve to you and your family!

Coffee Make Every Day Possible!

Created by Michele Kovack
I couldn't agree with that more! I love this stamp set from JustRite!
The coffee cup, sentiment, and rings were stamped on water color paper using brown Memento ink.  I painted around the coffee cup with  plain water and then used my Zig markers to get these cool pools of color. I used Dodz-mini from Scrapbook Adhesives to add my sequins.  Since the card was fairly simple I added layers of crafty foam tape for a bit of dimension.
A little bit of coordinating twine and the card was complete!

Our golf outing was a success!  We had beautiful weather and people were so incredibly generous!
I am now switching to school mode.  Yesterday I spent the entire afternoon getting my room ready and today I will do the same! Open house next Thursday evening!
This summer was one of the best ones I can remember, but it sure did fly by!
Thank you for stopping by today!

Good morning to you!! I am having a bit of coffee and computer time before I head upstairs to pack.  San Francisco is pretty cool, so sweaters and jackets are on my list!
I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today.
Coffee=Liquid Sanity!

I used a stamp set by JustRite and water colored it using my Zig Markers. I layered everything using Crafty Foam tape and DODZ™. (My absolute favorite "go to" products!)
The twine is from The Stamp Simply store. (My other favorite place to get ribbon and twine!)

Stamping, Glitter, and Favecrafts!

I have a card to share with you that I made awhile back using a new set from JustRite called, Create a Flower Garden.  I stamped the leaves and flowers and decided to fill each of the flowers in with glitter.  I couldn't help it!  The glitter just calls out to me!
I stamped the sentiment in black, added a few clear sequins, and tied a silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply Store.

Have you headed over to Favecrafts lately?
I have quite a few projects over there and it truly is a great resource for inspiration!
I love that they include all crafts, from stamping, knitting, to DIY projects!
Be sure to check out their site!
Have a great day my friends!

Inspiration From One of my Favorite Stampers and a Rainbow Challenge!

Created by Michele Kovack
Do you have a morning routine?
I do. ;)
I feed my pups, make my coffee, and sit down in front of my computer and peruse through my list of favorite stampy blogs. It is such a great relaxing start to my day, and also a great way to get inspired.  Recently, I fell in love with THIS card from one of my stamping idols, Laura Bassen.  I love everything she creates! Her videos crack me up because she has such a great sense of humor! (I appreciate people with a sense of humor!) I don't case too many cards, but decided to try my hand at a card similar to hers.
Created by Michele Kovack
I stamped the rows of butterflies using a Stampendous stamp and my Mini Misti.  It was embossed in white and colored in a somewhat loosely translated rainbow color pattern.  I splattered the background with white and black water colors for a bit of interest.  I added a sentiment from JustRite cut on white foam.  I added sparkly Stickles to it.  The sentiment was stamped on black and embossed on white. I added it to the front panel along with a few sequins.

I know my posts have still been a bit sparse, but summer has been so busy with baseball games, golf, graduation parties etc.  :)
Life is good.
I truly appreciate you stopping by my little blog!
Have a wonderful day my friends!

Tim Holtz Distress Crayon's Experiment #2!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning! Happy Memorial Weekend to you!
I was up on the SRM Blog a couple of days ago with this card. The background was another experiment in using Tim Holtz's Distress Crayons, a circle stencil, and a baby wipe.  I colored the background black, laid the stencil over it, and wiped it off with a baby wipe to reveal the lighter gray circles.  Why I thought it would be great for a spring card is beyond me!  But I did it!  I paired it with felt JustRite flowers and a sentiment from SRM Stickers.
Created by Michele Kovack
It's an odd combination for sure, but I do think it makes the flower pop a bit!
Cortney is home for the weekend, so we are planning on spending the day in the pool.
Have a wonderful day!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Creating a Faux Tile Background!

I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today with a photo tutorial on how to create this faux tiled background.
I had so much fun with this technique that I made 3 cards!

Celebrate Prom!

Good morning!  Tonight is Cort's very last prom.....I know I will be crying a bucket of tears.  Her journey has taken a new direction and all that she has known has changed.  The change has been good, but nevertheless, a change.  It is definitely bitter sweet.
In honor of Cort's last prom, how about a pretty lil' dress box today?
The dress was cut out using my Silhouette.
Created by Michele Kovack
I stamped the dress with JustRite's new, Create a Flower Garden     stamp.  It was stamped with Versamark and embossed in white.  I sponged Tim Holtz inks around the dress panel in pink, orange, and yellow.  I splattered a bit of water over it and colored in the flowers with my Zig Watercolor Markers. I added a sentiment from SRM Stickers, and tied twine from the Stamp Simply Store.

Even though prom is actually tonight, I always take Cortney's individual pictures a couple of weeks in advance.  This allows me to concentrate on taking pictures of her with her friends.
My sweet happy girl......
Prom 2016!

JustRite's New Release- Multi-step Pine Trees!

