Cutting Cafe' Winner and a Color Scheme!
Good morning and happy weekend to you! First I want to announce the winner of the Cutting Cafe' giveway! Random.org chose number 14!!! (For some reason I can't get it to copy and paste to my blog.)
This means Crystal is the winner!
She said: "OOOOO WEEE Michele I LOVE this the lemons look FABULOUS and the added sparkle for sugar SOOOOO CREATIVE!!!! AWESOME work sweetie! "
Congrats Crystal!!! : )
I have a fun color scheme for you today! I found this picture on the Better Homes and Gardens web page. I loved all the white space with dashes of pink, green, and orange. So I decided to use this is as inspiration for a page about Cortney.
Cortney loves the water. She lives for the water. She is a fish in the water! Her little crippled body becomes FREE in the water! So every year I have to take pics of her participating in her favorite activity. I used Noel's Sun-Kissed kit (sold out) and my Cricut H20 cartridge to create the sun. I kept the LO clean and simple. (Which is a pretty big change from my usual "layered like crazy" LO's!)
I inked the edges of the sun and hand stitched the perimeter. I love the depth and interest it adds.
I also added clear buttons tied with brightly colored twine and clear Dew Drops to emulate water.

New JustRite Sets and Last Day for Blog Candy!
Good morning! I have a new JustRite set to share with you today! All week JustRite has been posting about all of their new Christmas sets! Unfortunately, I've been behind the eight ball this week and haven't posted until today! So be sure to click HERE to see ALL of the new sets! Just when I think they can't get any better.....they do! The set I am showing today is called Christmas Nested Frames! I love that these stamps are rectangular and fit inside one another! It makes cardmaking so easy....no coloring....just stamp, layer, and voila!
I decided on this particular sentiment......Hearts come home for the Holidays. I took it quite literally and added a Spellbinder's heart behind it. I stamped the sentiment in Papertrey Ink's Poppy Red. The 2 borders were stamped in New Leaf and Chartreuse. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Frayed Burlap. The scalloped oval is a Jenni Bowlin Journaling spot.

I added some twine....also from Papertrey Ink. The rhinestones are from Imaginisce's I-Rock. (My favorite new tool!) I did a bit of scoring with Scor-Pal. It adds a subtle touch without being overwhelming.
Don't forget tonight I draw a winner for the Cutting Cafe' Giveaway! So be sure to click HERE to throw your name in the "hat!"

Cutting Cafe' Giveaway!
It is time for another Cutting Cafe' giveaway!!! The very generous Regina is letting us give one of her super cute sets away....and all you have to do is leave a comment. Easy right? You can tell me what you are up to, what your weekend plans are, vent about the hubster, the kids...whatever your heart desires! : ) I chose this sweet set called, For the Love of Lemons, because we certainly get enough "lemons" in our life don't we? : ) (This set includes 20 images!)
I colored these lemons with Copics and added crystal lacquer and rhinestones. (Because we all need lemons with bling....wouldn't you agree? ) The paper is by Cosmo Cricket Delovely. I just love the bright summery colors of this paper!

Girl Lions Don't have Manes......
Good morning! It is going to be another busy day today as it extremely necessary to get my gluteus maximus to school today. I need to get my desks and books in order, put up my posters and bulletin boards and take inventory on what I need to purchase at the teacher's store. On top of that Kyle has a summer class at our local community college, and I have to register Cort for high school.
So today, just to show you how very "blond" I am at times.....I created this JustRite card with the Let's Celebrate set. I thought I was very clever adding a tiny bow and bling to this lion's hair. Perfect for a girl's birthday right? Then it dawned on me......girl lions don't have manes! Oh well....consider it my artistic interpretation! : )
Paper is from Papertrey Ink and was stamped with Papertrey Ink's Hibiscus. All layers were cut using Spellbinder's Scalloped Square. The hibiscus layer is actually felt. The image was colored with Copic markers. The ribbon on top was actually purchased at Michaels and is their brand. : )
So off I go to school........ : )
