Birthday Party JustRite Style!

I am finally posting the goody bags and such from Cort's birthday pool party! I was completely inspired by Michelle Wooderson's altered clothespins and bags idea! What a great way to give out party favors. I used JustRite's Friendship set. But I have to tell you a lil' secret........I didn't color all 10 cakes for the favors.......I took the one I colored to KinKo's and color copied the rest of 'em! (I know a bit lazy, but what can I say!?) I took them home, stamped the outside border separately and layered them using my Nesties. I covered the clothespins with K & Company paper and some Papertrey buttons. The bags are filled with various girly/Hannah Montanna stuff. (lip gloss, nail file, stickers, etc.).

I also gave the kids a little container of M & M's. At Michaels a few weeks ago they had bags of M & M's in really pretty colors that you could buy cool is that? So I bought hot pink and turquoise.......ya know, to stick with the color scheme! Then I NEEDED to create a cute container to put 'em in! I used JustRite's What Cookin? set.

Here are a few pics from Cort's party. : ) Of course we HAD to have a Hannah Montana cake......I think Jewel spelled her name with a u at you see the lovely yellow smudge under the o?
Here is a picture of the group.....missing three. Two of her friends left early, one couldn't make it......which was unfortunate because it was Cort's "boyfriend." His name is Jimmy and Cort affectionately calls him, "Jimbo." They have been in school together since they were 3 and they are just the cutest things together. He is in a wheelchair too and they will reach and stretch just so they can hold hands....,,, : )
When I see the girls together, and the moms chatting and having a good time, I really take a step back and truly "see" how lucky I really am. Not many people have their very own support group at their fingertips. Not many kids have loyal friends who love you unconditionally. And these girls do.......... The pics aren't beautiful in the fact that everyone is wearing their best or have their hair done......quite the contrary, but what is beautiful is their inner beauty. I love them all.......

And of course my girl...............Love her best.........

I am off to my Grandma and Grandfather's today. I made them a pan of lasagna since neither of them really cooks anymore. (89 & 80 years old....) My Grandfather asked if I could take photos of their I am bringing the ole' camera today!
This weekend I will be participating in Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. I've never done this before, so I am really looking forward to it!
And this is why I haven't been blog hopping much these I apologize! I will come visit everyone next week, I promise!!!

Crafty Secret's New Postcard Kits!

Crafty Secrets has done it again! Sandy has come out with these new adorable postcard kits! The design team has been creating with these like crazy this past week. Head on over to the CS blog to check out some of the samples! I decided to make a baby wall hanging. I love this sweet baby girl! I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Antique Linen and then with Frayed Burlap to darken it up a bit. I had these pretty beads from the days when I thought maybe I wanted to make jewelry. (Then realized there ARE only 24 hours in a day.....LOL!) I strung them on waxy floss and tied it. I threaded the crystal buttons and glued them to the front. I tied some vintage lace and added this little pink stick pin.

For the back of the postcard I inked it up as well and then stamped the images in the 2 inks. (The stamps are part of the postcard kits!!!)

Crafty Secrets is doing 2 giveaways, The first is for for all 4 Vintage Postcard Kits! The second draw will be for both of our new Thanksgiving and Mouse Party Stamp sets! Just leave a comment here on this blog post for your chance to win!!! Good luck!
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit!!!

2 Page LO Challenge!

Cortney's party was a success last night! The kids swam, hung out, and had a great time. (And it didn't rain.....thank goodness!) I will post some pics tomorrow.

Noel's challenge this week was to create a 2 page LO. I had a difficult time with this lately I only seem to create one page LO's. But I managed to crank out this one using this year's 4th of July pics. It is a scrapbooker's dream to have everyone's clothes match!!!! : ) So of course I had to go with the red, white, and blue theme.....
I used Melissa Frances papers. 7 Gypsies, and Jenni Bowlin.

Do you see this crazy kid? LOVE him!!!! : )

I need to clean up my house and get some laundry done today........have a fabulous Wednesday!!!

Sweet Summer Treat

This week's Bitten by the Bug Challenge was to use the ice cream cone cut from the Indie Cartridge. We also got the opportunity to use these pretty crocheted flowers from Paper Blooms. The one I had was originally white and I wanted to "dirty" it up a bit. So I sprayed it with walnut ink and then ran it under water. Once dry, it looked more vintage looking and matched my DP better. The paper is Basic Grey's new Pink Lemonade. (yum!)

I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap inks. The sentiment is by JustRite. The cone was glitzed up a bit with Martha Stewart's black glitter.

For your chance to win some pretty crocheted flowers go HERE for info! : )

Off and running this morning. I have tutoring first, then I need to go to Party City for balloons, one more tablecloth, and then to Jewel for Cort's Hannah Montana cake as well as ice. My husband just informed me that the coolers are buried under boxes of clothes in the basement............great. So I guess I better get a move on.......

Have a great day!!!!

JustRite is Sponsoring CPS!

This week JustRite is the sponsor for Card Positioning Systems this week!! We got this fabulous sketch from Tami Mayberry to play around with. I am giving you a sneak peek at an adorable JR Halloween set coming out in August. It is called, Witch Way to the Treats set! (Lots of cute lil' images! : ) Edited: This set and Autumn Blessings are available this Wednesday, July 22nd! JR is also giving blog candy away!!! Leave a comment on this post by Tuesday night July 21st at 12 am EST to win the 1 3/16" stamper and the Witch Way to the Treats Stamps. woohoo!

I pulled out some of last years' Halloween papers by Making Memories and K & Company. I inked the edges a bit with Tim Holtz Black Soot distressing ink. I colored my image with Copics twice and layered the image with pop dots. I used several Nesties to create a focal point for my image.
See popped up Frankie? : )

If you would like a chance to win some fabulous prizes, go HERE to upload your card! Hope you get the chance to play along!
My son is at Boy Scout camp all week. Do you know what that means? No kids from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. (Cort is in summer school) Is it wrong to be happy about that? I can stamp, shop, stay in my PJ's all day.......ahhhhhhhhhh.
Tomorrow I am having Cort's very belated kid's birthday party. 10 kids are coming with their parents for a pool party. So I guess, I will have to get dressed today, to order her cake (Hannah Montana) and some food. I am finishing up their treat bags (used JR stamps!) and will take some pics later of them.
Have a fabulous Monday!!!
