Celebrate Life Shaker Card!

Good morning! It seems to be feast or famine with me these days! What is this? My third/fourth post in a row? ;)
I am up on the SRM Blog today with a fun shaker card. I cut three hearts out and set those aside for a future project.  I inked the heart panel in shades of pink, orange, and yellow.  I glued a piece of acetate behind hearts and let it dry.
Created by Michele Kovack
The piece under the hearts was water colored in coordinating colors.  I placed Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty foam tape around each heart andI snuck sequins in there before adhering.  I glued tiny cupcakes topped with rhinestones for the centers of each heart.

I added a sentiment from SRM Stickers from the Life is Good collection.  I also added silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply Store and a rhinestone as a finishing touch.

Justrite Multi-Step Don't Forget Bouquet

Hey there!
I have another card to share with you today using a new set from JustRite.  This one is called, Don't Forget Bouquet.   I stamped the image using Versamark and then embossed it in white on water color paper.  I used my Zig Clean Brush markers.
I am loving JustRite's new line of dimensional paints.  I added some dots to the hearts for extra depth.  The sentiment was handwritten with silver puffy paint and sprinkled with silver glitter.  I was afraid of messing up my card, so I wrote it on a piece of acetate and when it was dry, peeled it off and then glued it to my card.
For a finishing touch I tied silver string into a bow.  I love leaving the "tails" long and flowy.  ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I truly appreciate your visits!

January Release From JustRite-Sweet Flowers and Vines

Good morning my crafty friends!  It is the start of JustRite's January release! I am excited to share lots of projects with you!
My first card is a coffee cup card.  I found this image over at the Silhouette store.
Michele Kovack
I created a shaker element using a heart die.  I glued acetate on the back.  I cut an extra coffee cup piece, used dimensional foam tape to adhere it to the back, after adding beads and sequins.  If you look closely there are 3 layers of coffee.  Rather than boring old coffee, I wanted a cappuccino. ;) I hand cut a piece of paper in the shape of the "froth", added liquid applique, and right after heating it with my heat gun, sprinkled glitter on top of it.  I took advantage of the 2 layers to create the shaker, and simply slid the "frothy" piece between them and glued it in place.

I water colored a flower and used a gorgeous new vine die from JustRite.  The sentiment is part of the brand new set called, Sweet Flowers and Vines.
And as a last finishing touch I added dots around the perimeter of the heart and select areas of the cup using JustRite's new line of puffy paints!

I wouldn't be a good crafter if I didn't do a little enabling! ;) But you better move quick on this one, the sale ends today at 3PM!
Be sure to stop by the JustRite blog to find more inspiration from the design team!
Have a great day!

Valentine Treat Bags and Tutorial!

Good morning and happy weekend to you!
I have  some Valentine treat bags to share with you. I used my Cricut to cut the cupcake shape.  I also used heart doilies, kraft bags, seam binding, and some fun little details to make these extra special.

If you are interested in seeing my creative process, here it is! ;)
To doll up my cupcakes a bit I cut out the center of a doily

My idea was to have a part of the doily peeking out from under the frosting.

Cut off any excess.

I love texture paste to create frosting!  Here are my two pieces for the cupcake tops.
I applied the paste with a paint brush, but I've been known to give it a "schmear" with my fingers too!

For the bottom layer of frosting, I sprinkled a clear coarse glitter (not shown) and for the top piece I sprinkled with this pretty blue.  (Martha Stewart glitters)
Adhere the two pieces together.

For my cherries on top, I added glossy accents.  Once they were dry I added them to the top of my cupcake.
I just added some pretty seam binding and heart shaped doily to a kraft bag filled with sweet treats.

I hope you liked the treat bags!
I am looking forward to a 3 day weekend.  Cortney has her once a year "big" basketball/cheerleading game.  It is always an event we look forward to, especially this year, since this will be her last game.
The rest of the weekend will be dedicated to shoveling the piles of laundry and dust bunnies that have invaded my house!

We took the kiddos to a hotel for the weekend.  Kyle was heading back to college after being off for 3 weeks, so being the good sport he is, he decided to go with us.  Of course I wasn't allowed to take pictures of him, but I promise you, he was there! LOL! We ate, we bowled, we played board games in the hotel room, and of course, we swam!
Here is my very happy fish swimming her lil' heart out!
So glad she had a few hours to do what she loves.
To feel physical freedom.
And to see her smile from ear to ear.
Have a great day!

I Know It's Not Christmas Anymore but......

I am a total slacker!  I had created this for the SRM Sticker blog and completely forgot to post it here!  It's never too late for Christmas right?
I found this adorable Christmas Tree shaped card at the Silhouette store.
I pieced it together and added texture paste and glitter for the snow.
Created by Michele Kovack
I added rhinestones, a little felt flower with white pom poms in the center, silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store, and a sentiment from SRM Stickers.

I feel like lately my head isn't in the game with crafting.
I am still waiting for Cort's official move in date and that has been weighing on me.
In the meantime we are taking Cort for a weekend getaway with a pool, bowling, food, and a movie.
This poor girl wasn't able to swim all summer due to her infection, so we are going to plop her in the pool this weekend and let her swim to her heart's content!
Thanks so much for popping by!
