Whimsy's Release Day!

Happy Saturday!
Today is Whimsy Stamp's release day!
I am excited to share this adorable new set called, Happy Hamsters. It seems like most families, at some point, allow their kids to have one right? We had them for awhile.  Had all the toys, the little "play pen" and such.  But we also know they are all little escape artists! You know where I am going with this story.....
Anyway, I stamped each image with a no line coloring ink and colored them with Copics.  I used the coordinating dies to cut out each image. (YAY! for coordinating dies!!)
For the background I used water color paper, a diamond stencil and Tim Holtz inks. I used the new  Slimline Bunting Borders die to make it look more festive. I adhered everything to the water colored panel. I stamped the sentiment on black card stock with Versamark ink and embossed it in white.  I popped up the sentiment and some of the balloons with Crafty Foam Tape.  I added tiny hearts from the Sweetheart Sprinkletz collection.  I had some of these round confetti pieces from my stash as well as the pearls.
Be sure to pop on over to the Whimsy store to see ALL of their brand new releases! Each one is cuter than the next!
Have a great weekend friends!

Super Puppy Power!

Howdy friends!
I have a fun card to share today using Whimsy Stamp's Super Dogs set. I colored this cutie with Copic markers and colored the background with Copics as well.  I used the Comic Half-Tone Stencil and alcohol ink to create a subtle texture to the background.
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed it in white.  I added some gold star stickers from my stash. I added gold cording at the top as a finishing touch.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Whimsy's new product release! You are going to love all the new stuff!! :)

Water Colors on Black Paper!

Hello friends!
Just a quick post today to share with you!
I had been wanting to use my new Karin Brushmarker Metallics and decided they would look super cool on black paper.  This first card was my first attempt.  Not my favorite, as my colors got a bit muddled. I used Whimsy Stamp's Beaucoup Bouquet with Versamark Ink. I colored everything using Karin DecoBrush Metallic Set.
I thought my second attempt was a bit better.  I added a bit more water to make the colors more transparent. When my card was finished I stamped the sentiment from the Bold Sentiment's set in Versamark and embossed it in white.
Have a great day!

Whimsy Stamp's Release Day!

Hello! Today is Whimsy Stamp's Release Day! I am sharing an adorable new set called, Bunny Babies.  For the first card I used the small sailboat and stamped it all over using a Versafine waterproof ink.  I used Karin Brushmaker Pro Markers. Once it was dry, I splattered it with white acrylic ink.  I water colored a strip of card stock and stamped it in Versamark.  I embossed it in white. I added a couple of Sparkletz Hearts, tied a bit of twine for that added "nautical" look, and used Stickles on the stars.
The second card uses the main image and was stamped with a Copic friendly ink, Memento black. I colored the background in black and added "stars" with a white gel pen and a gold pen. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it in white. I added a few teeny hearts from the Sprinkletz-Sweetheart collection.  As a finishing touch, I tied ribbon vertically in a pop of red.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by! Be sure to check out the rest of the release by Whimsy!

Christmas in July!

Hi friends!
I am featured on the Whimsy Blog today for their Fresh Friday's feature.  This is where the DT uses past stamp sets.  I love it because I often am so focused on the newest sets that the older sets don't get as much love as they should.
This adorable set is called, Candy Cane Lane.
I used the Slimline Windows Die to cut the pieces.
I stamped each image in Copic friendly ink and colored each image.  I added details with a white gel pen, Stickles, and white flock. I inked up the frame portion with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, Speckled Egg. I spritzed a bit of water mixed with Perfect Pearls to give it a bit more shimmer.
I added snowflakes and gemstones from the Fun Flurries Sparkletz collection.  I tied silk ribbon vertically to finish off the card.

I haven't shared much personal stuff on my blog lately.  But I had to share this bit of good news about my son, Kyle.  He made the decision to join the Navy.  He did so well on the testing that he will be in the Nuclear Propulsion training program.  He will get his bachelor's degree in December and head to boot camp in January.  I can not express how proud I am of this young man.
Thank you for letting me share today!

Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web Collaboration Week!

Hello friends!
Michele here with some fun projects to share! I couldn't be more excited that Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web have decided to team up! This is going to be a week filled with inspiration and fun prizes! Be sure to visit both blogs all week long for creative ideas and your chance to win some fun prizes!

My first card and second card uses Whimsy's Ahoy Matey clear stamp set.  I stamped it in a Copic friendly ink.  I fussy cut the images and set them aside. For the background I used Tim Holtz inks in shades of yellow, orange, and pink.  I then used Whimsy's Sun Ray's Stencil and Rina K's Neon Glitz Glitter Gel in neon pink.
I LOVE the sparkles the neon paste gives! I wanted clouds for the scene so I cut them using Whimsy's, Up in the Clouds Die set and Deco Foil White Flock Transfer Sheets.  I glued them to the front panel.  I used Crafty Foam Tape to pop up my little flamingo and sentiment.  I added a few stars from the Sparkletz Patriotic Stars collection.

My second card uses the same technique as the first card, but used Rink K's Neon Glitz Glitter gel in Neon Orange.
All that sparkle!!

My last card for today uses the Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheet in White Latte and Green Envy.  I paired it with Whimsy Stamp's Peony Flower Die.  I wanted to add color to my flowers so it would match my background paper a bit.  I pulled out my Copic AirBrush and gave it a hint of pink.  I did the same with the leaves to give them a bit of depth and dimension.
For the back panel I used the flock transfer sheets directly on Crafty Foam Tape.  I adhered them to a square panel of card stock and created a striped background.  I glued the flower, leaves, and ribbon to the corner.  I stamped and adhered the sentiment.  I added a few rhinestones from the Mermaid Sparkletz collection and Crystal stars.
Each company is giving away two $25 gift certificates. One on the Whimsy Blog and one on the Therm O Web blog.  To increase your changes of winning, leave a comment on each of the collaboration posts on both blogs. Comments must be left by Monday, July 19th at midnight EST.  Winners will be randomly selected and announced on Wednesday, July 21st.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

New Slimline Die by Whimsy Stamps!

Good morning!
Whimsy Stamps has a mini release today and they have created another awesome Slimline Die! This one is called, Slimline Pillows Die. I first inked up a piece of paper with Tim Holtz inks in Mustard, Picked Rasberry, and Ripe Persimmon.  I then used the die to create my windows for these adorable bees. :)
The bees are part of the Hap-Bee Birthday stamp set.  I colored them with Copic Markers and fussy cut each of them out. I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment in the center panel.  I adhered the colored panel over the card and then popped the bees up with Crafty Foam tape.
I added Love Hearts from the Sparkletz Collection.  I also added a few clear gems from the Sparkletz Icicles collection.

Thanks so much for "buzzing" by today! ;)
