Caffinated Cropper Blog Hop!

Good morning, happy Friday, and HAPPY WEEKEND to you! The DT gals at Caffinated Cropper have some fun things to show you using Amy's kits! I used the Birds of a Feather kit, as well as the doily and white lace from, With a Cherry on Top kit. I have seen some of these quarter circle cards and decided to give it a go. I love the unique shape of it! I cut a 10 inch circle using my Cricut machine. I cut the circle in half. I took the half and folded it in half again. I took my scalloped scissors and cut along the edge. The owl image is from Whimsy Haven, and is so darn cute! I paper pieced her a bit and added some color with my Copics. And of course, I had to add some glitter to her eyelids and body. : )

I hand cut the leaves from some green paper in my stash.

The flower was created using a scrap piece of white lace from the kit. I spread some fabric glue on it and rolled it tightly. When it was dry, I trimmed the bottom a bit and added a pearl button to its center. So from now on you can create these cute lil ' flowers with all those scraps of ribbon you've been afraid to throw away, but wondered what the heck you were gonna do with them!
Amy is offering some promotional and sale items....so be sure to visit The Caffinated Cropper Blog for details! Are you ready for more fabulous projects? Head on over to..............

Hope you have a wonderful, fabulous, sunshiney filled weekend!

Just Experimenting!

Good morning! I have a card to share with you today that is a bit different from my normal style. It actually was a result of playing around in my craft room. Cortney had this pair of plaid shorts that were too small and the waist band elastic was shot. So being the crafty gal I am.....ahem..... decided to recycle them! I cut the butterfly out of her shorts using a Spellbinder's die. I also cut 3 layers of tulle and added that on top of the plaid butterfly. The background was embossed using a Spellbinder's pendant die. I wanted a fairly neutral background so the colorful butterfly would take center stage. The ribbon was from Michaels but it was too white originally, so I Glimmer misted in Coffee Shop. It gave it a more aged look!

............only 17 more school days! (But who's counting? : ) Tonight I am attending our district's retirement party for 3 of our teachers. It is always fun.....but a bit sad too. They will be greatly missed next year! Have a great day!

You Know I Love My Dog.....Right?

......It's a sickness really. Like, for example, who's picture is on my phone? The kids? Nope. My husband of nearly 17 years? Nope. It's my dog, Skippers. I take pictures of him all the time. Like I think he is going to change or something? But I can't resist those big black eyes, and that curly Q hair, or his super sweet disposition. So I take a zillion pictures......like a crazy person. So bare with me while I share another LO of him. : )

I used Noel's Lemonade Stand kit. I love it's yummy summery color palette! I used my Quickutz Pendant die to create the banner.

I love the mixture of flowers in this kit!
Just had to glitter up the title.....sweet? sugar? Glitter looks like sugar? Get it?

There are 7 Lemonade Stand kits left! Better grab one quick!
Noel is putting sneaks of her July kit up on the MB.....click HERE to see this fabulous new kit! It will make ya wanna grab your swim suit, a margarita, and put on some Jimmy Buffet music! (OK......maybe just the margarita and Jimmy Buffet music....skip the swim suit! LOL)

Cutting Cafe'

Good morning! I have a card to share with you today using Cutting Cafe's Beautiful Blooms set. I used Papertrey's Kraft cardstock and some Melissa Frances DP. I printed the images on Papertrey Vintage cream card stock and colored the flowers with my Copics. I added a rhinestone to the center. I printed the vase on DP but did add a bit of shadowing using my Copics as well! I used various Spellbinders dies too. I wanted the flowers to stand out, which is why I added the cream circles behind them. : )

I am on the official count down to the start of summer vacation.......only 4 weeks to go! (4 very long weeks ; )
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!!! : )

How About Some Manly Cards?

Good morning and happy Monday to you! (Now there's an oxymoron.....happy? Monday?) I had a busy productive weekend! I got my winter clothes put away....thank goodness I won't have to wear my wool sweaters in July! I am thrilled to have my Capri's, summer skirts, and lightweight tops out! We had a fabulous home cooked meal Saturday night complete with wine, Dean Martin, and candles. (And yes, the kids ate with us.) : ) Sunday my MIL and I worked on Cort's graduation table favors. We made 55 punched cheerleaders. Yep. Crazy. We punched 110 arm, 110 legs, 55 heads, 55 skirts, 110 pom poms, ..................and pieced it all together. 5 hours later, with sore hands and backs we ended up with 55 adorable cheerleaders! We are going to add them to an altered paper towel tube cut in thirds and filled with candy. I will be sure to take pics when they are all done to share with you!

So on to today's cards! I used the fabulous new Crafty Secret's set called Car Classics. It is so perfect for the men in your life and a blast to color! (Think Father's Day people!) I used my Prisma colored pencils and Gamsol. The paper is by Anna Griffin. I stamped the words on Kraft cardstock by Papertrey Ink in brown Momento ink. The oval was cut using Spellbinders and then airbrushed. I added some twine and a button for a more manly look!
I also added Crystal lacquer to the windshield and clear Dew Drops to the headlights.
I created a second card with the same set and papers. This image was also colored with Prismas. I used the "negative" space in the denim paper to create a dimensional frame. The background was also airbrushed. I love the font used for the sentiment! So RETRO! : )
I added some rhinestone swirls to my glittered star......(yep.....even the men's cards aren't safe from my glitter!)
AND I have one more BIG announcement!!! I am staying on the Noel Mignon DT!!!! I am SOOOOO excited to be working with Noel, the rest of the amazingly talented DT, and her fabby kits!!! Click HERE to see the rest of the team!!!!

Sorry for being so long winded today! Hope you have a great one!!!
