Whimsy Stamp's January Release!

I have fallen in love with this sweet bear family. 💗
They are part of the new Bearly Hanging on set.  I stamped it with waterproof ink on water color paper.  I masked the image off and used a cloud stencil for the background.  I splattered it with white acrylic paint for a dreamy effect.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white.  The image itself was colored using Karin Brushmarkers.  Once it was dry, I added glossy accents and glitter to the moon.
I used the new 6 x 6 paper pack, Baby Bear.  I used a teeny heart from the Sweetheart Sprinkletz collection.
Be sure to check out the entire release over at Whimsy!
Thank you for stopping by!

Whimsy Stamp's Release Day!

Hello! Today is Whimsy Stamp's Release Day! I am sharing an adorable new set called, Bunny Babies.  For the first card I used the small sailboat and stamped it all over using a Versafine waterproof ink.  I used Karin Brushmaker Pro Markers. Once it was dry, I splattered it with white acrylic ink.  I water colored a strip of card stock and stamped it in Versamark.  I embossed it in white. I added a couple of Sparkletz Hearts, tied a bit of twine for that added "nautical" look, and used Stickles on the stars.
The second card uses the main image and was stamped with a Copic friendly ink, Memento black. I colored the background in black and added "stars" with a white gel pen and a gold pen. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it in white. I added a few teeny hearts from the Sprinkletz-Sweetheart collection.  As a finishing touch, I tied ribbon vertically in a pop of red.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by! Be sure to check out the rest of the release by Whimsy!

PolyChromo Pencils and a Baby Card!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning friends!
By the time this is posted I will be taking off for San Francisco! I am nervous and excited all at the same time!  My life has changed so much the last few months and I am finally starting to enjoy the free time I have.  (And not feel guilty as many of us moms do). I know my girl is happy and well taken care of. My heart is finally in a better place.
So soon, I will be like a honeymooner with my hubby, exploring California.
Before I left I created this card for my neighbor who just had a baby boy.
I have been having so much fun pulling out old stamps that have been collecting dust for years.
This one is by Whipper Snapper.
Created by Michele Kovack
I used my Polychromo pencils to color the image and create the tile background, along with a white gel pen. The tag was given a wash of water colors using my Zig markers.  I added a bit of ribbon and a few Dew Drops. Oh! and a bit of sparkle to the bubbles using Stickles.

Have a great rest of your week!
Thank you for making me a part of your day! :)

Welcome Little One!

I totally forgot to post this last card I had created for JustRite's November release! The set is called, Arriving Soon, and is perfect for the arrival of a new little human!
I created the background with a dot stencil and Tim Holtz inks in purples and blues.
Created by Michele Kovack
I cut the stars out using my Spellbinder's die, lining it with a piece of acetate, using foam tape around the perimeter, and filling it was sequins.  I stamped the moon with black ink and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I used the extra star behind the moon.  It was glittered using glossy accents.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum using Staz On ink.  I added silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store.

I have to keep this short and sweet today as I am writing this before I head to work!
:)
Have a wonderful day my friends!
Thanks for keeping me company!

Mommy to Be and Other Misc. Stuff!

Good morning!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I had a busy weekend of golfing, birthdays, and Father's Day!
Today's card was a card I had created awhile back for Northridge Publishing's Cricut Magazine.  I just gave it to Cortney's teacher who is expecting her first baby in the fall.
It was created using two cartridges, Baby Shower and New Arrival.
I used a variety of designer papers against the black to make it pop a bit.  (no pun intended! HA!)
It has been busy around here for sure!
Last weekend was my niece's dance recital and I finally edited a couple of the pictures from it.
She loved wearing her ballet dress!
I adore her coy expression here.....
This weekend was Brian's birthday and of course Father's Day.  Brian and I are lucky enough to have both our dads to celebrate with.  Here is my Father in law. :)
And my birthday boy!
And my dad......
I have lots more to share with you since my camera has been on overload lately!  But I don't want to overwhelm you! ;)
Cort and  I are off to her orthopaedic doctor for a check up today.  It is an hour drive and takes up most of the day.  She will need surgery in the next year and I am waiting to see when the doctor thinks it will be the appropriate time.
Have a wonderful day my friends!

Prince Charming

Babies.
There is nothing sweeter.
We have had something in our drinking water at school I think, because we've had lots of babies this past year.  :)
Which was fine by me because I love making baby cards!
I created this baby boy card in last year's issue of Cricut Magazine.
It uses the Lite B is for Boy, cartridge.
In CCR I welded the onesie together to create the card shape.
I added a sentiment and a little cameo brad to add a few special touches to the card.
And speaking of "baby" boys, mine is going to prom this upcoming weekend.  The suit has been bought, the shoes shined, haircut tonight, and my camera charging.
I am proud of him for asking a girl because that is totally out of his comfort zone.
They are just friends, which is even better.
So be prepared to see my blog blow up with pictures of my "baby" this weekend.
Off to lunch and a bit of shopping today!
Have a great day my friends!

Baby Girl Pop-Up Card

I was lucky enough to spend part of this past  weekend with girlfriends.
We crafted, chatted, shopped, went to dinner, and laughed our butts off!  These are times I treasure and feel blessed to have such great friends in my life. I had yesterday off and it became my sort of "catch up" day.  I got a lot accomplished and got to things that had been nagging at me for weeks.
:)
I have a card to share with you today that was published in Northridge Magazine. It uses the Everyday Pop Up Cards cartridge.
I used paper from Papertrey Ink and decorated the pram with bits of lace, pearls, paper fringe, and glossy accents.
The best part of the card is when you open it and the sentiment pops out at you. I added glitter to the letters and some red line tape that was sprinkled with glitter as well.
It is back to reality for me today........work.  But I think I can handle this 4 day work week thing. ;)
Have a great day my friends!!

Ahhhhh Babies.....

Babies. Just the one word conjurs up memories..... How long ago it all seems. Our late night feedings, the smell of their sweet little fuzzy heads, the cuddles, their insatiable curiosity as they grew.  And then..........they become TEENAGERS!!! Boy, oh boy, God really knew what he was doing didn't he? ; )

I created these invitations using the Imagine and the Nursery Tales cartridge.  I printed the actual invite on vellum that was run through my printer. I placed a strip of green paper under, "It's a Baby Shower" to help it pop a bit.
And since I always feel my cards need a little something "extra"  I decided to make Shrinky Dink baby bottles to tie onto my satin bow. : )
I am looking forward to a quiet weekend puttering around at home.  I am in the fall cleaning mode and want to organize and purge......
I am hoping too, to take "after" pictures of my basement so I can show you the transformation it went under. I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Have a wonderful (not too rainy) Labor Day weekend!

Baby Girl

Lately, I've been surrounded with people having babies! One teacher I work with just had a baby girl and another teacher is expecting. What a magical time it is.....

I love making baby cards! (especially girl baby cards!; )  I created this card last year for the Cricut Circle Blog.  It was a card created to showcase the Embossing Plus, Brocade Window set and the Vintage Collage set.  I embellished it with a flowers cut from the Flower Shoppe Cartridge.

I added a tag cut from the Sentimental's cartridge. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink.  I also used a bit of seam binding, twine, and some flower stamens I had in my stash.
I am going for a haircut tonight and am getting some strawberry blonde streaks put in.  I've never been one to color my hair, but wanted to try it for a bit of fun! I hope I don't regret it! ; )
