New York is Always a Good Idea!

Good morning!  I've been in my craft room here and there creating in between working at school.  Open house is Thursday and I close to being ready!
I used this cute Newton's Nook stamp. I stamped him on kraft paper and colored his shirt in two shades of Copic markers.  I added fur with a white gel pen.
I wanted to mix the title up a bit, so I die cut part of the sentiment using Lawn Fawn's alphabet set. I cut red paper and added glossy accents to it.  I stamped the rest of the sentiment from the Newton's Nook set on white paper.
I drew the heart in with a black thin marker and colored it with the same shades of blue Copic markers.  I adhered a few black sequins and star sequins to finish it off.
Two years ago, Brian and I visited New York for the first time.  We fell in love with the city's energy! This was my absolute favorite picture with Times Square behind us!
Thank you for popping by!

Colored Pencils and Stamping!

Good morning to you! I have a card today on the SRM Blog that I created when my house (and life) were in complete chaos! All of my craft stuff was packed away in a million boxes, but I had found the box that contained my coloring mediums.  I actually went to Michaels and found this stamp and purchased it.  I sat and colored it with my Prisma Colored pencils and it felt so good to be a little creative!

Now that my craft room is together I was able to finish the card.  I stamped it with SRM's Big Hello set in black ink and my Mini Misti, so I could get a crisp dark impression.  I also added a few stitch lines from SRM's Stamped Stitches set.
For my finishing touchs, I added a bit of coordinating ribbon and a button. The plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn.
Happy Hump day today too!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Lawn Fawn and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog Hop!

Good morning and happy Friday to you!
I am excited to be participating in a blog hop between Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Lawn Fawn!
For my post today I used this cute set called, On the Mend.  (So popular that it is sold out at the moment! )
This set was so cute that I ended up making 3 cards with it!  The first one uses Zig Clean Color Markers, water color paper, and a bit of masking.  I used my Mini Misti to line up the sentiment and added a few sequins using Dodz-mini.  The layers were adhered using my favorite Crafty Foam Tape.

This second card is a one layer card.  I stamped the images, masked them, and layered a stencil over it.  I used a Tim Holtz ink to get those cute polka dots.  Then I removed my masks.  I Copic colored the images and attempted my first wood grain table.  ;)  I once again added sequins with Dodz-mini
For my third card, I stamped a bunch of the Band Aids.  I work with 9 year olds, and have learned that Band Aids make EVERYTHING better! ;)  I adhered my sentiment and colored panel with Crafty Foam Tape.  I also added sequins.  (There is definitely a pattern here I think! LOL)
Be sure to stop by the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog and the Lawn Fawn blog for your chance to win some great prizes!
I am off to a scrapbook weekend with my friends! I am ready for a bit of coloring therapy and girlfriend therapy!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Fun Shaker Card!

Good morning!  I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog with a fun shaker card!
I borrowed this cute stamp from my Mother in Law.  I believe it is a Stampin' Up! set.  I colored it using Copic markers.  I added a few details with a white gel pen.
I cut the image with two Spellbinder's rectangle dies.  I adhered my acetate to the back  and built it up using Crafty Foam tape. I added my sequins and adhered the main image behind it. The entire shaker was adhered to Lawn Fawn's plaid paper.  I tied satin string at the top and thought it would be fun to add 3 teeny pom poms to the center.  I used Dodz to adhere them.
My sweet girl comes home for a week today.  Tomorrow she is having an MRI and a 24 hour EEG to check her seizure activity.  She has been on Depakote most of her life and unfortunately it is hard on the liver and detrimental to her bones.  (she already has osteopenia) So we are hoping that if her seizures have stopped (she hasn't had one in over 5 years) that we may be able to pull her off her medication.  We will be spending the night at the hospital.  Prayers are appreciated!

