First Scrap & Stamp Challenge!

Happy Saturday to ya'll! I am heading out to my niece's dance recital later today. She always looks so darn cute in her costume!

Today is the first day of the Scrap & Stamp Challenge! One of our DT members, Pamela Young, designed this fabulous sketch for us! In addition to the sketch we were to create a summer themed LO using two stamped images!

Used the self-inking stamps from JustRite for my title. I colored the letters in with Copics and then added some glitter!

I used this VERY old Inkadinkado sun stamp. I again colored it with Copics, cut it out, and layered it over a Prima flower.

Used some vintage (OLD) Wild Asparagus paper and a large rectangular doily. (Told ya I was addicted to those darn things!)

Proud Mama Moment.....

No creative post today......just a personal post about my boy. He had his 6th grade awards ceremony. I am proud to tell you that he made honor roll all 4 quarters and got a bunch of service awards. He has worked extra hard this year......and really has taken school seriously. He also has a learning disability.........so it has been a big hurdle to overcome. And he did it brilliantly!






Moving on to 7th grade next year!

The teachers that have helped him and advocated for him all year.

I am Ready for Summer Anytime It Would Like to Show Up!

I don't know how the weather is in your part of the woods, but here in Chicago.....it is very cool and rainy! Yesterday and today, the high was in the low 60's and rain. We have gotten a couple of warm "teaser" days here and there......but that's it! I can not tell you how much I want it to get sunny and HOT! (Remind me of these words around mid August will ya?) I want to sip my lemonade (or other cold beverage ; ) by the pool. I want my windows open and the curtains blowing in the breeze. (Unlike tonight where I am tempted to put my heat on!) I WANT SUMMER!!!!

Nothing says summer like an umbrella drink! : )

How About One Last Mother's Day Card?

I have been so busy lately, that my creative time has been seriously shortened! When I do get the chance to create it is like pulling teeth! I sit and stare at the papers.....and nothing, nada, zip.....mojo gone! So I thought I would show you one last Mother's Day card that I never posted. I created this card with absolutely no stamping! I had a bunch of scraps on my desk and they looked pretty good laying next to each other, so one thing led to another, and voila! I did a bit of Cuttlebugging, sewing, and again used a doily. (My favorite product these days!).

*** Would you believe that yesterday, while on the highway, I killed a bird?! No, it didn't fly into my window.....the darn thing was standing in the middle of the road, standing! I thought for sure as I got closer it would fly away. Nope. I killed it.........(accidentally! ) What a horrible feeling! Poor thing! Yep.......I am a bird killer.

Are you tired of seeing my little dog Skippers yet? He is such a willing participant that it is hard not to snap photos of him! (And the fact that he is pretty darn cute doesn't hurt either!) I used Noel Mignon's Penny Arcade kit for this. (Only a few left!)

See? Can't help myself! : )

Both of my kiddos aren't feeling well. The water park was a cess pool of germs.......?? I am hoping they get through their last week.....but we'll see what the morning brings!

A Bitten by the Bug Blog Hop!

This cute mushroom is from the Tinkerbell cartridge. I used Noel Mignon's Rise & Shine kit because I love all the bright colors! I distressed the edges a bit and added some glitter. I used my JustRite set for the sentiment. (A quote by the original Superwoman!)
