So Sweet

Good morning to you and happy Friday!  I have a lil' baby card that was cut using my Cricut and the Campin' Critters Cartridge.  This cartridge has so many fun card shapes!  The lambs were cut using the Country Life Cartridge.  They were glittered and teeny tiny buttons were added too.  

I added a sentiment using an SRM sticker.  

My youngest is going on an overnight ski trip with his school.  He is so excited!  But for me, I always worry when they go so far away to ski.  I reminded him many times to ski defensively and always watch out for the other guy. He is a pretty sensible kid, so hopefully, he won't take any unnecessary risks!  

This weekend will kick off Kyle's month long birthday celebration!  He is turning the "BIG" 16!  Hard to believe my baby could possibly be that old!

Good morning to you! 

I have another Crafty Secrets card to show you today.  This image is from the Farm Chicks Stamp set. I've so enjoyed pulling out the Copics and just coloring.  It's been too long since I've done that! All of the papers used on this card were printed from Crafty Secret's Vintage/Retro CD. I love printing my own to any size I want!  I included lots of layers here, added a banner, and a large flower to finish it off. 

 I added a bit of sparkle to the sun with Tim Holtz's new distress glitter.  It is a finer glitter, with lots of sparkle, and apparently can be dyed any color you want to coordinate with your project.

I am still not feeling well, and getting impatient with the whole "being sick thing." Fortunately, I haven't run a fever and my stomach is okay.  It's all in my head and I have terrible sinus headaches.  

So I'm getting through the days at work, but by the end of the day, I am pooped!

Vintage.....

A few weeks ago, I went scrappin' with my girlfriends.  And I have to admit, I don't usually get much done.  I tend to be much more efficient when I scrapbook from home. But I love going anyway, for the conversation and laughs.  I did manage to color some images in the midst of my blabbing!  This was one of the images I colored.  It is the Love You Mother set by Crafty Secrets.  It was colored with Copics.  

I cut out the image using the Decorative Labels Eight dies from Spellbinders.  While the die was still on, I sponged it a bit with pink Memento ink.  It gives the card a bit of warmth. I popped each layer up to give it dimension. 

I tied my satin bow, added a glittery punched flower and pearls in coordinating colors. 

I gave the eggs a bit of sparkle with glossy accents and glitter.  

I have been fighting a cold all weekend long.  I'd like to say I woke up feeling like a million bucks....but instead feel like a dollar bill.  : (  I am going to try and muddle through the day, and hope the kids are cooperative.

Alien Invites

Good morning and happy Friday to you!  I have a fun birthday invite idea that was published in Northridge's Birthday Idea book.  Paper sacks are a hot trend right now, and makes the invite more interactive and fun! 

I simply sprayed the paper bags with a bit of October Afternoon Spray Mist in white.  I thought it gave it a more "spacey" kind of look! ; )

The tag was cut using Close to my Heart's Art Philosophy cartridge and then run through my printer.  

The alien was cut from Space Party. He was inked, layered, and black pearls were used for his eyes.

The moon was cut from the Solar System cartridge.  I layered it using dimensional foam circles.  The "You're Invited" was printed on my computer using the fill bucket function in red with white print.  I hand cut the flags and tucked them behind my alien.  

This is the first weekend in awhile that I don't have any "official" plans.  Although we may start Kyle's month long birthday celebration...... ; )  Hubby has been sick, so I am not sure we are doing much.  

You know how men are.......LOL!

A Little Birdie Told Me.....

Good morning!  It is Thursday.  One day closer to the weekend! My baby boy, my youngest is turning 16 next week.  And since we have so many families, it turns into a birthday month for the kid! ; )  So that's what we'll be doing. Celebrating and crafting.  Lots of crafting. : D

I created these little birdie cards using my Silhouette and papers from Paper Loft.  The first one is the "masculine" bird.  Notice the absence of glitter? ; ) Even his flower is manly! 

And of course that means the second bird is the girly bird!  She has glitter, and a bow in her hair!  I just love the size of these cards......perfect for a gift tag! 

We had cheer leading on Tuesday.  And I know I've literally hit you over the head with photos and videos of  Cortney, you have to watch this one.  IT will brighten your day and make you smile.......guaranteed! It's short......but it will remind you, 

"Dance like no one is watching......"

No Ribbons, No Glitter, No Flowers.....Oh My!

Masculine cards are really not my thing.  (No offense guys!) I am a very girly card maker......my heart does happy dances at the thought of adding glitter to anything and everything!  I love flowers.....I mean really love flowers. And ribbon?  Gotta have me some ribbon!  But on those boys' cards, there isn't a place for that. :(   But I battled through and created this card. You will notice there is no ribbon. No glitter. No flowers.

I used Crafty Secret's Golf Time Stamp set. 

There is however, Copic coloring and metal photo corners. ( I couldn't go completely embellishment free!)

And gems.  Not rhinestones mind you.  Let's just call them golfing gems.  They match the golfer's shorts.  ; )  

Cortney had her big game this past Saturday that benefits the Special Olympics.  It is an event that we look forward to every year.  It is so heart warming to see the athletes play, the cheerleaders cheer, and the families and friends that come out to support this cause.

Just Married and Other News....

Good morning to you my friends!  I have so much to share with you, but I will spread it out over the next couple of days, so as not to bore you! ;)  

But first, let's start with my card shall we?  

I created this wedding card using the Divine Wedding Cartridge by Creative Memories.  I dolled up my bride quite a bit with glitter, a lace doily for her skirt, a pearl for her hair, and little posies for her to hold.  Oh! And a bit of blush!  Every bride should blush on her wedding day! 

The large flower was cut using Flower Shoppe.  I added a few Prima flowers I had on hand to fill in around it.  I wanted it to resemble a wedding bouquet.  The stamp is from Papertrey Ink. 

As you know, Cortney had her big photo shoot on Saturday.  It was in Chicago on Michigan Ave.  From start to finish, it was like a dream.  The studio is only something I've seen in movies. A total "pinch me" kind of day.

Michael Canavan, the photographer, was so incredibly warm and down to earth.  He treated the kids with such kindness and respect.  Cortney's boyfriend, Jimmy, was selected too. : ) Michael decided he wanted to take a few pictures of the two of them.  They have such a cute relationship that I couldn't wait to see what he captured.  These blurry shots were just from my I-phone, but it makes me giggle when I see the two of them.  My daughter looks like she is being a bit bossy? ;)

There was a make-up artist there for touch ups, assistants to help us, and a talent agent named Markus was there too.  He runs a talent agency called, Real People.  He also took our kids' pictures to put in his data base.  He explained to us how it works and such. How cool would that be? My daughter possibly chosen for an ad or something?

I feel like this is just the beginning for these kids.  It is time they were really seen by the public.  They have so much to offer.  If everyone in the world were so kind to one another, what a peaceful world we would live in. 

So continue to cross your fingers and toes......

and a prayer or two.....

That these children will be made visible to the public.

Make a difference.

Change attitudes abut disabilities.

And be "seen" in a whole new light.
