Water Colored Ornament!

Good morning and happy Monday to you! It is cold and snowy here in Chicago! It makes me want to cozy up in my home and craft! But duty calls and I need to get my booty to work....ugly Christmas sweater and all! ;)  I found a bit of "me" time this weekend and created several ornaments.
This one uses a die from Spellbinders called, Heirloom Ornaments.  I used Tim Holtz inks on the smaller ornament piece in shades of orange, yellow, and red.

I then layered a Tim Holtz stencil over both pieces and applied texture paste.  I sprinkled it with glitter while it was still wet.  I used Scrapbook Adhesives foam tape between layers for a bit of dimension.  I added a Just Rite Poinsettia die cut to the top.  It was given a wash of color with my Zig Water color markers.  I added a big white pom pom to the center and couple of jingle bells.
I added an SRM sentiment as my finishing touch.  I love seeing all of the ornaments I've made through the years decorate the tree!  (Among my kids' homemade ornaments that they made me as little ones!)

Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for stopping by today!

Getting Back in The Swing of Things!

Created by Michele Kovack
Good morning!
Did you miss me? ;)
I am home now for the summer, and I am hoping to use this time to get caught up
on the many things that need to be completed in my house. (We just redid our hardwood floors, updated the kitchen etc)
I am also hoping to get back to a somewhat normal blogging and crafting schedule.
I have a card today that I actually made about a month ago before I left the JustRite Design team.
It is one of their new sets called, Large Oval Celebration.
I colored the image with Copics in shades of pale pinks, greens, and blues.  I stamped the frame in a light aqua color and die cut the ovals.
I added pretty silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store as a finishing touch.
Created by Michele Kovack
I am off to IKEA with my son today.  He wants a desk in his room for painting War Hammer models. (He's got a bit of crafty blood in him!) ;)
It is nice being able to spend some one on one time with him.
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

Remember You are Loved....

We all need a reminder once in awhile.  Life has a way of knocking the wind out of your sails sometimes.  This card is just that. A reminder.
The set is a brand new set by JustRite called, Remember You Are.  I stamped the flowers in two colors, red and pink.  The image was cut from a Spellbinder's circle and while the die was in place I sponged a bit of yellow and pink Tim Holtz inks. I splattered the image with a bit of silver Heidi Swap paint.
Created by Michele Kovack
The background was also water colored.  The circle die is by Lawn Fawn and that was water colored too.  (Why stop now?) ;)  I added gold cording and a bit of gold paper behind the image.  I also added a few sequins.
Created by Michele Kovack
There is so much to share with you, but lately my time has been quite limited.  But I will tell you because many of you asked.....and I didn't mean to leave you hanging, that Brian has to have his gallbladder taken out.  We are hoping that the surgery will be scheduled next week.  He is still having quite a bit of discomfort.
The rest I will tell you soon. I just need a bit of time to get my thoughts together.
Thank you for stopping.
Thank you for leaving comments.....sometimes it gets a bit lonely over here. ;)
Have a wonderful day!!

Let it Snow!

Good morning! I feel like it has been forever since my last post!  So much going on lately with the holiday, shopping, and a little medical scare we had with my husband over the weekend.
He is okay, thankfully, but was definitely something that reminds you how precious life is.
I have been meaning to show you the rest of my November projects for JustRite's new release.
Created by Michele Kovack
They have the prettiest dies this month! I used the large snowflake die and the poinsettia die.  I know they are going to be used  A LOT this holiday season!
I cut all of it out of water color paper and used my Koi water colors in pinks and oranges.
I assembled everything and added gold Stickles to the outer edge of the snowflake.
Created by Michele Kovack
The center sentiment is part of JustRite's Chrismas Mini Tags Stamp set.  I added a bit of glossy accents and glitter to give it a snowy effect. For a finishing touch, I added pearls and a string to hang it.

My precious family......so glad they are mine.
Enjoy your day! and thank you so much for popping by!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve...Eve!

Good morning!
I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today with a Thanksgiving card!
I have used products from some of my most favorite companies.
The die cut leaves are from JustRite. They were water colored using my Zig Clean Brush Markers.  I gave them a coating of glossy accents and glitter. I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L's DODZ™ - Medium to adhere the leaves.
Created by Michele Kovack
The sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  I adhered it across the leaves using Crafty Foam Tape. I tied black twine and a few sequins to finish off my card.
Created by Michele Kovack
Today is my last day of work for the week! I am so glad too because my house is filthy and the laundry is piled high.  I am hosting Thanksgiving and have so much to do!  I am thinking I should dim the lights, put a few candles on and forget about the cleaning! LOL!
Have a great day my friends!

JustRite's November Release!

It's a snowy morning here and I am a day late getting this post up for JustRite's November release.
I seem to be a day late and a dollar short these days.
I could give you all of the reasons why, but I will save that for another day. ;)
I am sharing a card made with JustRite's adorable new set, We Are Having a Baby.
Created by Michele Kovack
I stamped the image with black Staz on ink and water colored it using my Zig Clean Brush Markers.  I splattered it with a bit of black water color and of course had to add a bit of glitter to the balloons. The circle dies are from Tattered Lace
Created by Michele Kovack
I threaded a bit of silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store. The background was inked with yellow, orange, and pink Tim Holtz inks.  I splattered it with a bit of water for that cool pooling effect. I added a few sequins and a tiny pearl to the teddy bear's bow.
Created by Michele Kovack
JustRite has released their entire November collection...so you must stop by their blog to see everything! You will be so excited for all of the new dies and stamp sets!
Have a great Saturday my friends!

JustRite's June Release Day 1!