Pencils on Kraft Paper

Good morning! I have a card up on the SRM Blog using the new Heaven & Earth stamp set.  I stamped the clouds, mountains, and sentiment in Versamark ink and embossed it in white.  I filled in the mountain tops using a Reminisce white gel pen.  With colored pencils I gave the clouds and mountains color. I LOVE the look of colored pencils on kraft paper.
I wanted the sun to peek out from under the clouds, so I drew my own in.  I adhered a gold together sticker. under the word rejoice.  I tied twine to the top and glued a small gold heart to its center.
Thank you so much for popping by today!!
Have a wonderful day!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Good morning! I am excited to be participating in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with TWO companies! SRM Stickers and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  My first card uses a  brand new set by SRM called, Coffee Plans. I loved the images so much I decided to use ALL of them on my card! I cut the circles in various sizes, gave them a hint of color with Copics, added glossy accents and glitter.  I sponged a bit of ink around each one as well so it wasn't so stark looking.

My second card uses the same set, but since I had a digital copy of it before it was released, I resized it.  I loved the larger size and colored it with Prisma colored pencils.  I added a bit of Stickles for some sparkle.  I adhered a little felt heart using Dodz-small and layered everything with Crafty Foam tape.  (My most favorite adhesive EVER!)

My last card once again uses the same set.  I colored my cups with Copics and adhered them to a heart.  (because I love coffee so much! LOL!) I added another felt heart.  I layered everything with some patterned paper from Lawn Fawn.

Thank you for stopping by!  I LOVE your visits! Have a wonderful day!

Copic Coloring

Good morning!  It is hard to believe, but today is my last day of school!  Unfortunately, last week I came down with a nasty case of bronchitis and had to take Friday off.  (Fever, coughing etc)  Which seemed utterly ridiculous knowing I only had ONE day left.  But my body couldn't make it through a whole day!  I am still coughing, but at least the fever and body aches are gone.  And I've been on antibiotics now for 5 days.  I HAVE to get better.....Heading to VEGAS on Thursday!

I borrowed this stamp set from my Mother in law....and typical Michele style forgot to write down who makes it.  I will need to ask her and edit this post later.  (Unless you know, which in that case leave a comment below! ;)
I love to color and I really took my time with her.  I wanted to preserve those highlights in her hair and pleats in her dress.  I was pleased with how the bear's fur looked too!
I added her to layers of this sweet Lawn Fawn paper.  ( I can't get enough of it!)

I adhered a few sequins, satin ribbon, and a vellum flower to finish off the card.

I really do appreciate you stopping by this very sporadic blog over here!
Have a wonderful day my friends!

Cupcakes and Copics!

Good morning!
I am on the final countdown to the end of the school year!  9 days left!
I am looking forward to the slower paced schedule this summer and having the time to do a bit more crafting.....and blogging.  ;)
I borrowed a bunch of stamps and images from a friend of mine at a crop we went to.  I should have been more organized and wrote down the names of the companies.  But stamps are like shiny objects to me!  I saw this cupcake and went , "Ooooooh a Cupcake!!"  Who needs to bog themselves in details like who makes it?  LOL!
After coloring the image with Copic markers, I added a bit of gold scalloped trim and then adhered the entire thing to this cute plaid Lawn Fawn paper.  I added a few gold sequins as well as gold cording.
If you happen to know who makes this stamp, please leave a comment here.  I almost think it might be a MFT stamp?
Anywho.....have a great day!

Stampin' Up! Happy Easter!

Good morning!
I need to get an assistant, I think, to help me get these blog posts up!  ;)
But in any event, I got my booty on the computer and managed to squeak in this card!
I borrowed this cute Stampin' Up set from my Mother-in-law and colored it with Copic markers.  I added a bit of glimmer with a Wink of Stella pen.
The cute plaid paper is from Lawn Fawn.  I added a bit of satin ribbon, a pink posie, and a few sequins.
Thank you for stopping by!

Dog-Gone Awesome!

Good morning!
Congrats to Margaret Rajca for taking advantage of Rodan + Field's bundle! She will receive the egg carton full of goodies! :)

Today I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog with another doggy card using this adorable Whipper Snapper image.  I have been on quite the coloring kick lately!  I did a bit of "stippling" on the grass. I used my Mini Misti to line up the sentiment.  (Otherwise mine were ALWAYS wonky!)
I used Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Foam Tape between layers for added dimension and Dodz-Mini to adhere the sequins and keep the bow in place.
doggone awesome4
I love this plaid paper from Lawn Fawn too! So bright and springy!

I am really glad it is Friday.....and can't wait to kick back a bit this weekend!
Any plans for you?  Anything fun and exciting?

