Rain or Shine...

Created by Michele Kovack
I am up on the SRM Blog with a card using this cute new set from Jane's Doodles called, Rain or Shine.  I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it in white.  I added color using my Zig Clean Brush Markers.

I took my white gel pen and added polka dots to the boots.  I found this very old, but still very cute rainbow paper to slip behind the image.  I tied silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store with a couple of posies to finish it off.

I am home today with my girl.  We are headed out for a day of lunch and shopping with her Nana.  We need to pick up a few things for her move to Misericordia.
It is hard to believe that in a week and a half, she will be moving.
Today's shopping trip will be bitter sweet for sure.
Have a wonderful day!!

Justrite Lilies and Butterflies!

Happy Sunday to you!
I have one last card to share from JustRite's January release.
I know it is February....but lately I tend to be a day late and a dollar short!
Better late than never right?
This set is called, Lilies and Butterflies.
Created by Michele Kovack
I stamped it in shades of hot pink and purple.  I gave it a bit more depth with my Copic markers.  There seemed to be too much white space, so I splattered it with black water colors.  I also sponged the edges with pink and added a few sequins.

The ribbon is from the Stamp Simply store.  The flower is probably an antique....it's THAT old! ;)
But I thought it worked perfectly here.

Are ready for the Superbowl tonight?
I am not really a football gal, but plan on watching it for the commercials and half time show. LOL!
And maybe do a bit of crafting in between.
Have a wonderful restful day!

Blender Shaped Card!

Good morning my crafty friends! I am up on the SRM blog today with a fun little blender card! I found this super cute cut at Silhouette. I gussied it up a bit with layers of pretty patterned paper and of course loads of glitter! I also added silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store.  For all of the details of this card, please head on over to the SRM Blog. :)

Today it is my "baby's" 19th birthday. Like most moms I am incredibly proud of this young man. I don't speak much of the obstacles he's had to overcome, but believe me, there have been many.   He is doing great in college, he is focused, and has a good head on his shoulders.  He has a big, mushy, kind heart.  He is often wise beyond his years and has this keen ability to look down the road and plan his future. I love him beyond words and want to wish him the happiest of birthdays!
Thank you for always taking the time to stop by for a visit.
It makes my little corner of the cyberworld a little sweeter!

Justrite Meadow Circles New Release!

Good morning friends! I have another Justrite card to share today! This set is called Meadow Circles.  It is a beautiful set! I wanted to create a card that had an Asian feel to it.  I stamped each image in shades green and blue and cut them into circles.  I gave each circle a layer of glossy accents.

I staggered the circle over a piece of glittery gold paper.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it in gold.  I added a flower, gold leaves, and some gold cording.

For a finishing touch I added a few coordinating sequins.

I have lots of laundry and lesson plans to catch up on today.  I think it might be a pajama wearing Sunday!
Have a wonderful day!

Happy Anniversary-JustRite!

Good morning and happy weekend to you!  I still have a couple cards to show you from JustRite's January release.  For today's cards I used several new products from JustRite.  I used their new Heart and Frame dies.  I love the lacy and delicate look of this frame.  I stamped the sentiment and little flowers from the Sweet Flowers and Vines set.  I added a layer of glossy accents on top of it for a bit of dimension.
Created by Michele Kovack
I decided to add  a touch of silver with JustRite's newest addition, Tonic Glitter!
They also carry puffy paints and I am having such a good time incorporating them into my cards! I used some silver paint in the corners to continue my accents of silver.

It is hard to believe we are at the end of January already....time sure has a way of flying a bit too fast these days! My son is turning 19 and he is coming home today.  It will be so sweet to have both my kiddos with me.
Have a wonderful day and be sure to check back tomorrow! I have one last JustRite card to share!

Love Birds!

Good morning! I am up on the SRM Blog today with a new set from Jane's Doodles called, Love Birds!  I think it is the sweetest set! I wanted a bit of moonlight behind my birds. (Because it's romantic to profess one's love in the moonlight right?) I punched a circle from a piece of scrap paper.  I used both the negative and positive pieces here.  I placed the circle in the middle of my paper and sponged shades of blue around it.  Then I took the negative piece, placed it over the paper, and sponged my yellow.  I went back with a dauber and sponged a bit of white around the moon.  I wanted a bit of sparkle, so I took a paint brush and a bit of glossy accents, and "painted" around the moon. I sprinkled a bit of glitter.

The birds were stamped on a separate piece of paper, as well as the hearts, sentiment, and tree branch.  All of it was colored with Copic markers.  Everything was fussy cut and glued in place over my moon.  I added glossy accents to the hearts, wings, and leaves and then sprinkled glitter.  I added Flower Soft to my tree branch. I added a doily behind the image for added sweetness.  ;)

For my birds' bellies, I used a white gel pen.  I love how textural this card looks and feels.  It was one of those cards that I truly loved as soon as it was completed.  And believe me, lately this hasn't been happening too often! LOL!

The next few weeks are going to be an emotional ride as Cortney just got her "move-in" date yesterday. My feelings are a bit all over.  It will be a difficult transition for me as I've been her caregiver for so long.  She has been my shadow, my side-kick, my little partner in crime. My days are filled with her, and soon, my days will be quieter, emptier.  I will need to fill them up with something else. That will take time and some getting used to.
I appreciate all of your support and words of kindness. It helps immensely. :)
