Scrap & Stamp's challenge this week is to create a friendship theme, and the sponsor this week is Lizzie Anne Stamps!!! If you want to play along, you have a chance of winning an adorable Lizzie Anne Stamp set! In addition to that we have our very first GDT member......Rose Anne Reynolds of Paper Delightz! (What a rock star she is! And a sweetie to boot!) And the last bit of news? Scrap & Stamp has decided to do weekly challenges! This means more blog candy and more fun! Woot woot!
Now on to my friendship LO! Remember THIS picture? I altered it a bit in Photoshop using a Chocolate Black & White action. (Learned this in Michelle Lanning's Photo Editing Cheats class!) I love how it turned into such a warm black and white photo. The girls suits and background were a bit distracting before! I used Noel's Five Foot Two kit (sold out) for most of this LO. The butterflies are by Sweet 'n Sassy (In His Time set) . I stamped those on a newsprint transparency with Staz on. Then I cut the butterflies out with good scissors and folded their wings up. I then added some itty bitty rhinestones to their bodies. The flowers were homemade. I got the directions from a Martha Stewart magazine. The directions will be found HERE tomorrow. (Sunday, August 2). They were easy to make and I love how they added just a little somethin' somethin!
Love these gorgeous butterflies!
My thoughts and ideas for cardmaking and an occasional altered project!

Crafty Secrets and Blog Candy Winner!
I don't know about anyone else, but I have a hard time remembering where I post stuff. I am praying I didn't post this card here, only at SCS. If I did......then go ahead and head off to someone else's blog! LOL! Does anyone else have trouble? OR is it just me?
Well if you've decided to humor me and stay through this post......then let me give you the deets on this card. I used Crafty Secret's Sew Special set. I colored the image twice with Copics, and placed pop dots between the layers for some dimension. I was given some old patterns for sewing and decided to incorporate that into my background.
The tissue paper is fairly thin so I glued the edges to a piece of card stock and then sewed that to the black card stock. I added some black tulle to her skirt along with a ribbon and rhinestone. To create the skirt, I cut a piece of rectangular tulle, folded it over and did a loose straight stitch. When you get to the end, you pull the thread until it is gathered to the waist size you need. I wanted to add a sentiment but didn't want to cover up the background so I opted for a simple tag "grounded" on a red piece of ribbon.

2 Sketches 4 You!
JustRite is sponsoring 2 Sketches 4 You this week and I was so excited to play along! Kazan and Laura have the best card sketches! I used JustRite's newest set called Autumn Blessings. I colored the image in with my Copics. The image was cut out using my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. I distressed the edges with a sponge and Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap. The DP is by SU! I also added a felt flower and Papertrey button to dress it up a bit.
If you would like a chance to win a $100.00 gift certificate to JustRite, create a card using Laura's sketch and head on over HERE!

Sympathy, Braces, & Blog Candy!
Kind of a hodge podge post today...... : )
I am starting with a sympathy card I made a couple of months ago and never posted. Cortney's Occupational therapist's father passed away, so I made this card for her using SU!'s, From the Garden set. I embossed the image in gold and then tried my hand at watercoloring. This is definitely a medium I need to improve on! I added some pearls to the center and used the Spellbinder's tags for the sentiment. I did airbrush it a little to give the tag a bit of color. The gold cording is also from SU!
Kyle got his braces on the other day......so here is my official "teenager!" He is already claiming that he can tell his teeth are moving............yea, ok.
Don't forget to put your name in the "hat" for my blog candy! I think I forgot to mention when I would pull a name.......how about Thursday night? Let's say around 9 PM? Work for you? : ) Alrighty then!

A Blog Hop & Blog Candy!
It's that time of the month again.....for the BBTB blog hop! This week's design was to use the "couple" cut from the Going Places cartridge. I decided to create an anniversary/wedding card with it. I used vintage book paper for the couple and distressed their edges with black ink. The paper is SU! and Basic Grey. I added a few pops of red for interest with the heart and brads. I used a part of the sentiment from the JustRite Something Sweet Set. (Not yet released because it is actually a Christmas set) I used two different circular Nesties to cut it out. I cut the ends to look like a banner. I couldn't get my sewing machine to actually sew on the card ( I think something to do with the tension), so I just used it to pierce the card stock.
I am giving a few summer treats away to one lucky winner. This is what you will get:
