Card Diva's Challenge #3!

As many of you know I get together with a stamping group once a month. We pick and image and use it as our "challenge" for the month. In honor of Simone loving animals that do human like things, I picked this little guy! What better than a monkey in an inner tube? Can you imagine the business the zoos would get with this guy there? But I digress......anyway, I decided to make a round gatefold card like Debbie Olson showed on her blog a couple of weeks ago. SHE made it look easy! After about 50 pieces of cardstock I finally got the dimensions right! The image was colored in with my Copics. (Sorry JoAnne!) And I found this ancient tie dyed paper from eons ago to match!
And of course no card would be complete without some kind of embellishment!

Check out the other divas to see what they came up with! (If they haven't posted yet, try back again later!)

Have a great weekend everyone! (I am going away with hubby for his 40th!) No computer or kids for two whole days! : )

Sweet 'n Sassy

My MIL gave me this background stamp awhile ago and decided I needed to use it with Sweet 'n Sassy's new release called, Bee Happy. I stamped it on Kraft cardstock using River Rock. I cut the ovals out using my nestibilities. The images were colored in using Copics and then cut out. This was a pretty fast card to make once I got going! I love the look of the Kraft cardstock!

Off to a birthday party this afternoon! Happy Thursday everyone!!!

Cutie Katie

I am so happy to be scrapbooking again! Before I made it on Noel Mignon's DT, I had purchased loads of kits and papers from her store. I was totally motivated to pull out my massive stack of pictures and get busy! All the things you see on this page were from Noel's store with the exception of the jelly star and I love you. Those are Elsie Flannigan, and were bought ages ago! The pictures are my cutie pie niece, Katie. I babysat for my sister and brother in law a few months back and decided to do a mini photo shoot with her. I was pleased with how the pics turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! : )

2 Sketches 4 You!

This week at 2 Sketches 4 You, Laura is hosting. Her sketch is wonderful! I had quite a stash of Melissa Frances paper that I purchased from Noel Mignon's store. So I did what came naturally.......went vintage! The sentiment was by Hero Arts. The tag peeking out from behind is from Target. (It was part of their shabby/chic line). The word girlfriend is actually a rub on that I placed on paper and cut around. I did some machine stitching and added pearls to the corners.

On a personal note, I am having car trouble!! My right rear tire is bowing out. So Toyota thinks it could be a bent axle. They won't know for sure until I take the car in on Friday morning. Of course they won't fix it, because it is not a Toyota issue, it is a mobility issue. ( I have a ramp van). The mobility place is claiming that it is not a mobility issue......you get the idea! It is sooooo frustrating to have paid soooooooo much for this van and have had nothing but problems since day one! On top of that Cortney's chair STILL needs to be repaired for the umpteenth time! They are coming out AGAIN tomorrow to fix her brake! So due to all this crap...and a few other things.....I have been a bit foul! Maybe today will be better!

Bitten by the Bug's Elephant Challenge!

This week's Bitten by the Bug Challenge was to use the Elephant cut from the Zoobaloo cartridge. Lately, I seem to be obsessed with the eyeballs! I hate that there is just holes there. They look weird to me that way. So I tried, once again to make eyeballs and eyelashes. Not sure I succeeded, they still look a bit wonky to me. The paper was by Papertrey. I did some sewing, added some ribbons, a button, and a stick pin. It seems these days that my cards are pretty self explanatory. Maybe I need to liven things up a bit? Do a tutorial or something? But what? I will have to think of something! I don't want ya getting bored! : ) Have a great day!

Happy Father's Day!

This was a card I made for my hubby's 40th birthday. The stamp is from Inky Antics. I paper pieced his shorts and hat. I had to write Shagnastie on the hat. My hubby, and like 30 other guys go on a golf weekend every July. It has become such a huge event that they have dubbed it the Shagnastie Golf Weekend! They have visors and beer cozies with the name on them. We celebrated his birthday with family and next weekend I am taking him away for the weekend. I kind of feel bad that I didn't have a party for him....it seemed so subdued without one. Hopefully, next weekend will make up for it!
Here's me and the "old" man!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Especially all the fathers out there!
