Cortney's Dance!

If you are here to see anything crafty.....ain't gonna happen today! Just a few pics of my beautiful girl at her very first dance. .........these blue peepers get me every time! SWOON!

Her very first, very overpriced Hollister outfit..........the ONLY place that had any Hawaiian inspired clothes......

.......and no dance would be complete without her very best friend, Patty. They adore each other......

Did I get any pics of them ACTUALLY dancing? Nope. Sue (Patty's mom) and I were at the restaurant a wee bit too late and got to the dance just as it was ending. Shoot. Next time......during Prom we will get those types of pics! But the gals that took care of our girls said they danced like crazy! Must be why it is nearing 10 o'clock in the morning and Cort is still sleeping!

Song in my Heart by JustRite

Good morning friends! What a whirlwind of a week it has been! And it isn't over yet! Cort has her very first dance tonight. She is going to a Luau at her school. She is going with her very best friend and us moms are headed to dinner while the girls enjoy their night......without us. Tomorrow is a day at my Gram's house, a haircut for Kyle, a bit of shopping, and then Sunday will be here. Sunday is Kyle's confirmation. 2 1/2 hours at the church and then dinner with the family! Busy, busy, busy.......but all good in every way!

I have a another new release by JustRite called Song in My Heart. I love the sayings of this set and the beautiful font!

Can you tell I used many of the same papers I used for the cupcake on Thursday's post? I have this habit lately of using my scraps that are out in front of me and visible! The papers are by Cosmo Cricket, Imaginisce, and Papertrey Ink. I used ovals and a Labels 14 die from Spellbinders to matte the image. The image itself was stamped in Memento. I cut a smaller oval and placed it on top of the sentiment. I then sprayed it with Silver Smooch spray. I removed the oval piece and was left with a pretty silver border! When it was dry, I added glossy accents over the part where I sprayed, and sprinkled it with clear Martha Stewart glitter.

I love how silver and glittery the Smooch and glitter make it! I used another flower I created from the Cuttlebug Daisy Quilling kit. I anchored that to a piece of Tattered Angel's chipboard. That was also sprayed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz, and then covered with glossy accents and glitter. I tied a bit of twine and added a pearl to finish my card. I just had to share a quick little pic of my girl.......getting all gussied up for tonight's dance. We both had our hair done......cuts and she got highlights. You may think me crazy.....but honestly, she LOVES people fussing over her! And she loves looking at herself afterwards and telling everyone she had her hair done. It does my heart good when we can have a "normal" mother/daughter moment together.......... : )

3-D Cupcake!

Good morning all! I have a fun little project to share with you today! I decided to make a faux cupcake! I took a styrofoam ball and covered it in texture paste. While it was still wet I sprinkled it with lots of Martha Stewart chunky glitter. I added red and white pearls for sprinkles. The cupcake wrapper was cut using Cindy Loo. The butterfly was cut from Cindy Loo as well. And of course....as would be expected.....glitter was added!

I am in love with Cuttlebug Quilling kits......especially this daisy! I created a large one as well as a smaller one. To create the smaller version, just leave off the largest flower die. I tied some twine around the cupcake and added my flowers.

There's No Place Like Home

Honestly, there really is no place like home. I have been lucky enough to live in my home for the last 19 years. It isn't the biggest house, or the fanciest, but it is the place where we hang up our coats, seek comfort, and create lifelong memories. I am a very lucky girl........

My card today uses the new Wizard of Oz set by Craft Secrets. I colored the image with Copics. I masked the girl and did a bit of Copic Airbrushing to create a sunset behind her. I kept the background fairly simple to keep the focus on the image. The paper is by Papertrey Ink, as well as the ribbon. My card wouldn't be complete with out a border of glitter on two of the panels. ; )

New Release by JustRite!

Hi there! And happy Tuesday to you! I have a card to share with you today that uses a brand spankin' new set from JustRite. This set is called Vintage Ovals. It is right up my alley!
I stamped the Best Friends Forever image with Memento ink and then colored it with Copic Markers. (YG95, G40, BG10, RV00, RV91, RV11, B34, B41). I used my oval and scalloped oval Spellbinders to create layers for the image. The paper is the new Butterfly Collection by Pink Paislee. (swoon!) I did a bit of machine stitching and created a couple of quilled daisies by Provo Craft. I added some glitter, pearls, and seam binding to finish it off.

I am back to work today. No students though.....just meetings. Cort has her last basketball game of the season tonight........kind of sad. I will miss going to those games until the fall!

Mini paper sack....

Good morning! It is an icky rainy morning here in Chicago.....but I have the day off, so it will be a perfect day to craft! Remember last week, when I said I was addicted to altering these cute little paper sacks? Well, I am......I think I need a 5 step program. (Along with my glittering problem! LOL!) I love that this "canvas" is so small and I can finish a project within a half an hour. Plus, It is a great way to use up those small scraps you can't bare to part with! This one was made for my girl......for Valentine's Day. I wrote my love letter to her on the tag, and slipped it in the bag. I used bits and pieces from Jenni Bowlin. Sassafrass, and a left over pink flower cut from my Cricut.
The chipboard star was sprayed with silver Shimmerz spray, then glossy accents was applied, and clear Martha Stewart glitter was sprinkled on top. I love the contrast of the dark gray here!

I am loving the dimension these little bags have after I am done! Lumpy.....bumpy....just like I like 'em! ; )
