Using Adhesive Squares as an Interesting Design Element!

Good morning! I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog today with a Valentine Card! I love trying to use products in different ways than intended.  Like these small 3D adhesive squares.  Normally they are hidden and out of sight.....but I decided to make them an interesting backdrop to my smaller pink glittered hearts! The lacy heart was cut using a Spellbinder's die and then I peeled the 3D foam squares and placed them along the perimeter.  I kept going until the entire heart was filled in.  I carefully peeled the tops of them and sprinkled with a pale pink glitter.  Although for some reason the glitter looks white in this photo.

I used two 3D foam hearts for the center and sprinkled those with glitter as well, hot pink and red.  I backed the hearts with a pretty lacy square and placed it over two strips of gemstone strips I found at Hobby Lobby.   (The Paper Studio makes them)

I added a few pearls to the corners, a posy and felt leaves to the smallest heart and a sticker sentiment from SRM. What do you think about those little squares?  Don't they remind you of mini marshmallows?   Marshmallows and Valentine's Day? Sure! Why not! LOL!

So glad you stopped by!  Have a great Tuesday!

Wooden Coaster Gift Tag!

Good morning friends!
Did the weekend fly by or was it just me?  I feel like I blinked and it was gone!
Anyway....I am up on the SRM blog today with a fun Valentine tag.
I bought a bunch of Birch Wooden Discs from Etsy.  I think they are so cute and can't wait to find different uses for them!
I used a stencil, texture paste and yellow glitter for the background.  I glued pom pom trim to the perimeter.  I layered an SRM sticker on top of a piece of orange felt.  I glued a few sequins here and there for a finishing touch.
I glued a string to the back so that I could hang it off of a gift.  Since this ornament, I had my husband drill a hole at the top of each one to make it easier to hang.

Hope my (and your) Monday goes as quickly as the weekend! ;)

Planner Stamps....

Good morning!  I have a card today that was up on the SRM blog yesterday.  It uses a set of planner stamps called, Birthday Plans.  I wanted to create a fun background with these itty bitties.  I stamped each image with black water proof ink.  (I use Simon Says ink)  I colored each image with my Zig Clean Color Markers.  I added a bit of sparkle with Stickles and dimension with glossy accents.

I splattered the background with a bit of black water color and gave a grey shadow around each image.  I stamped the sentiment in a dark pink color and adhered using crafty foam tape.  I tied black and white twine under the sentiment. I added a small pink felt circle and sequin to the center of the bow. The main panel was also adhered to the pink panel using crafty foam tape.

Here is the cute planner set in its entirety!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Personal Post.....

Good morning!
I know this is a crafting blog, and please don't throw tomatoes at the screen......but I have to share.....

In the last couple of years I've made some changes to my life. Three years ago I decided it was best that Cortney and I eat "cleaner." Then I started doing yoga as a way to save my back and body from the continuous lifting I was doing with Cort. And this past July, I tried Rodan + Fields. I was skeptical like most. When you've tried a zillion products with literally no change to the skin you can't help feeling that nothing will work. Until now. Saturday, after cheer leading a friend of a friend commented on how great my skin looked.....and proceeded to ask what I was using. I've never EVER been told I had great skin. Ever. Then two months ago I started using Lash Boost. My eyelashes were always scarce. Being blond doesn't give you nice long lashes. But now, that has changed too! I Feel happy in my own skin and glad that I've made the changes I have. I LOVE Rodan + Fields and my customers do too! It's a game changer for sure! Email me today to love your skin and lashes too! ;)

Snowman....

***Edited***
I apologize for not sharing the link to Suzy's cute image.  It is corrected now!  (I was in a hurry when I posted! LOL)

Good morning! I am headed out the door to pick up my girl! Her old cheer leading team invited her to their "big" game to be an honorary cheer leader!  Cort is super excited to be with her friends today doing something she loves!  I will share pics later this week!

Onto my card.....another Suzy Plantamura image.  Seriously addicted to her images.
I colored this snowman with my Copics and added a few fun details with a white gel pen and liquid applique.
I mounted the image on red card stock and tied a vertical black ribbon to finish the card off.
I think I may add a birthday sentiment or something at a later date!

What are you up to this weekend? Any big plans? Whatever you do have a great one!

Card Focused on the Coloring!

Good morning friends! I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesive's blog today with a card I created using this cute Avery Elle stamp set called Furry Friends. I have been in the mood lately to just sit and color and not agonize over the rest of the card.  I did a bit of masking her to get those kitties on the bed just perfectly.  I added a few details to the cats to get their stripes and such.  (Which is good for me as I don't have a cat and never have! LOL!)

I used Dodz-mini to secure the sequins ( a lot easier than messy glue!) and Crafty Foam tape under the main panel for a bit of dimension.

Coffee Bar!

Good morning!
Since we've redone our kitchen a few months ago......new counters, backsplash, painted cabinets with new handles, our floors redone.....I've wanted a coffee bar!
I've been finding little odds and ends for the past 4 months and was happy to put it all together.
I picked up the coffee tray in Indiana when we went apple picking.  The sugar and creamer were my mom's.  I think she told me it was carnival glass?
The little cake stand was from the Home Goods store.  ( I LOVE that place!)
The yoga sign was from a friend of mine....it says:
I do yoga.
I burn candles.
I drink tea.
And I still want to smack
Somebody.
LOL!
The red ceramic baskets were also from the Home Goods Store and are perfect for holding my teas and coffees.  The metal sign was picked up last week in Nashville in a quaint little shop in the MotorWorks building.
I added a few pops of green with a couple of (fake) plants from Marshalls.
The red canisters are from Crate and Barrel.  My lit cabinets right now have yellow fabric backing them.  I am thinking about swapping it out for a bold black and white fabric instead. What do you think?  I think it might be more dramatic than the yellow.
I will be back tomorrow with a crafty post!
Have a great day!
