Tuscan Rose Design

I've been on a roll with cards lately and decided to play some more with my Tuscan Rose goodies! I really love these flourishes and had this brainstorm to emboss them clear and brayer over it. My first attempt I chose some hideous green and YUCK, it went right into the garbage...bye bye glossy paper scrap! I tried again with the Regal Rose from SU! I liked it much better! Then I discovered that the butterflies, also from Tuscan Rose, matched perfectly! I wanted it to have that shabby feel so I found some really old paper....probably from the 90's if you can believe it...by Tracy Porter! OK maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but it is pretty old paper that I've had laying around awhile! It matched! I cut strips and inked the edges with Chocolate Brown. I used my Cuttlebug ribbon slide die cut and slid the Tracy Porter paper through it. I had this round sentiment by I don't know who.....Added some ribbon and this card was finished! I was pleased with how it came out....and my husband was glad I didn't use black...he hates when I use black on my cards!

DON'T FORGET WHEN I REACH 5,000 I WILL OFFER SOME NEW BLOG CANDY!!!!! Keep checking in!

Dry Embossed Card!

Who still does old fashioned dry embossing when we live in a world filled with Cuttlebugs and Sizzix? Well, I decided to pull all those old Lasting Impressions templates and play. It felt good to bring out that stylus and emboss! Yes, it definitely was more time consuming, but well worth it! This is the first card I completed with the itsy bitsy, polka dot bikini! I added a little flower and rhinestone to the bikini top. All the paper is Lasting Impressions. I did use my sander to distress the edges...gotta love that white core paper! I used a Martha Stewart Gerber Daisy for the top of the card. I also used my Karen Foster snap stamps to stamp hi. (Which, by the way... did you stop by Ellen's blog? She posted a comment the other day that the snap stamps will be discontinued!!!! Boo hoo...had to order a bunch in all different sizes!) Anyway, I will be gone all weekend scrappin with girlfriends! Saturday is a Y-ME crop for breast cancer, and Sunday my MIL is hosting a SU! party. My wonderful hubby has the kids! YEA! Have a wonderful weekend....and by the way one last thing (OK, I know I am rambling) Blog candy will be offered as soon as I hit 5,000!!!!

Cortney's NEW BIKE!!!!!

Cortney just got a new Tandem bike 2 days ago....unfortunately, it has been raining since yesterday! So today we sucked it up and went outside in between the drops! As you can see from the pictures, Cortney is having a ball! She LOVES her new bike! This bike was donated to us by another family that had a special needs son. He outgrew the bike and they gave it to us for NOTHING! The bike costs around $4,000! Can you believe what they charge? Because of the generosity of others, my daughter has something else in her life she can enjoy! I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people!

Another take on Beate's sketch!

I was playing around with this new stamp I bought from Michaels. It was colored in with Prisma colored pencils. When I found Beate's sketch it was a perfect solution to this card! I always get stuck on layouts! I used the Cuttlebug for the green paper and did quite a lot of paper piercing in pretty designs in the blue corner and at the bottom! Ellen Hutson has theeeee best piercing templates... Not sure if you can see it very well in the picture. Also used her clear, scalloped epoxy sticker over the fish to give it some dimension!

More Whipper Snapper Stamps!

I just love these stamps from Whipper Snapper! They are just the cutest! I fell in love with the rainy day stamp! I colored her in with Prisma colored pencils and mineral spirits. I stamped the umbrella on patterned paper and cut it out to "dress" it up! I then used crystal effects and glitter. I used my new Martha Stewart punch for the scalloped edge and a pretty polka dot ribbon from Michaels. I think the Happy sentiment was from the polka dot and paisley set. (IF I am wrong please let me know! Cuz I don't have the set in front of me!)

One more thing.....I went shopping today to start preparing for my next blog candy! I can't believe I will be at 5,000 hits! When I get to this mark I will display the blog goodies! Thanks for all your kind comments! It truly brings a smile to my face!

My First Whipper Snapper Stamp! Can You Believe IT?

Yes, I finally broke down and bought some Whipper Snapper Stamps! I think they are so cute! I needed a thank you card and found this cutie patootie little lamb. Even better I found the ribbon in the 1$ bin at Michael's! So somehow that makes sense....I bought this very inexpensive ribbon first AND THEN bought the stamp to match! Hee Hee! Anyway, I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for around my punched image. Looks a bit like stitching. I colored this cutie in with Prisma colored pencils and mineral spirits. I cut a larger circle for behind him. The paper is SU! bashful blue and .....I can't remember the other one! Used my paper piercer and it was a done deal! Fast, simple, and my kind of card! I will be posting more very soon!

I am patiently waiting for my arrival of Missy B. stamps as well....she has some adorable images too!

Two More Tuscan Rose Cards!

The second card is the first time I've ever used this fold! My Mom-in-Law showed it to me! Not that it was hard, just didn't know! I took the paper and cut it lengthwise! I used Tuscan Rose's collage sheet for the butterfly and some vintage Daisy D paper. I embossed the word Love and the flourishes...also from Tuscan Rose! I had a piece of vintage tea stained ribbon and added that! For me this card has a lot of "white" space....hard not to fill it alllll in! :)

The first card was also from Tuscan Rose's collage sheets! This was a super fast card to make! I almost feel guilty about it! I tore 3 layers of the Daisy D paper. I used the large flower from the same paper and added a rhinestone. I cut a slit in the flower so the flower collage sheet could fit in on an angle. I added some more rhinestones to glitz it up a bit and VOILA! done!

My Mother's Day Pictures!

As some of you know I am fortunate to have many mothers and 2 grandmothers. I have a Mom, Mom-in-law, a step-mom, my grandma and my husband's grandma. My Mother's Day started on Saturday where I celebrated my Step-mom's birthday/Mother's Day. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera, so I have no pics of her and I. This morning we stopped at my husband's Grandma's house and brought her a coffee cake and one of the shadow box frames of my kids pics. (posted up at the top) She was waaaaay more excited about the coffee cake! She very proudly told us that the last cake we brought she ate ALL BY HERSELF! She is 87 and still kicks butt! She is amazing!

Then we went to my Mom-in-Law's house and had coffee with her. Her and I exchanged scrapbook/card stuff! And I made her one of the shadow box frames of my kids! OF course she was teasing me because I put my kid's pics in upside down in the frame from where the hanger is on the back. I will have to get an easel for her....since she can't hang it! Too bad she isn't a bat.....OK really BAD humor!

Our last stop was at my Grandma's house where I met my mom and my sister from out of state. My Grandma is also 87. She was happy to see all of us! I think we tired her out though because my nephew is almost 2 and all over the place.... and then there's my kids! She suffers from Alzheimer's and sometimes the visits can be difficult. This one was a good one though! She was doing pretty well and was in good spirits! But I think when we were ready to go home she was glad to have her peaceful house back!

It was a busy day.....but glad to be able to see everyone!
