Happy Fall....

There are certain crafters out there that tend to enable others to buy new products.  I don't want to mention any names....ahem... (Lydia Fiedler)....but she just happened to mention a great sale for these awesome Artbars  over at Amazon, and I knew I just HAD to purchase them.  I mean, I couldn't let a fellow crafter down, could I?
Of course I don't have a clue as to what I am doing!  I guess a bit of playing, trial and error, or whatever you want to call it is in order.
So for today's card I simply stamped my pumpkins from the JustRite set called,Fall Applique, with Versamark.  I embossed it in black.  I watercolored the pumpkins with various shades of red, orange, and yellow.  I wanted a more artsy look, but think I failed in that department.
But I do like the vibrancy of the colors.
So that's a win.
I added a flower I cut using my Spellbinder's Rose die
I watercolored that too.
I also added a sentiment from my label maker.
I will continue to play with these new toys of mine. I will let you know what I discover and pass my knowledge on to you.  Because crafters are sharing people. ;)

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Quirky Joy!

Guess who is up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today? With a full tutorial on how to create this nontraditional, somewhat quirky holiday card? Yep, this gal! ;)
I often start projects with no idea which direction I am going in. My mind is a strange, often cluttered, and fairly messy place.  The final product is most often completely different than what I had originally imagined.   :)
Hence, the creation of this card.
Would you like to see how it was made?
(And I am hoping you do.... ;)
Then be sure to head over to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog!
Have a wonderful day!

JustRite's November Release-Graceful Sentiments

Happy Friday! Today is JustRite's last day of their November release.  The set is called, Graceful Sentiments.  I incorporated the sentiment with a  three dimensional purse that is perfect for a gift card or jewelry.  The purse and the large bow can be found at the Silhouette store.  I gussied up the bow with loads of glitter and some satin posies for the center.

The sentiment was stamped in orange and given a dose of glitter around the perimeter.  I added a few sequins for a bit of color.

I love sentiment sets because they are so versatile. And honestly, can you ever have too many?

I know I sound like a broken record, but please do visit the other designers' blogs. They always have such pretty projects!

I just wanted to share a snippet of my Halloween.  I thought my fellow staff members did a great job with their costumes!  I feel blessed to work in a place with such great people!  And in case you are looking for me....I am Colonel Sanders from KFC.  ;)

Have a great weekend! I appreciate you stopping by!! :)

JustRite's November Release-Caring Thoughts

I have another new release to share with you today from JustRite!  It is a pretty sympathy set called, Caring Thoughts. Sympathy cards are often very difficult to make.  I like to make them ahead of time, so I have it when I need it.  I have been on a gold and silver kick lately, so I decided on that color scheme.  I embossed the flowers in gold embossing powder by WOW.
The background was created using a stencil, embossing paste, and silver embossing powder. I slipped a piece of gold glitter cardstock underneath so it would peek out a bit.  I added my sentiment, stamped and embossed on vellum, added ribbon, and a scattering of sequins.
Here is the whole set....

Be sure to stop by the other designer's blogs for more ways to use this set!

Have a great day!
Thank you for stopping!
And in case you were wondering....I DID survive the social security office! ;)
I also have some Halloween pics to share soon!

JustRite's November Release-Sentimental Flowers!

Good morning!  JustRite is starting their November release today, and today's first set is a beautiful one!  The set is called Sentimental Flowers.  I love sets that I can color.  I stamped the image with Versamark and emboossed it in gold.  I used my Inktense pencils to color it in.
I used one of the smaller flowers to place in the center of my ribbon.  I added a few sequins and pearls for interest. I also used Spellbinder's Resplendent Rectangles  to matte my image.
Here is the set in its entirety. So pretty, right?
The design team always does such a great job of showcasing each set, so be sure to pay them a visit.

I am off to the social security office this morning with phone, book, and snacks in tow. It's going to be a looooooong morning.  :(

Crafty Secret's Design Team Challenge and Linky Party!

Good morning to you! Happy November! The beginning of the month means our Crafty Secret's Design Team challenge and linky party!  Our challenge is to create something holiday/winter themed.  With the weather we've had in Chicago lately, it already feels like December! ;)
I used this pretty little gal from the Season's Greetings stamp set.  I colored it with Copic markers.  I added a piece of vellum behind her that was done with a stencil and embossing paste. I embossed it in silver.
I added some glittery jingle bells and a sparkly snowflake. I have all the details below on how I layered my card below.
The paper is also from Crafty Secrets and is part of their     digital paper packs.
I bought a sheet of glittery paper from Die Cuts With a View.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  It is incredibly sparkly in person. :)
I layered the image on top of the silver piece with tacky glue.
Then I layered it on top of the vellum, also with a bit of tacky glue.
I cut the snowflakes with my die cut machine.
I added a thick coating of glossy accents.
Gave it a sprinkling of glitter.
Adhered it to the card. The smaller snowflake was adhered with a dimensional foam circle.
And one last time, here is the final product.
Be sure to check out the other designers' blogs for more Crafty Secret's inspiration!

Have a great day my friends!

Boo!

Good morning!  I have had such a busy, busy week and didn't want you to think I had fallen off the face of the Earth! ;)  I am popping in for a quick post before I head off to school.
Last year, when I was still creating for Northridge Magazine, my assignment was to create a Halloween onesie. So I used my Cricut and orange and black felt.
I hand stitched the orange circle onto the black felt.  I cut around it with fabric scalloped scissors.  Which is why my scallops are a bit wonky.
I stitched the letters with white thread so they would stand out a bit more. I added a little bit of lace to help "ground" the letters and some googly eyes. (adhered with fabric glue) I am finally handing this little cutie to a friend of mine who's baby girl is celebrating her first Halloween. :)
Today is 60's day at school.....so I've got my A-line skirt, Mary Janes, and headband all ready to go.
Then tonight I have a Halloween dance at my school.
So busy, busy!
Have a great day friends!
