A Trio of Valentines...and an Update!

Good morning!
I am 5 days away from the big move! My house is about 95% packed and there have definitely been a few tears.....but I am starting to get excited about the new place.
I feel like it is the next chapter in my life!
My time with Scrapbook Adhesives is coming to an end as well.  (So many changes!).
I need to focus on what lies ahead at the moment and will hopefully return to crafting with a vengeance very soon!
Before everything was put away, I found these 3 adorable images from Suzy Plantamura.
Colorful Dimensional and Glittery Valentine Cards by Michele Kovack for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
I Copic colored this one, added some fun white gel pen details over glossy accents and used Crafty Foam tape in between the layers for dimension.
For this next card I used Zig Clean Color Markers and loads of glitter! I added little gems to the centers of the X's  and a silver heart, using a Dodz-mini adhesive dots.
You can see here how much dimension the Crafty Foam Tape gives!
My last card was colored using Copic markers and colored pencil.
I love the detail the white pencil gives to the squirrel! I again added Crafty Foam tape between layers and a Dodz mini to adhere the bow/heart.
This is it for me for a little while. I won't have Internet for about a week in the new house.
Fingers crossed that my closings go smoothly on Friday.
Thank you for your patience with me and for continuing to stop by.
It means the world to me!

Here Fishy, Fishy!

The minute I see fish, I hear Ernie from Sesame Street say, "Here Fishy, Fishy!"  (I've watched ALOT of Sesame Street in my day! ;)
When I am in the mood to color I pull out Suzy Plantamura's images! So sweet and fun!
I used Zig Clean Color Markers to bring them to life!
I added glossy accents to each of them because not only do I love the dimension, I love that intensifies the colors as well!

My Left Over Penguin!

TGIF! I am heading out to Geneva, IL to shop and eat with my girlfriends. It has become a yearly tradition and one that I look forward to! As you know, I have been totally addicted to Suzy Plantamura's cute images! When I don't know what to create, I just pull one of these babies out and BAM! I have an instant card! I used Copics and a white gel pen.

See that cute little penguin?  I had originally stamped him for yesterday's card, but then felt he was too big.  He was sitting on my desk while coloring this card, with his sad puppy dog penguin eyes, just begging to be used.  So I thought to myself, "Self, wouldn't he look cute sitting inside the sand bucket?"  And yes, indeed he does! ;)

Thank you for stopping by today! I will be back with this weekend with another penguin card. ( I figured why stop, while I'm on a roll?)
Have a great Friday my friends!!

Life is Better in Flip Flops!

Hey there my friends! How is your summer so far?
Mine has been spent catching up with family and friends who seem to get somewhat neglected during the colder months of the year.  I love seeing everyone and being outside every chance I can!
I have been taking some images outside and thoroughly enjoying the process of coloring.
Suzy Plantamura's images are perfect for this!
And life really is better in Flip Flops! Unless you have plantar fasciitis! Then you had better wear good supportive shoes! LOL!
I spent all last week with this gal! Lots of swimming and of course a bit of "modeling."
And thank you all for your interest in Rodan + Fields skin care and Lash Boost.  I would never recommend a product I didn't believe in.  And I can honestly say, these products have been a game changer for me.  You have absolutely nothing to lose by trying them.  They ALL come with a 60 day money back guarantee! You can have beautiful radiant skin AND longer, thicker lashes!

Summer Ice Cream!

Good morning!  I have been spending a bit of time in my craft room this past week.  My van is still in the shop, so I've been stranded at home.  (Which might be good, because it forces me NOT to spend money! LOL)
I adore Suzy Plantamura's image! When I am in a creative funk, I take one of these babies out and just enjoy the process of coloring.
For this image I colored everything with Copic markers.
I added glossy accents and some chunky glitter to the ice cream.  When it was dry I flicked a bit of black water color for interest. I adhered it to red card stock. I kept the card simple since I wanted the coloring to take center stage.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Be Mine!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I have a Suzy Plantamura image today to share!
It was part of the Love Notes collection and  I colored it using my Zig Watercolor Markers.
I colored each in a gradient of color for more interest.
I added shadows to each of the hearts and words using several gray Copic markers.  I also used a white gel pen to add some fun highlights and details to the words.
As a final touch I added glossy accents to give it lots of dimension and tied some pink twine to the top!
Valentine's Day at school is always a bit rowdy....but super sweet.  The kids will often write notes in their Valentines to me.  It always reminds me how much I impact their young lives and why I got into teaching in the first place.
:)
Enjoy your day today!!
Sweet wishes to all of you!

Let it Snow.....

Have you missed me?
;)
I'd like to give you a really good excuse why I've been absent for over a week.
I got nothin'.
Lazy?
Busy with other aspects of my life possibly.....not sure exactly.
The weird thing is I have lots of cards to post, I just haven't felt like sitting at my computer to edit them.
Can you come over and do that part for me?
I love using Suzy Plantamura's images.  Especially when I am being lazy.  (There is that L word again!)  I don't have to think too hard....just color and enjoy.  I used a rainbow of Zig markers here.  I did gussy it up a bit with liquid applique, rhinestones, a glittery panel of paper, and some purple string.
My son turned 20 last week. So it is official that I have no teens anymore. It makes you wonder where the time has gone.  Cortney and Kyle come home this week to celebrate his birthday with the family.  It will be sweet to fill this empty house with family.
Brian and I have been toying with the idea of putting our house up on the market.  It just seems too big now.  We've looked at a few houses and had ours appraised.
I am not sure I can emotionally detach from it though.
Anyway that's life in my neck of the woods.
What's going on in yours?

