JustRite's Friday Challenge! Love is in the Air!

Hi again! I actually have TWO posts today! Can you believe it??? That is virtually unheard of for me! I have another card, but this time it is by JustRite. Today's Friday challenge was to create a card with a love theme. I knew I had to use last year's set called, Stitched With Love Borders and Centers. I stamped in in Versamark and used white embossing powder. I colored the heart with my Prismas and added glossy accents to the center. The papers I used are from K & Company. I created another frame using various Spellbinder's dies (Lacey Squares & Labels One), and popping them up with dimensional squares.
I added some touches of glitter and some scrunched seam binding to dress it up a bit!
Be sure to check out the JustRite blog to see what the other designers have created for today's challenge!
Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Crafty Secret's Brand New Release!

I have a card today to share with you using the not yet released Crafty Secret's set called, Art Blooms. It is a fun, whimsical floral set that was so much fun to color! I adore the font in this set too! I created a sort of shadow box for my image by using two different Spellbinder's dies and layering them. I used Scalloped Edge frame and Curved Rectangles. I attached the two pieces, ran it through my sewing machine, inked the edges a bit, and added dimensional foam squares underneath to give it depth. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black and cut it out with a Spellbinder's tag die. The butterfly is also a Spellbinder's die. I inked the edges, added a coat of glossy accents, and sprinkled Martha Stewart's chunky glitter over it. I added purple rhinestones to the body to bring out the purple ribbon a bit.

Be sure to check out the Crafty Secret's blog for all the latest news and releases!!! I will have more samples to share with you next week! : )

Happy Birthday Western Style!

Howdy pardners! I have a little card that would be perfect for those little men in your lives! It is a brand new set by Crafty Secrets called, Down on the Farm. I colored this cute image in with my Copic Markers. I used various Spellbinders dies to create the card and matte the image. All paper is by Papertrey Ink. And the boot? Wellllll, let me tell you......I created it using my Imagine Machine (by Provo Craft) and Shrinky Dink material. I used the Country Carnival cartridge and printed it at 3". I punched a hole in the back, and then used my heat gun to shrink it down to size! When it was shrunk down, I added a bit of twine to the back of the boot! I just think it is such a fun accent for this card!
I love being able to combine my favorite companies together!!!
And now, on a personal note......I have just a couple of photos to share! If you are sick of seeing my lil' family.......run! FAST! LOL!
This was my favorite picture from Cort's big game this past Saturday. She looks like an official cheerleader! I can't explain how incredibly touching it is to see the high school cheerleaders working and cheering with our girls. It is so heartwarming! I could have just sat and cried with joy on Saturday......I think I did.......(Just a little!)

I managed to get a pretty decent photo of the four of us. It doesn't happen often, as I am usually the one behind the camera. We all wore T-shirts to support our local Special Ed Rec Center.
And since my son has been thoroughly neglected these days in the photo department, I thought I'd share a quick photo I took of him on the day of his 8th grade graduation pictures. He was so proud of his tie. He picked it out all by himself. It is a Donald Trump tie......... ; ) He is looking so grown up........a young man.....no baby left in him.......*sigh* I guess that's what children do........
I appreciate your visits more than you know.......thank you for stopping by and letting me share a piece of my creativity and my family with you!

Another Sneak at JustRite's February Release!

Hi there! Happy Monday to you all! I have another brand new release to share with you today from JustRite! This set called, Kindness, is perfect for those special people in your life! I especially love the gorgeous font! This set also pairs with Spellbinders which is awesome! : )
For my card today I used some Basic Grey, Curio paper. This color scheme was a bit out of my comfort zone as I tend to use a lot of softer colors with pink, mint green etc. I stamped the frame in an olive green and used clear embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped in brown using Memento Ink. I wanted to dress up the card a bit so I did some machine stitching and added a pretty satin bow.
The butterfly was cut using a Spellbinder's die. The edges were inked in brown and I used Martha Stewart's clear chunky glitter over it. I added gold accents to the body as well as the frame. I added a couple of stick pins to finish it off.
Because a gal can never have enough glitter, I added a bit of glitter to the outside of the frame with my Sakura glue pen. I also added some to the sentiment.

A Sneak at JustRite's February Release!

I love the beginning of a new year........when all of my favorite companies come out with all of their new products! JustRite is releasing quite a few new sets in February and one of them is called Friendship Blooms. What I love is that they have teamed up with Spellbinders and have come out with a die that coordinates with this set! How cool is that?
My card has lots of white space and of course....GLITTER! I used papers from Papertrey Ink and Girls Paperie. The white panel was embossed using Papertrey Ink's Book Print Impression Plate. The sentiment was stamped in Ripe Avocado by Papertrey Ink. The circles and scallops were die cut using Spellbinder's dies. I wanted a bit of glitter at the bottom, so I used my Red Tacky Tape and glitter to add a bit of extra sparkle. (Who doesn't like extra sparkle?) ; )
I love adding depth by using the negative space......and foam squares!

Provo Craft's Brand New Product!!

Provo Craft is launching a brand spankin' new product on January 20th on HSN! It is the Yudu CardShop! It is fun and easy to use! Screen print your own cards, invitations, stationery, gift tags, and more in just minutes. The Yudu CardShop Machine comes with everything you need to finish your first project including a pre-burned screen, squeegee, adhesive mat, black ink, three-color ink pad and a quick-start guide. And let me tell ya, the screens are each cuter than the next!

I chose the Valentine Love screen since Valentine's Day is right around the corner! I used it with Versamark and a dauber and then sprinkled glittery embossing powder right over it! I dressed it up with some Jenni Bowlin journaling spots, pearls, a pretty bow, button, and stick pins.
I popped up the main image panel with foam squares to make room for my ribbon underneath! Plus it provides a bit of depth and dimension.
Be sure to check out the demo video on the Yudu CardShop Website and look for more fun projects with this machine on HSN on January 20th, 2011. I have another card coming soon created with this fun machine!! :)

Using my Imagine!!!

Good morning to you! It has been a whirlwind of a week! My son neglected to tell me that his 8th grade pictures were today, I had to find out on my own when I called the school last Friday. This meant getting a haircut and going shopping for a shirt and tie, pants, shoes....the whole shebang! He also took his high school entrance exam on Saturday. On top of that Cort has had practices for cheerleading for the big game on Saturday. So this has meant more running and chasing! It is really a good thing I only had two children! LOL!

My card today uses the Imagine machine. I absolutely am in love with this machine! I love the sweet images and the layers that you can create with it. For this card I used the "Yummy" cartridge. I love personalizing my images by adding special touches to them. For instance, I used liquid applique and glitter for the steam. I tied my sentiment using some of my dyed seam binding. I used a bit of vintage lace and a couple of my Spellbinders to "ground" the image. The girlfriend stamp is by Crafty Secrets.
OH! and I added a bit of glossy accents to the coffee too! : )
Thank you for all the sweet comments about Cort's cheerleading video. It truly warms my heart to be able to share these special moments with you!
Have a wonderful Wednesday! The speed bump to Friday! ; )
