JustRite CHA Winter Release-Butterfly Dreams!

Well CHA has started today, and I am a wee bit sad I couldn't be there with all the excitement of the new releases, and hanging out with my crafty friends! So instead I will be scrapping with friends here and posting a card that uses a brand new set from JustRite released just in time for CHA. The set is called Butterfly Dreams.  I embossed the swirl with white embossing powder and gave it a water color wash using my Twinkling H2O's. I used the Spellbinder's Labels's Twenty-Nine die to cut it out. The card base was created using Spellbinder's Decorative Labels Eight.  I stamped the sentiment in black and added a strip of red line tape, sprinkled it with glitter, and added 3 coordinating rhinestones.
The butterfly was stamped twice.  The top later was given a coating of glossy accents.  When it was dry, I added a bit more glossy accents to the body and sprinkled it with glitter.
Here is this beautiful set in its entirety.  I am anxious to use this set again!
Be sure to pop on over to the other designer's blogs for more ideas using this set!

I promise to share my news very soon!
Have a great day!

Sunflowers....

I have to admit that this week has kicked my butt.  I couldn't be happier that today is Friday!  Some weeks are busier than others, and this one was a bit nuts.  Cort has a big fundraiser next Saturday for the Special Olympics Basketball game.  Last night was "media" day.  Channel 5 news, here in Chicago, came to tape a segment on the basketball team. The kids were so excited!  We were home around 9 though, so my girl was tired.  (As was her mama!)
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I am really, really, going to enjoy my weekend! ; )
I have another Paper Loft card to share with you today.  The circle card and sunflowers were cuts by Silhouette.  I backed the circles with the Paper Loft pine cone paper. I love that it has kind of a window effect!
The flower centers were popped up and a generous amount of Flower Soft was added to the centers. I added  a sentiment from JustRite, ribbon, and green twine to finish it off.
I have some exciting news to share with you next week regarding Cortney.  I literally have to keep pinching myself to be sure that this is real.
I will be back this weekend with more JustRite releases and my big news!

JustRite CHA Winter Release-Buntings and Banners!

Good morning to you! I have another CHA release by JustRite! It was designed by Samantha Walker, and it is seriously the cutest set! The set is called Buntings and Banners.  Who doesn't love banners? I created a fairly CAS card.  I stamped the banners in several colors and added them to cream string.  I did a bit of scoring on my card stock and added several colors of gems.

This set has endless possibilities! I am anxious to use it again and incorporate those adorable little buttons!
The best part about this set, is it coordinates with these Spellbinder's dies. Totally Awesome!  ( I think I dated myself just now....... ; )
Be sure to visit the other designers to see what they created using this cute set.

Paper Loft Sketch Challenge!

Good morning and happy "hump" day to ya!  Paper Loft is having their monthly sketch challenge!  You could win a Paper Loft prize package and become Paper Loft's March Guest Designer! Check out the Paper Loft blog for all the details!
I love sketches because it takes a lot of the guess work out of designing a card.  I often don't have a clue how to start, as for me, the layout is the most difficult part.
Sketches do the hard part for ya!
I used images from the Happy collection. I matted the hearts on cream card stock and used scalloped scissors to create a subtle matte.  I did a bit of machine stitching to add a pop of red to the background paper.  I added lace, folded up the bottom heart and added loads of glitter to it.
I used my Silhouette to cut the daisy.  Flowers always seem to be the perfect accent!
This week has been a bit tough getting back into a routine, but it is good to be back!  I just sometimes wish school started at 10 AM instead.........  ; )

Today is the last day to enter Cindy's Coutts on-line card class giveaway!  Be sure to enter HERE!

JustRite CHA Winter 2013-Special Gifts Labels Twenty-Nine

I have another new JustRite CHA release to share with you today!  I am a day later than the other gals, since they posted theirs yesterday.  But that's pretty typical of me.....a day late and a dollar short! ; )
It is a beautiful set called, Special Gifts Labels Twenty-Nine.   This set has tons of friendship sentiments and fabulous design elements! It coordinates with Spellbinder's Labels Twenty-Nine dies.
I stamped the sentiment in aqua and used Spellbinder's oval die to cut it out.  I matted it with their scalloped oval die and inked the edges.   I stamped the rectangular piece in an avocado color and sponged the edges.  It was cut out using Spellbinder's Labels Twenty-Nine Die.    I added brown pearls and lace. I used the Labels Twenty-Nine for the plaid paper as well as the base card.  For the card itself, I left the die on and sponged it with Antique Linen Distress ink.  I love the crisp border you are left with when you take the die off!
The flower was cut using my Cricut Expression and the Flower Shoppe Cartridge.  I added some satin ribbon, leaves, twine, and pearls.
Here is the set in its entirety and the Spellbinder's dies that coordinate.
Be sure to pay these ladies a visit! Their cards are gorgeous!

Crafty Secret's Linky Party and Design Team Challenge!

Today is Crafty Secret's Linky Party!  The challenge?  Create anything using any of Crafty Secret's digital images!  And since the next holiday around the corner is Valentine's Day, I couldn't resist making a 3-D Valentine garland. I even have a little tutorial a little further down.  : )
I incorporated some of the Valentine images in between the 3-D hearts as well as a bit of pink tulle.
I added some tiny pictures and placed them in bottle caps.  They were adhered to the tag.

Here's my oldest dog, Skippers.  He is such a gentle soul.......
I added Cortney, Kyle's, and Myla's pictures as well.......

I think maybe I am going to add a string of clear lights to my garland.  : )

If you are interested in making your own 3-D hearts, this is how I did it.
1. Print your own digital papers.  I printed both sides for some of my hearts.
2. Fold in half.  The part inside is what will actually show.
3. Add some glue to the inside.
4. And clip it until it dries.  This becomes the top portion of the heart.
5. Once dry, pull ends down
6. Glue ends and again clip until dry.
7. I used scalloped scissors to cut excess paper off.
I did add a little bit of glitter to the front of each heart.  I threaded my needle with clear thread and "Sewed" my garland together.
It was a bit of a challenge to get a decent picture!
Be sure to visit the other designers to see what they have created! They are amazing and are gonna knock your socks off!