Good morning friends!  I know I've been doing a poor job keeping up with this blog of mine!  This house has just been such a time consuming task!  And in a way, I am really enjoying it!  We ordered new counter tops yesterday and picked out tile for our kitchen's back splash. It won't be installed for a few weeks, but I am excited nonetheless.  ;)

My crafty time has been quite limited, but I did manage to squeak out a few cards for JustRite's new release.  Today's set is the Multi-step Pine Trees with coordinating dies. I stamped the trees in varying shades of green, from light to dark.  I love the depth it creates!
Created by Michele Kovack
The background was done with water colors.  Once my shades of blue were dry I splattered some white paint to represent my stars.  The moon comes with the set and it was stamped, cut out, and given a coat of glossy accents and glitter. I hand cut some rolling hills and added glitter to those as well. The sentiment is part of JustRite's Best Wishes Sentiment Dies. I added glossy accents and glitter to it.  I added a strip of rainbow rhinestones to help ground my sentiment.  As a finishing touch I tied coordinating silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store.

Thank you for putting up with my neglectfulness! ;)
I am hoping very soon to get back on a more regular schedule.

Tim Holtz Distress Markers....

Good morning everyone!
I recently jumped on the Tim Holtz bandwagon and got a couple of sets of his Distress Crayons.  I don't really know what I am doing yet to be quite honest, so this card was a bit of an experiment.  I used a stencil and sort of "smooshed" the white crayon through.  Once the crayon was set, I inked around it in shades of pink, green, and blue.  It gives it an interesting texture I think.
Created by Michele Kovack
I used several JustRite dies to create the focal point.  Flowers, leaves, and a circle doily.....plus an SRM sentiment sticker. Oh! and also a pretty silk flower from the Stamp Simply store!  My favorite adhesive to adhere all of the pieces? Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L DODZ™ Medium.  So much better than dealing with messy glue!
I also used their crafty foam tape to give a little lift off on the back panel.
Created by Michele Kovack
Oh! And did I mention this little card of mine is up on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog today?
Thanks for stopping by!

When Your Card Takes a Different Direction....

What I had envisioned for this new stamp set by JustRite, is not exactly how it came out.  At all.  Not even a little bit.
*sigh*
Almost wasn't going to post it.
I wanted to create a CAS card where the flower is center stage and had minimal embellishments.
Then I embellished anyway.
And kept embellishing.
Why can't I ever leave well enough alone?
In comparison to most of my cards, I guess it's about as CAS as this gal is gonna get.  ;)
I am off to see Cort today at Misericordia!
My mom and I are taking her to lunch!

Easter Carrots!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning!  I am getting ready to start my cooking for tomorrow, but wanted to post these cute carrot boxes I made for the SRM blog!  I used my Silhouette for the box, and the JustRite flower dies to embellish them.  I added a bit of glitter, pink satin ribbon, twine, and a few sequins.  The sentiment is part of SRM's Spring Sentiment collection.
Created by Michele Kovack
Since I had both kiddos home for the weekend, I took some photos of them.  I think Cort was a bit happier about that idea than Kyle! ;) It isn't often anymore that I can get pics of them together, so I was glad to capture this one.
I hope you all have a blessed Easter!

Bloom and Grow!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning!  I have another card to share with you today using the same egg shape as yesterday.  When I use my Silhouette to cut shapes, I tend to cut multiples.  And I don't know if you are like me, but I feel guilty throwing anything away, so I end up making more cards with the extra pieces! I used the same Honeycomb background stamp from JustRite.  I inked the edges in a soft Spun Sugar by Tim Holtz.  I added an extra oval down the center and stamped it.  I added a cluster of flowers using JustRite's Floral Trio dies.  An SRM spring sentiment sticker was added, as well as a bit of ribbon, and a few sequins.
Created by Michele Kovack
Kyle comes home today (along with all of his laundry I am sure!).  ;)  Cort is home tomorrow and then I am off for the next week.  I feel blessed to have a bit of time off to spend with my family and get caught up with a few things around the house.
Dinner with friends tonight too!
All is good in my world!
Have a wonderful day my friends!

Easter Egg!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning!
I am up on the SRM Blog today with a fun Easter Egg shaped card! I cut the egg shape out using my Silhouette.I used JustRite's Honeycomb background stamp and embossed it in white.  I gave it color using Tim Holtz inks. The sentiment is part of SRM's Spring Sentiment collection and was mounted on an oval die.  I wanted to "frame" it, so I created a cluster of flowers using JustRite's Floral Trio dies.  I also added Tonic's white dimensional paint to the flowers' centers.  The pretty silk ribbon is from the Stamp Simply store.

I am so excited that both my kiddos are coming home for the weekend! It will be so nice to have a full house for a few days!
Have a lovely day!
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit!

Using Copic Markers to Add Dimension

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning my friends! I have a card that was published quite awhile ago in Northridge Magazine.  It used the Cricut to cut the circles and flamingos.  I wanted to add a bit of depth to them, and Copic markers were a perfect way to do that!  I added shadows to their legs and bodies.  The background was  also done using Copics to create a sunset of sorts.  I then stamped a sentiment from JustRite, then added a bit of sand at the bottom to finish it off.
Created by Michele Kovack
We are finishing up Cortney's room this weekend.  It's a lovely shade of purple!
I think she will be very surprised when she comes home for Easter!
It will be so nice to have both of my kiddos home for the entire weekend!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
