A Sneak at JustRite's February Release!

I love the beginning of a new year........when all of my favorite companies come out with all of their new products! JustRite is releasing quite a few new sets in February and one of them is called Friendship Blooms. What I love is that they have teamed up with Spellbinders and have come out with a die that coordinates with this set! How cool is that?
My card has lots of white space and of course....GLITTER! I used papers from Papertrey Ink and Girls Paperie. The white panel was embossed using Papertrey Ink's Book Print Impression Plate. The sentiment was stamped in Ripe Avocado by Papertrey Ink. The circles and scallops were die cut using Spellbinder's dies. I wanted a bit of glitter at the bottom, so I used my Red Tacky Tape and glitter to add a bit of extra sparkle. (Who doesn't like extra sparkle?) ; )
I love adding depth by using the negative space......and foam squares!
Be sure to visit the other designer's fabulous projects!!!

Provo Craft's Brand New Product!!

Provo Craft is launching a brand spankin' new product on January 20th on HSN! It is the Yudu CardShop! It is fun and easy to use! Screen print your own cards, invitations, stationery, gift tags, and more in just minutes. The Yudu CardShop Machine comes with everything you need to finish your first project including a pre-burned screen, squeegee, adhesive mat, black ink, three-color ink pad and a quick-start guide. And let me tell ya, the screens are each cuter than the next!

I chose the Valentine Love screen since Valentine's Day is right around the corner! I used it with Versamark and a dauber and then sprinkled glittery embossing powder right over it! I dressed it up with some Jenni Bowlin journaling spots, pearls, a pretty bow, button, and stick pins.
I popped up the main image panel with foam squares to make room for my ribbon underneath! Plus it provides a bit of depth and dimension.
Be sure to check out the demo video on the Yudu CardShop Website and look for more fun projects with this machine on HSN on January 20th, 2011. I have another card coming soon created with this fun machine!! :)

Using my Imagine!!!

Good morning to you! It has been a whirlwind of a week! My son neglected to tell me that his 8th grade pictures were today, I had to find out on my own when I called the school last Friday. This meant getting a haircut and going shopping for a shirt and tie, pants, shoes....the whole shebang! He also took his high school entrance exam on Saturday. On top of that Cort has had practices for cheerleading for the big game on Saturday. So this has meant more running and chasing! It is really a good thing I only had two children! LOL!

My card today uses the Imagine machine. I absolutely am in love with this machine! I love the sweet images and the layers that you can create with it. For this card I used the "Yummy" cartridge. I love personalizing my images by adding special touches to them. For instance, I used liquid applique and glitter for the steam. I tied my sentiment using some of my dyed seam binding. I used a bit of vintage lace and a couple of my Spellbinders to "ground" the image. The girlfriend stamp is by Crafty Secrets.
OH! and I added a bit of glossy accents to the coffee too! : )
Thank you for all the sweet comments about Cort's cheerleading video. It truly warms my heart to be able to share these special moments with you!
Have a wonderful Wednesday! The speed bump to Friday! ; )

Friday Challenge at JustRite!

Good morning! I can't believe it is Friday already! I was just moaning and complaining that it was Monday! ; ) JustRite is resuming their Friday challenges. (YAY!) This week's challenge is sponsored by Scor Pal. So of course the challenge is to use their product on your card. I am probably not the most creative when it comes to using the Scor Pal......so I stuck with the tried and true lattice design. I used a piece of old Lasting Impressions paper. Scored it and then lightly sanded it. I used a brand new set by JustRite called Mother Nature's Gifts. The sentiment is also new and is part of the Happy Everything set.

The flower was stamped in Versamark and I used white embossing powder. I love the look of this for a change of pace! I broke out the old Prismas that had about 5 inches of dust on 'em and decided to try my hand at coloring. I kind of missed working with these! I colored the image twice and placed the second one on a foam square to give it dimension. The sentiment was stamped on vellum and I used clear embossing powder to seal it.

As a finishing touch, I added a bit of glitter to the edges and some pearls.
Be sure to pop on over to the JustRite blog to see the other designer's use of these fabulous new stamp sets and their innovative ways to use the Scor Pal. (And yes, I am not afraid to admit their use of the Scor Pal far outweighs mine! LOL!)
I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Tonight is date night with the hubby. Tomorrow Kyle takes his entrance exam to the local Catholic High School. (gulp!) Cort has a basketball game in the afternoon to cheer for. And Sunday we are headed downtown with friends to visit the American Girl Doll Store. Cort has to pick out a new outfit for "Gloria!" ; )
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Faux Tile Tutorial!

Good morning and happy Wednesday to you! I am so excited because today I have my first EVER tutorial debuting over at Splitcoast Stampers!! The tutorial shows you step by step how to get a faux tile look on your cards. I posted this card back in June using a Crafty Secret's image from the Seasonal Friends set.
I decided to create another card using this fun technique. First, I colored my image with Copics......these Copics.....

.......and another Crafty Secret's stamp,Floral Art. I added a bit of stitching, some pearls, and a pretty ribbon to finish it off.

If you want to make a poor gal extremely happy, please pay me a visit over at SCS, and check out my tutorial! I can't wait to see the cards you create using this fun technique! : )
Thanks so much for popping by! You gals really know how to brighten my day! : )

New Release by JustRite!

Good morning and happy Monday to you! I have so enjoyed being home these last two weeks! It was so nice not to have a set schedule, sleep in late, and spend lots of time with the hubby and kiddos. But reality is here.....and I am ready to get back to work, teach my students, and be with my fellow co-workers!

I have a card to share with you from one of JustRite's newest releases. It is called Beautiful Day. It is currently available on their Pre-order website. It is a gorgeous set perfect for Valentine's Day, birthdays, Easter, Mother's Day etc. It can be combined with JustRite's new Happy Everything Tag Kit! I stamped this pretty Snow Drop flower on kraft cardstock using Memento Ink. I colored the leaves and bow in with Copic Markers. The Snow Drop flowers were colored using a paper stump and Papertrey white ink. When the flowers were dry, I added a bit of glue and some clear glitter to them. I also added glossy accents to the bow. The border was stamped in white and embossed with a glittery embossing powder. I used Spellbinder's ovals and Spellbinder's Labels Four, and inked the edges in white. The background was embossed with Papertrey's Linen Impression Plate.

I added a satin ribbon I bought at Michaels.
I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!!! : )
