You Make Me Smile!

Good morning! Yesterday, I was up on the SRM Blog with this little number.
I am on the 2015-2016 design team for SRM, and couldn't be more thrilled!
I used a new set by Jane's Doodles called, Fancy Doodles.

For all of the info and details of how I created the card, pop on over to the SRM Blog!

Farm Fresh

Good morning!  I finally got myself motivated to take pictures of my cards.!
My card today uses a digital image from Crafty Secrets. It is part of the Farm Chicks collection.
I used my Spectrum Noir markers to bring the roosters to life.

Once I was satisfied with the colors of the roosters, I took Cotton Candy Stickles and painted it on.  It gives the color a bit more pop and of course a bit of sparkle too!
I matted the image using a Spellbinder's die.

Behind the die cut rectangle is rooster paper that you can find HERE.
A bit of ribbon, a fancy glass doo dad, and a few rhinestones were added as finishing touches!

I am excited to tell you that Cort's wound is healing and she gets to go back to school today!
She is so happy to see her friends and teachers!
This has been a long journey for her, and it does my heart good to see her happy and smiling again.
Have a great day my friends!!!

Frothy Coffee....

Every now and then I get myself one of those fancy after dinner drinks.  You know what I am talking about right? The coffee with a little Kahlua or Baily's or something?
So this shaped card was inspired by my apparent love for alcohol!
I created this awhile back when I was on the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen team.  I used my Cricut, but can not remember for the life of me which cartridge I used.  I have since converted to a Silhouette gal!
I used lots and lots of liquid applique for the froth.
While it was still warm I sprinkled it with glitter.

I added a bit of ribbon, a paper flower, and a sentiment from My Craft Spot.   (Shop website seems to be down)

I gotta confess that lately I am a lazy, lazy blogger!  If someone could just come here and take the pictures of my cards and write my blog posts, that would be great!
;)
I have no shortage of cards, I create them and pile them up in my craft room.
What the heck is wrong with me?

Sometimes Less is More

Good morning!  I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog today!
I created this card using some of my favorite products.
I used a Spellbinder's Layered Flowers die and cut it out of water color paper.  I used my Spectrum Noir Aqua markers to give it color. I inked the back panel in a soft pink and adhered the flower and leaves using Crafty Foam Tape.

I added a sentiment from SRM Stickers. I added sequins and attached them with small DODZ™
The card was also inked a bit in a soft yellow.

Make a Wish

Good morning!  It has been so nice to be home the last couple of days.  It's amazing what you take for granted when something is taken away for awhile.
I actually had a bit of time in my craft room last night and I was in heaven.
My card today was actually created right before Cortney went into the hospital.
It is another shaker card.
Sorry if you are tired of seeing these darn things! ;)
I adhered it right on top of the acetate.
I used my trusty Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L white foam tape to create the shaker portion of the card.
The flowers and leaves were cut using my Silhouette.
And of course the sentiment is SRM. :)

It is rainy and cool today, so I think I may have to find some time to sneak off to my craft room again today.
Thank you for stopping by my friends!

Crafty Secret's July Design Team Challenge and Linky Party!

Good morning! It is the first Monday of July and that means it is time for the Crafty Secret's Design Team Challenge and linky party!
We are full swing into summer, so I wanted to make a little summer wall hanging I could display in my kitchen. I used this darling image from the Crafty Secret's Seasonal image booklet
Scroll on down for a step by step tutorial on how this little number was made! ;)

I don't know about you, but I have a ton of these chip board coasters! So I decided to them to use here by modge podging some Crafty Secret's designer paper to it.
I happened to have two of the Seasonal booklets, so I took the image I wanted from both.
Once your coaster is dry, sand the edges a bit to distress them.
Fussy cut one of the images.
Add glossy accents to the image.
Let the image dry completely.  Once it is dry, add a bit more of the glossy accents to her hair bow.  Sprinkle with glitter and add a rhinestone to the center.
And because I can't leave well enough alone, add more glossy accents to the bottom of the uncut image.  Sprinkle it with sand.
Add gold glitter glue to the edges.
I printed seashells from the Digital Mermaids set.  I inked the edges a bit, added glossy accents, and sprinkled them with glitter.
Add a ribbon handle, and a strip of brown designer paper.
Put it all together to create your dimensional summer wall hanging!

***Update***
Cortney came home from the hospital yesterday.  Her graft appears to have taken, but there is a small area in the center that is very yellow.  The doctor is a bit concerned about it and it needs to be watched carefully. Today we head back to wound care to have the wound VAC put back on for the next week.   Please continue to pray that it takes.  I can't even allow myself to think that it won't.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.

Prayers Please.....

I apologize for the sparseness in my posts lately.  As many of you already know, Cortney battled a staph infection at the beginning of May.  She had been admitted to the hospital for 3 days and placed on heavy duty IV antibiotics.  When she came home, she had what appeared to be a hole in her leg from the infection.  We were sent to an infectious disease doc who then sent us to wound care.  Cort had 5 visits there and the decision was made to send her to a plastic surgeon.  I guess I live under a rock, because I had no idea that this was who might help her to heal.  He recommended a skin flap and told me she would be in the hospital for at least a week.  I shed many, many tears because all I kept thinking was, "How did this happen? How did my perfect, happy girl end up with this? " But I went ahead and scheduled the surgery as this seemed to be our only option.

So this past Friday she had surgery number one.  The doc surgically debrides the wound and gets rid of all of the dead tissue.  Unfortunately, the infection had gone down to the bone, so it is deeper than we thought.  Thankfully, it did not affect the bone.......a blessing. Because of her Cerebral Palsy, the doc said they couldn't do a skin flap.  Her skin is too tight.  Instead he would perform a skin graft.  This is concerning because when we originally met in his office he had stated that he preferred a skin flap because they don't just bring skin over, they also bring over the vital tissues as well. That is what aids in healing.  A skin graft is just skin. Which means there is a chance it won't take. That will be performed this upcoming Wednesday. In the mean time they hooked her up to a VAC machine. And from what I am hearing this machine is pretty amazing.  It helps the skin tissue to revitalize and make new tissue.  So I am praying that everything I hear is accurate and it allows her skin to heal.

It has been extremely stressful these past couple of months.  And everything is complicated by the fact that she is in a wheelchair.  All that keeps running through my mind is, what if I put her through all of this, and it doesn't work? Don't go there, my family tells me.  But I've already gone there.

She is extremely uncomfortable, and my heart breaks for her.  My sweet happy girl is miserable and it just kills me.

I will be at the hospital the rest of the week.  I won't leave her at night.  My husband gave me a reprieve last night, which was a nice break. But he has to work so I will be on "duty" til the end of the week.

Please pray that she heals from this.
Thank you for your e-mails, texts, PM's etc.  My heart is grateful for all of you.