Snowman....

***Edited***
I apologize for not sharing the link to Suzy's cute image.  It is corrected now!  (I was in a hurry when I posted! LOL)

Good morning! I am headed out the door to pick up my girl! Her old cheer leading team invited her to their "big" game to be an honorary cheer leader!  Cort is super excited to be with her friends today doing something she loves!  I will share pics later this week!

Onto my card.....another Suzy Plantamura image.  Seriously addicted to her images.
I colored this snowman with my Copics and added a few fun details with a white gel pen and liquid applique.
I mounted the image on red card stock and tied a vertical black ribbon to finish the card off.
I think I may add a birthday sentiment or something at a later date!

What are you up to this weekend? Any big plans? Whatever you do have a great one!

Christmas Countdown!

Good morning!  Are you ready for Christmas?  Do you have any last minute gifts to buy?
I am in pretty good shape this year and have felt more relaxed about Christmas then I have in a very long time!  And that means more time in the ole' craft room!
I bought bunches of Suzy Plantamura's images over the summer and was excited to break open the Christmas pack!
I colored everything with Copic markers and added a few details with a white gel pen and some glitter.  A simple ribbon at the top was all this fun card needed!
Kyle is home and Cort comes home tonight.  My last day of school is today and I get the pleasure of hanging out with my kids for the next week!
Thank you for stopping by today!

Sunshine in my Heart!

Created by Michele Kovack

Good morning friends!  What a whirlwind of a week it's been!  I started my first week of school and my youngest moved back to college to start his sophomore year.  Brian and I are officially "empty nesters!" (again!)  So now I am trying to clean my house....because those of you with teenage boys, know that they aren't the neatest creatures on the planet! LOL!

Anyway in between laundry, disinfecting, and dusting, I managed to squeak out a card.  Yep, it's another image from Suzy Plantamura.  (Can you say obsessed?) I colored it with my Zig Clean Color Markers and added shadows with a gray Copic.  I also added some highlights with a white gel pen.

It was a quick easy card!
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great Monday!

Here Comes the Sun!

Created by Michele Kovack
I tried posting for an entire week....I really did!  But it was an epic fail!
Life just snuck its way in! ;)
So before I head back to school tomorrow, I have another summery card to share. Which is kind of funny, because while I write this post, I am drinking Pumpkin flavored coffee and burning a Pumpkin spice candle! HA!
I used another one of Suzy Plantamura's images.  It was colored using Zig Water color markers.  I added details with a white gel pen and gray Copic markers.

Created by Michele Kovack
I added a sheer ribbon, a few clear sequins, and some glossy accents.

I have lots of lesson plans to write, so time to get to work!
Thank you for stopping by!

Let's Chill!

Created by Michele Kovack
I missed posting yesterday! ACK!  I tried to be good this week and post EVERY day.....but I failed!
Too much going on this week trying to get last minute doc appts, visiting with friends, getting a tooth fixed...yada yada yada.  You know the drill!
So I am back today with another Suzy Plantamura card.  (ADORE these images!!) I colored this one in with my Zig Clean Color markers.  I added some shadows with gray Copic markers and some sand texture with a white gel pen.
Created by Michele Kovack
I had this chipboard hello and thought it was perfect for this card.  So as usual Kovack style I added boat loads of glitter to it.  I adhered a few sequins and tied a vertical bow with black twine.

I have my school's open house tonight.
The reality of school starting is upon me...... ;)
Thank you for stopping even when I'm a total slacker who makes false promises! LOL!

Some Great Advice!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning! Today is day 2 of my "Final Week of Summer....Summer Cards!" ;)  And this one by Suzy Plantamura has the best saying. Ever.  We all claim to be busy.  (myself included) But we need to slow down and take time for the things...or people that are important.
We all know life is short, but we often forget in the midst of living our "busy" lives.
 Created by Michele Kovack
I colored this card using my Zig Clean Color Markers.  Once it was dry, I used my Copic markers to add shadows and polka dots.  The shadows help the letters pop off the page and give it depth.
The card is so fun and colorful by itself that I kept the embellishments to a minimum.  Just a veritical gingham ribbon, and a bit of glossy accents on some of the words.

I am so glad you stopped by today!!
Thank you!!

A Week of Summer Cards!

Created by Michele Kovack
With great sadness, I tell you that this is my last official week of summer!  School starts next Monday, so the lazy days of no alarm clock, no schedule, and gallivanting around are quickly coming to an end! ;)
LOL! I am okay with it actually.....I had an awesome summer, but I am ready to go back to my kiddos and see my coworkers!
I love, love, love these images by Suzy Plantamura! They are called, Sizzling Series Watercolor Paintable Prints!
I had so much fun coloring them with different mediums.
This one was colored with Copics and given some depth with glossy accents and my white gel pen for the sand.  I added some glitter to the water as well as a scattering of sequins.
Created by Michele Kovack
I will be sharing a summer inspired card each day this week!
I hope you will pop by tomorrow too!