Blog Hop With Lawn Fawn-Day 2

Hello and Welcome to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®  Lawn Fawn blog hop!  Make sure you check both blogs for tons of inspiration and prizes this week!

I created this interactive shaker card using Lawn Fawn's, So Smooth stamp set.  It is soooooo cute!! I stamped each image on water color paper and colored them in using Copic markers.  I masked off the images and sponged ink around it using Tim Holtz inks.  I splattered it with a bit of water.
I used Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Foam tape and their double sided tape to create the shaker portion of the card.  First, I adhered the acetate to the tri-cut panel using the double sided tape.  Then placed Crafty Foam Tape over that to give the shaker a bit of depth.  It really allows the sequins to have a bit of room to shake about!
I placed the shaker card on layers of card stock and this cute plaid paper by Lawn Fawn called, Perfectly Plaid Petite paper.  For my final touch I tied pink Girlie Grunge twine vertically.
Remember to pop over to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®  + Lawn Fawn blogs to check out all the projects today and be eligible for prizes!  There will be inspiration like crazy all week long!
Thank you so much for popping by today!

Happiness is Fall! (And TWO cards!)

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning my friends!
Today is my birthday and I am a happy gal! I went out last night with the hubby for dinner and a show.  We saw Sully....and it was really a great movie! I feel like we are dating all over again! ;)
Tonight I celebrate with my mom and then my birthday will spill into next week too! ;)

I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog with TWO cards to celebrate fall! They are in two very different color schemes, but the process was identical.
Created by Michele Kovack
I cut a 3 x3 square panel and sponged various Tim Holtz inks.  I adhered Scrapbook Adhesive's 3D Foam leaves in a random pattern.  Anything hanging over was cut off.  I peeled the tops of the leaves off to reveal the sticky adhesive and sprinkled glitter over them.  I adhered coordinating sequins using Dodz-Mini.
Created by Michele Kovack
I cut a strip of vellum and used alphabet letters from my very old and vintage Quickutz! I sponged the bottom of the letters With Tim Holtz distress inks and added glossy accents.  I adhered SRM's sticker over the top and attached it to the card front with Dodz-Mini.  For my final step I layered everything with Crafty Foam Tape and tied a vertical piece of twine. The patterned paper by the way, is by Lawn Fawn!

I love how different they look!

Remember You are Loved....

We all need a reminder once in awhile.  Life has a way of knocking the wind out of your sails sometimes.  This card is just that. A reminder.
The set is a brand new set by JustRite called, Remember You Are.  I stamped the flowers in two colors, red and pink.  The image was cut from a Spellbinder's circle and while the die was in place I sponged a bit of yellow and pink Tim Holtz inks. I splattered the image with a bit of silver Heidi Swap paint.
Created by Michele Kovack
The background was also water colored.  The circle die is by Lawn Fawn and that was water colored too.  (Why stop now?) ;)  I added gold cording and a bit of gold paper behind the image.  I also added a few sequins.
Created by Michele Kovack
There is so much to share with you, but lately my time has been quite limited.  But I will tell you because many of you asked.....and I didn't mean to leave you hanging, that Brian has to have his gallbladder taken out.  We are hoping that the surgery will be scheduled next week.  He is still having quite a bit of discomfort.
The rest I will tell you soon. I just need a bit of time to get my thoughts together.
Thank you for stopping.
Thank you for leaving comments.....sometimes it gets a bit lonely over here. ;)
Have a wonderful day!!

70th Birthday!

Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Yesterday we celebrated my dad's 70th birthday!

I created as manly of a card as I possibly could! Masculine is not my strong suit! ;) I feel lost without ribbon and glitter! LOL!
I used a Lawn Fawn number die with water color paper and while the die was in place sponged Tim Holtz inks on top of it.  I splashed water on it to get the cool pooling effect.
Created by Michele Kovack
The numbers 7 and 0 were given a coating of black enamel as well as the birthday sentiment from Spellbinders.  I added a piece of acetate behind the panel, some foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, and a generous helping of sequins to create the shaker element.
Created by Michele Kovack
I took a few pics from yesterday.....and this one of my dad and Cort is my favorite!

My sister, dad, and I.

My dad with the four grandchildren.

I am off to work!
