Moxie Fab Sketch Challenge!

Have you seen THIS new magazine by PaperCrafts? It is such a great resource! There are many times I have a creative block and I love to refer back to sketches to help me out. So I decided to play along and create a card based on this sketch! I've never used a word bubble in any of my cards........guess that's why they call it a "challenge!" : ) So here is the sketch over at Moxie Fab World!

I pulled out some of my very neglected stamps and decided on this Inkadinkado Hen and a Cornish Heritage Farm Chicken Wire, background stamp. I was trying to be somewhat clever with my word bubble.....but as I am not really a "clever" person.....this was the best I could do....... : )
The hen was colored with my Copics, cut out, and Crystal Effects was applied to her whole body. Her beak was stamped and colored a second time. I cut it out and popped it up a bit. The grass was cut using my Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge. I did a bit of distressing around the edges as well!

It is Friday......and I couldn't be happier! My plans this weekend are to go to my Grandma's house Saturday morning and clean, clean, clean! She is almost 90 and she can't do this herself....so I will be a "Merry Maid" for a few hours. Saturday night, the hubby and I are going on a "date." I am thinking a dinner and show. I'd like to see Date Night......because I could use a good laugh! (Anyone see it? Did you like it? ) Then on Sunday......church, finish some picture hanging in my bedroom that was just repainted, and that's about it. : ) What ya got up your sleeves this weekend? Inquiring minds wanna know!
Have a great one.....whatever you decide to do!!! : )

Blessings.....

I GOT MY COMPUTER BACK!!! I am so thrilled that my computer is back home, up and running, and actually pretty fast too! And the best part? I didn't pay a dime! Everything was under warranty........thank goodness! So now I can get back to my regular blogging and visit all of you! : )

I have a Crafty Secrets card to share with you today using the Message on a Bottle, set. I stamped it with Black Momento ink and used Prismas pencils to shade it in. The label was stamped with Papertrey Ink's Pure Poppy and then cut out. I added Dazzling Diamonds (SU!) to the top and bottom of the perfume bottle. I also used Crystal Effects for the bow to give it some dimension. The paper is by Prima and I added some red pearls as a finishing touch.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit me! I SOOOOOOO appreciate it!
Have a WONDERFUL Thursday!!!!

A Sketch and a Walk Down Memory Lane....

I have tons of old photos that adorned my walls.....but as the kids are getting older, it is impossible to keep them all up. Unless you truly don't want any of your walls to show! LOL! As I have been painting and redecorating, I've been going through old photos. It is so bitter sweet. My kids are teenagers and some days I can't believe that my babies arent' babies anymore. I know that is what is supposed to happen.....but it definitely tugs at my heart.....especially when I looked at this photo of Kyle and me.

He was 3 months old here and had a striking resemblance to Charlie Brown! LOL! His bald little head, chubby cheeks, and those dimples............ooooooohhhh those dimples! He even had that mischievous grin.....some things never change! I often have difficulty scrapping these 8 x 10 photos. I want the focus to be on the photo.....so I usually keep my embellishments to a minimum.
My little hand cut heart, stitching, and flower........

All of these papers and embellishments can be found in Noel Mignon's Sonoma County kit. (Which BTW, there is only one left!)

My boy is a teenager now.....no more bald head or chubby cheeks.....just lots of attitude .....and lucky for him.........those dimples!!!! : )

Cutting Cafe'!

Good morning to you! What a productive day I had yesterday! My bedroom is officially done being painted, my garden has been weeded, bills were written, laundry was done, and I even managed to get one card made! I created this card using the Cutting Cafe's All About Mom's set. I decided to use up the scraps on my desk and make a "quilt" with 'em! Papers are Melissa Frances. My stitching in the corners went a bit wonky.....hence the glittery Martha Stewart corner pieces! I bought these pretty glittery butterflies from Michaels and removed the plastic body part and added a button and stick pins instead.

It is back to school time for me and Cort today! She is so happy to go back and see all of her friends and teachers! Plus Tuesdays is a swim day for her........so added bonus!
Still no computer for me.....I tried calling the guy and he didn't answer the phone. WTF? I am sooooo aggravated! I have to retake all of my pics and upload them to my tiny computer because as you know I have nothing but time........nothing but time. (Said in my best sarcastic voice!)
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!

Working.....at the Car Wash.....

Good morning and happy Monday to you!!! It is going to be 72 degrees, sunny, and the kids and I are off today! I can't wait to dig my hands into the ground and start getting my yard ready for summer! So today I had to share a LO that epitomizes summer! I took these pictures of my darling son washing his Dad's car....which believe me...is a rarity in my house! LOL! Nothing better than a hardworking 12 year old...is there? I used Noel Mignon's Sonoma County kit. (Love, love, love this kit!!! AND there is ONE left!!!!!) I did add some clear sequins to represent water droplets.....not sure if you can see it clearly in this photo though.

I am still without my regular computer.......I needed a new video card, which had to be ordered......so hopefully today I will hear from the computer guy! I am going through withdrawal not visiting all of you! : ) So please be patient with me.....I'll be up and running again soon!
Have a WONDERFUL day!!!!! : )
