Caffinated Cropper Blog Hop!

Good morning! Today will be my last post as guest designer for Caffinated Cropper! Thanks Amy and the rest of the DT for having me! I have so enjoyed working with Amy's kits! Today's card uses the Birds of a Feather kit! So much fun stuff to dig into in this kit! I used my scraps in a horizontal pattern and machine stitched them. I created the flower with the white sheer ribbon included in the kit.....just add glue and roll it!
Now the ribbon was originally white, and it was a bit too white for my taste, so I wanted to "age" it.......so I place my "flower" in a little bowl and dumped my used coffee grounds right on top of it! When they are dry, shake 'em off and voila! Instant vintage flower! : ) I added a pearl button to the center that was colored with a pink Copic marker.
Be sure to check out the rest of the designer's beautiful creations!!

I have a busy weekend ahead of me.....my Grandma turns 90 TODAY! The entire family is coming in from out of state to celebrate her special day on Saturday! It will be so nice to see everyone together for a happy reason! : )
Take care and have a great weekend!

Cutting Cafe's Flower Pot Template!

Good morning and happy Thursday to you! I am doing the "non" rain dance today, hoping that the rain stays away for a bit. My 5th graders are going to a nature center today, where we hike and learn about ecosystems and such. It would make for an unpleasant and very muddy trip if it rains!

For today's card I used the Cutting Cafe's Flower Pot Template and October Afternoon paper. (Thrift Shop line) I did lots of distressing to the edges and added vintage buttons or pearls to the centers of the flowers.

The sentiment is also from the Cutting Cafe'. It was cut out using my oval Nestibility and distressed also. I added some scrunched seam binding that I colored myself and added a pretty stick pin.
I am off to put on my "hiking" gym shoes and grubby clothes! : ) Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Your comments truly brighten my day! (Yes, I am that pathetic! LOL!)

Life is a Journey.....

Every now and then, I like to create a page about me. I want my children to know me, understand me, not as only their mother, but as a person. I want them to know that even though life kicks you right square between the eyes sometimes......you need to get up, dust yourself off, and put a smile back on your face. It is hard. Very hard at times. I've had my share of heartache. But we have a choice in life......live sad.....or live happy. I choose the latter.

This page was created using Noel's Lemonade Stand kit. (only 2 left!) And just an FYI....her new kit, Sun-kissed is going up for sale on June 5th! Take a peek HERE if you want a glimpse of what's inside!
Thanks for stopping by! Crazy busy here in the Kovack household.........but it's all good!

Crafty Secret's New Product Blog Hop!

Good morning and happy Memorial Day to you! The DT gals have some fun projects to share with you using all new products by Crafty Secrets!! My card uses a new small set called, Material Girl. It is such a beautifully vintage set! I stamped it in Black Momento ink and cut it out using my oval Nestie. I left the Nestie on and Airbrushed it. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Antique Linen. The papers are by Papertrey Ink, Melissa Frances, and October Afternoon. I added a doilie, some satin ribbon, and a pretty satin bow.

I added a piece of vintage lace to create a "skirt" for the dress form as well as a small Prima flower.
Would you like to see the other DT's projects? They are fabulous!!!
Be sure to visit!!!

A Little Papertrey and Enabler Alert!

Good morning and happy Friday to you!!! I have a card to share with you today using the car from Papertrey Ink. I love the stamp/die combos from them! I created a round, scalloped card using my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. I cut various circles to add layers to the card. The white filigreed looking thing behind my yellow circle if from Martha Stewart. They are sold in a pack of 12 or something and I love 'em! I wanted it to look like rays of sunshine behind my car. I added Crystal Effects to the windshield and pearls to the headlights. The sunshine ribbon is ancient.....literally.....it is probably 10 years old and I've had it in my stash forever!

I also have a sneaky peeky at Noel Mignon's newest kit called Sun-Kissed! It is ready for purchase on June 5th! I feel like I should be sitting pool side with the Cabana boy and a Mai Tai! LOVE the bright summery colors of this kit!
Well, tomorrow is my 17th wedding anniversary......and Brian has a surprise "date" night in store for me. He is such a good planner that way! I can't wait to spend some alone time with him and see what he has up his sleeve! The rest of the weekend, we are going to BBQ and swim with the kiddos! Our pool is all ready for fun!!!
What are your plans this Memorial weekend? Anything exciting? Or just hanging out with the family? Whatever you do.....hope you have a GREAT weekend!!!!!

Some Mini Cards!

There is something about things that are little.....little babies, puppies, kittens, dollhouses, hamburgers....you get the idea! I had some scraps of paper and decided to use 'em up for mini cards! I used the Crafty Secret's Creative Scraps, which I LOVE because it makes cardmaking a snap! I paired these vibrant images with October Afternoon paper, ribbon, and of course......glitter.

This one, I used my "grass" scissors from Martha Stewart! (I don't think that is really their name, but that's what I am calling it!) It created this cool fringed border along the side of the card.
It is Thursday already and today my 5th graders are putting on their band concert for the school. They are ready for their summer break........as am I. It is hot and sticky in the classroom and trying to concentrate is getting more and more difficult. But the end is drawing nearer, a couple of more field trips, an awards ceremony, and summer will officially begin! : )
