Easter Chicks

Today is Friday!  I made it! Whew!  I am off all next week, and I am as happy as a pig in mud....or a crafty gal in a scrapbook store! ;)
I have a lil' retro Easter card that uses this darling image from Crafty Secret's Digital Spring Chicks.  I colored it with  Copic markers.  The edges were given a bit of distressing using Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink.  The eggs were from the Crafty Secret's     Victorian Floral Easter Eggs digital collection.  They were hand cut, inked, and glittered. My designer paper here is part of the Crafty Secret's Creating with Vintage Patterns digital collection.  I love resizing the patterns smaller into something that works great with cards!
I added a bit of seam binding and Forget Me Nots to finish it off.
It's another short and sweet post!  It's my last day of work, and this gal has to get a' move on!
Have a fabulous weekend my friends!

Easter Basket

Good morning to you!  It has been a whirlwind of a week!  I am so glad that today after school, I have nowhere to be!  I am looking forward to coming home, putting on some comfy pants and relaxing!

I have a little Easter basket to show you today that uses this cute cut from the Silhouette store.  Do you remember weaving paper place mats when you were a kid?  This is reminiscent of that!  I love kraft and pink together and chose these colors to match my little tag. This beautiful vintage tag is from the Victorian Easter Eggs Digital Kit by Crafty Secrets.
I added a bit of lace to the basket and some Melissa Frances paper fringe to the inside.
I added a bit of seam binding and some Forget Me Nots.......
I am off and running this morning.....but fortunately spring break is next week.  I will be able to relax a bit then!  :)
Have a great day!

JustRite Papercraft and Faber Castell Mixed Media Blog Hop! Day Two!

Are you ready for more fun with JustRite and Faber Castell?
I have a card to share with you today that totally has the spring vibe.....I'm hoping to spread some hints to Mother Nature!  ;) I am sneak peeking a new set called Floral Thank you that is coming out in April by JustRite.  I used a direct to rubber method using Stamper's Big Brush Pens from Faber Castell.  I used Cobalt Blue, Light Blue, May Green, and Chrome Yellow.
I love adding interest to my cards, and creating a tile look was just what I was looking for.
I have a step by step tutorial on how I created the above card.  But please be for-warned that some of my pictures depict me as a non-manicured, messy, inky, gal who really needs to clean her Versamark pads once in awhile!

First you will need Faber Castell's markers.  Just color your stamp with the markers.  Give it a few good huffs to remoisten the ink and stamp your image.
Cut the image into 1 inch squares and ink the edges of each square.  ( I used Memento ink in brown)
Yep, there is the messy Versamark and dirty hands. ;)  Get each square "Versamarked" and sprinkle clear embossing powder over it.   If you use a fine embossing powder you may have to repeat this step about 3 times for each square.  If you happen to have ultra thick embossing powder it can be done in one step. Heat it up and watch the magic happen!
Glue your squares onto a background paper of your choice.  While it is drying, I suggest laying a heavy book or lots of scrapbook paper on top so the ends lay flat.

Faber-Castell and JustRite's Mixed Media Blog Hop!

What an exciting two days it's going to be!  JustRite has teamed up with Faber Castell for an educational blog hop.  The designers will not only have awesome projects to share with you, but a tutorial to go with it!  On top of all that goodness, JustRite and Faber Castell are both giving away prizes each day on their blog!
Today's card uses the flower from the Floral Vintage Labels Two set by JustRite.  I paired it up with white embossing powder and Faber-Castell's gelatos.  I used a bit of embossing for texture and a bit of ribbon to finish it off.
I added a blue acrylic flower to pick up the hint of blue in the card.
This card was easy to make and was done in  a few easy steps! Just ink up your image with Versamark and emboss in white.  Use a Faber-Castell's gelatos, water, and a paintbrush to fill in areas of your stamped image. I "smooshed" a bit of the gelato color onto a transparency and added a bit of water. The transparency made a great painter's palette because the water doesn't absorb into it.
I had so much fun working with this product!  Join along in our hop today to see what amazing projects the designers created!
And don't forget to visit the JustRite blog and the Faber Castell blog, for your chance to win some pretty amazing products!

Eat, Drink, & Be Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!  I am spending today in my jammies getting caught up with projects that are due soon, and  a couple of tutorials.  I guess there are worse ways to spend my day right? ;)
I have a card to share with you that uses my Cricut and the Spring Holiday Cards cartridge.  I did a bit of machine stitching and added liquid applique for my foam.  (Oh! And I snuck a little glitter in there too!)
I created a clover button by cutting multiple layers of the same cut, stacking them, gluing them, and punching two holes to tie my twine through.
I am going to keep this super short, as my craft room is calling me!
Have a great Sunday and St. Patrick's Day!
XOXO
