Hello

Good morning my friends!
These past few days have been an emotional roller coaster to say the least.
But one thing I realized is that I am truly blessed.
I am blessed to have so many people care.
I am grateful for the numerous messages, PMs, and e-mails.
It truly helps knowing that Cort and I are not alone.
I thank my lucky stars for this craft industry. It has saved my hide on more than one occasion.

Not just the craft itself, but the people I have met a long the way.....
So today I have a fun, happy card using a cute Jane's Doodle's stamp called Garden Friends. It is available at SRM Stickers.  It was colored twice with Copics. The wing was cut out and popped up with dimensional foam tape.  It was given a dose of glossy accents and sprinkled with glitter.  I added a gold doily and strips of patterned paper.

For the next few days we are striving for a bit of normalcy.  So today we are going to see the movie, Inside Out with friends. Cort will go to summer school Monday-Thursday of next week. And then of course Friday is her first round of surgery.
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
We appreciate it very, very much.
Have a great weekend!

Colorful Rooster

I have a card to share with you using an awesome digital image from Crafty Secrets!
It is part of the Farm Chicks digital set.  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I love the vibrancy of their colors!  I also gave it a bit of sparkle using my Wink of Stella pen. I used Stickles on the outside perimeter of the rectangle.
I added digital papers behind the image and a flower I cut using my Silhouette.  The flower was given color using my Spectrum Noir Aqua markers.

***Update***
Cortney is scheduled for a skin flap next Friday, June 26th.
I have been beside myself and having a hard time taking all of it in. She will be in the hospital for at least a week. The healing time will still be several months, but let's hope this helps her to heal.
I appreciate everyone's kind words, texts, e-mails etc.
It really helps to know I am not alone.
Thank you for helping me get through a tough time....

Birthday Boy!

Good morning!
Yesterday was my husband's birthday and we decided to spend it as a family.
We went to lunch and then headed on over to the movies to see Jurassic World in 3-D.
With Kyle working and such, we don't seem to do much "family" time these days.
My husband expects a homemade card and really gives me the business if I don't make one for him. You'd think he would cut me a bit of slack with all that's been going on with Cortney and such.
No such luck.
So here is the card I had to sneakily create.
It took 3 tries to get a card that I kind of liked.
And remind me next time to take a picture before I write in it!
And here is the young'un.
***Update***
Cortney is headed to wound care again today. Tomorrow we have an appointment with the plastic surgeon.  They may perform a deep debridement and possible skin graft.
We will know more tomorrow.
I appreciate your kind words, your e-mails, and well wishes.
She needs your continued prayers.
She is not herself and so far her summer is pretty lousy.
Hugs to all of you!

Updated Kitchen!

Good morning!
I am so happy that school is over and my summer vacation is starting!
I will be able to concentrate on my kiddos a bit, and accomplish some things that have been long neglected.
Like my house.
And laundry.
Lots and lots of laundry!
We were looking for an economical way to update our kitchen and decided paint was the way to go.
Our cabinets were in pretty good shape but the color wasn't really what I wanted anymore.
So after many layers of white paint and some tarnished nickel handles......
This was the result. A much brighter, airier kitchen!
We are headed to the doc again for Cortney's 3rd wound care appt.   I can not tell you how frustrating this whole thing has been. This poor girl has been through so much....
Please continue to pray for healing.
Thank you all so very much!

Water Colored Roses

Good morning! I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog with this little number.
A water colored card using this gorgeous rose from Crafty Secrets.  I used my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to create an ombre paneled background.  I also used them to color my roses.
A bit of Stickles was added to the bottoms of the roses for a bit of sparkle.  I also added sequins, ribbon, and an SRM sticker sentiment. All of this was adhered using Scrapbook Adhesive's Dodz™. The flowers were attached using Crafty Foam Tape.
And just a quick update.....Cortney is still battling this infection.  She has gone to the wound care clinic twice and doesn't seem to be getting much better.  She will be going again this Friday.
Please continue to pray for my gal. She hasn't been herself and I miss my happy girl.

Bathroom Remodel!

Okay bathroom "remodel" might be a bit of a stretch! Our remodeling consisted of paint, new handles for the cabinets, a new ceiling light, and a change in decor. So the total cost of renovating our bathroom was under $500 bucks! You see, in the 90's hunter green and wallpaper were VERY popular.  We decided to finally catch up to the new millennium!  Can you see the lovely, yet very busy wallpaper?  And the extremely fashionable ceiling light?  Pretty right? ;)

The walls were painted a light grey, wallpaper torn down, new window coverings, cabinets painted white with new tarnished nickel handles, new drum light, and a cool piece of artwork from Minted.com. It is literally like walking into a breath of fresh air! It is so light and airy! I will have kitchen pictures to share tomorrow. We painted our cabinets in there as well and it is like a brand new kitchen! It is amazing what a bit of paint can do!

So What do you think?

Live Life to the Fullest.....

This weekend was Kyle's graduation party. I created a video for him to remind him to love life...and to live it to the fullest. This song from One Republic resonated strongly with me and I hope he listens to the lyrics and knows how much he is loved.

And of course I had to include a couple of photos from Saturday....one of him with his graduation bundt cake!

And the other with his most favorite gift!   (NOT!) But every college kid needs laundry detergent!  (He is NOT bring his dirty laundry home to me! ;)

Have a great day!!! Thank you so much for stopping by!
