Spring...

As most of you know, I can't throw any of my extra Cricut cuts away! They start to pile up on my desk, until finally, they scream to me to use them! I decided to incorporate them with this sweet image from Crafty Secrets.   It is part of their Birds and Botanicals Jouraling Booklet.  The leaves were left over from the Heritage Cartridge, the flowers from Flower Shoppe, and the frame from Elegant Edges. I put them all together with the addition of a few feathers, tulle, a glittery egg, a bit of lace, pearls, and some embossing......and this is the end result!
I love for all angles to look pretty....so I added the pearl to hide the knot in the bow....
A glittery egg on a stick pin......

We have a busy weekend ahead of us.  Cortney has her first little modeling gig tomorrow! It is for a local business and an amazing  photographer......I will explain more after her pictures are done! ; ) We are also attending a wedding, and hopefully finding a bit of time to swim in our pool.  Although right now it is this lovely shade of green.......ick!
I hope you have a wonderful, restful Memorial weekend!
Hugs to all of you !

More Easter Wishes!

Good morning and happy Monday to you! It is back to reality for me.....time to make the "doughnuts" so to speak! LOL! It's okay, I love my job and miss my students and fellow teachers! I can't imagine going to work everyday at a place you dislike.....I am truly blessed!

I have another Easter project to share with you. They are little paint can treat holders that I created for the Cricut Circle last year. It uses the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge.  I used Elegant Edges to create a pretty lacy cover for around the can.  The tag was cut using the Sentimental's cartridge.
I used a flocking embossing powder on their bodies. It gives it a subtle texture. The flocking medium is by Tim Holtz.
You can see the texture here a little more clearly. : ) Glitter was added to their bunny ears.....you knew I had to sneak that in somewhere! ; )
My girl brought this home the other day. I love that her school encourages the arts, even with all of the varying abilities at her school. With my kids getting older, I don't get these cute projects very often anymore.....so I relish the ones I do get.

Have a wonderful day! Tomorrow will start all the new releases by JustRite, so be sure to check back!

Puppy Love

I know it's been awhile since I've shared a scrappy page with you all......so I thought I'd sneak one in! I created this page about my lil' pup Skippers for the October issue of Cricut Magazine. This little guy was rescued from the animal shelter and has crawled right into our hearts.  He is such a smart, loving dog.  We were definitely at the right place and time when we spotted him.
I used the George and Basic Shapes cart to cut all of my hearts and circles.  The hearts were stitched down the middle and folded up to give it a bit of dimension.  The pretty scalloped border was cut using the Elegant Edges cartridge.
The little dog house came from the Everyday Paper Dolls cart.  The dog was cut from the Sweethearts cartridge.  I added a few paw print stamps to his sweet face.
Cortney was great at the dentist the other day! Fortunately, her baby tooth was being stubborn and needed a bit of help coming out.  So the dentist helped it along and she was a real trooper!
Have a great day my friends!

Ladybug Votives

Good morning! Last year I made a home decor item for the Cricut Circle and I decided on votive candles. I love the look of votives throughout the house. It gives my home a warm and cozy feel to it. (And it's great for camouflaging the fact that my house would certainly NOT pass the white glove test! LOL!)  I used Martha Stewart's All Occasion Cake Art cartridge and cut my ladybugs at 1 3/4"  There was no shadow image available so I adhered my ladybug to black paper and cut carefully all the way around.
I love using twine on almost all of my projects.  It just adds a perfect finishing touch! The flower was cut using the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge.
The frame was cut using Elegant Edges and was glittered.   I used it to help "ground" my ladybug.
I love the idea of the electric votives.....there are no worries about starting a fire!
Have a great day! Thank you so much for stopping by to pay me a visit!

ColorArtz and Cricut Stencil

Good morning and TGIF! I am relieved it is the weekend once again. I need a bit of R and R! We have dinner plans for Saturday, but otherwise no other commitments. Sometimes the running around starts to wear me down!

I have a card today that seems a bit out of place for this time of year, but I hadn't posted it and wanted to make you aware of a new product by ColorArtz. It works in conjunction with the Cricut Stencil cartridge and works great on fabric, glass, paper etc. I chose to create a card, but I've seen many cool home decor projects done with it! You simply cut the image using your Cricut and use the negative space on the paper to create the stencil.  Then the fun part begins.  Place your ink in the ColorArtz tool and spray your colors on! It's super easy and gives such fun results!
The frame was cut using the Elegant Edges Cartridge and popped up with dimensional foam circles.  I added some machine stitching, rhinestones, and seam binding.  The tag was cut using the Sentimentals Cartridge. I added another rhinestone and a small piece of twine to finish it off!
I hope you have a wonderful relaxing weekend!  Thank you as always for popping by!  I am hoping this weekend to repay your visits! : )

Bless Your Little Heart

Good morning to you! I had a wonderful and busy weekend with my family. Kyle turned 15 on Saturday and we took him out to one of his favorite restaurants and to see Sherlock Holmes. Sunday was spent at home getting caught up on a few things and doing a bit of creating in my room!

I have a Crafty Secret's card to share with you today. I used an image from the Childhood Image Journal Booklet.  I outlined it in silver Stickles.  The border of hearts was cut using my Cricut Expression and the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I added some pom pom trim behind it for a bit of whimsy!
I created my own ruffle with satin ribbon and red line tape.  I made two ruffles and then stacked them.  I adhered it to the heart border and tied a bit of silk ribbon around it.  I tied a bit of twine and added a stick pin complete with alphabet letters.

I am dragging a bit this morning to get to work.  It must be Monday. ; )
Have a great day!  Thank you so much for paying me a visit!