It's that time again where JustRite is revealing their brand new sets!  I love this time of the month!  Today's set is called, Let Your Soul Sing It has all of these great mix and match pieces.  I have been on an embossing kick lately and used several of my Zing powders.  I embossed on black paper and cut it out with Spellbinder's Gold Labels 4.
I added rhinestones to the flowers' centers and added a larger satin flower, seam binding, and a couple of sprigs of tulle.
I created a few "buds" with satin and some silk stamens I had on hand. I tucked them in around the larger flower.
Here is the set in its entirety.  :)
Be sure to pay the other designers a visit! I know I always say this, but their projects will knock your socks off!

Happy Thursday! Have a great day!!

JustRite Papercraft 2013 CHA Winter Release! Enjoy The Day!

CHA is right around the corner, and I sure wish I were able to travel to sunny California!  But instead I will celebrate CHA here from the comfort of my home. ; ) JustRite has come out with a boat load of new sets for CHA, and I am thrilled to share them with you over the next week!
This set is called, Enjoy the Day and it coordinates with Spellbinder's Vintage Labels Four. As you know, I LOVE glitter and went a little glitter crazy!  I covered the entire image with various shades of glitter. It was a bit putzy, but I loved the end result!
I decided to incorporate a lot of white space since my focal images was very glittery and colorful.  I used vellum to matte the image and 3 stripes of American Crafts Glitter tape.  (Just in case there wasn't enough glitter!) ; )
Here is the set in its entirety.......beautiful right?
These are the Spellbinder's dies that coordinate with this set.

Be sure to visit the other talented designer's blogs! They really showcase the versatility of this set!

JustRite's New Release Day 1- With Sympathy

JustRite has a boatload of new sets being released! One is more fabulous than the next, and I am so excited to share them with you over the next couple of weeks! This first set is such a beautiful set, called With Sympathy. It is a set that we hate to break out, but is so necessary to help ease the loss of a loved one. It is tastefully done and the artwork is gorgeous. I colored this rose with my Copic Markers and cut it out using Spellbinder's Nested Medallion die . I sprayed the entire image with Goosebumpz and inked the edges in brown. The Goosebumpz leaves clear rain drops on the image and dries quickly!
You can see it a bit closer here. The sentiment was stamped on vellum with black Staz On ink. I cut the strip and added a pearl to hide my adhesive underneath. I added seam binding, twine, vintage lace, and a few pearls to finish it off.

Here is a peek at the set in its entirety.

And a bit of info for ya!
You can pre-order the 2012 catalog here!!

Just Rite's Topsy Turvy Cake!

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday weekend! I was fortunate enough to have an extended weekend and enjoyed every minute of it! I hosted our Thanksgiving meal, and Friday was spent decorating the house for Christmas. I love the cozy feeling of the twinkling lights and putting out all of my Christmas treasures for display. Saturday the family and I decided to head to the mall and get our Christmas shopping done. We were quite successful and got almost everyone on our list done. When we got home and unpacked our gifts, we made a big bowl of buttery popcorn and watched Super 8. It was a great movie and pretty action packed. Yesterday was a "stay in your pajamas" kind of day! I got a bit of crafting done and tried to relax for a change!

Today, it's back to work! I'm not complaining though....... : )

I have a birthday card to show you using a fun set by JustRite called Topsy Turvey Cakes. This is the second card I've created with this whimsical set. The first card was HERE. I colored it in using my Copic markers and added teeny rhinestones to the centers of the flowers. I also colored additional colored flowers to add to the side of my "frame." This was created using the Beaded Oval's Die by Spellbinders and cutting out the center with an oval die. The large flower was cut using Cuttlebug's Daisy Quilling kit.
I added a bit of twine and some leaves cut from corrugated cardboard. I swiped a bit of white paint across them to bring out the texture.

I also have GOOD news to share! I have made it to the TOP 5 in Blog Guide Book's Top Blog Contest! It is all because of YOU! Thank you, thank you for all of your votes!!! The last round starts some time today, and if you get a chance to vote again (the last time I promise!) I would SO appreciate it!!!!! Please help me if you can by spreading the word on Facebook, your blogs etc! THANK YOU!!!!! : D

JustRite's New Release!

Today is Part II of JustRite's new release! The set I am sharing with you is called Winter Words. This is a perfect set for creating something on its own, or incorporating into other paper projects. I love anything that is so versatile!

I know Valentines Day is a looooooong way off, but I just couldn't help myself with this card! I created a shaped card using my Cricut Expression, the Gypsy to weld the image together and the I Love You a Latte Cartridge. I used liquid applique and glitter for the foam. I bought a zillion paper straws off of Etsy and have been having fun incorporating them into my projects.......like I did here! : )

The heart is part of the Winter Words set and was stamped in a pale pink, glossy accents applied, and glitter sprinkled over the top. The sentiment was stamped in Pure Poppy by Papertrey Ink and the banners were hand cut.

I added a bit of tulle, a doily, and a pearl to finish my cup of coffee up!

Be sure to visit these other talented designer's blogs! They have some beautiful winter inspired projects for you!

New Release by JustRite and a Tutorial at Splitcoast!

Good morning to you! My head cold is turning into a chest cold....ick! I was hoping to wake up this morning coldless.....but no such luck!

I have a few things to share with you this morning. The first order of business is JustRite's new background stamps. The first one is called Scrolled Vine and the second is Vintage Wallpaper.
Unfortunately, I only have one sample using the Vintage Wallpaper set.

I stamped the background image in Versamark and sprinkled it with white embossing powder. I then took a brayer and applied 3 different fall inspired colors. Lastly, I took a cloth and wiped off any excess ink. I used a little bit of glossy accents to the edges and sprinkled with a bit of glitter. The leaves were cut using Spellbinder's dies and the Autumn Words set....also by JustRite. The sentiment is part of the same set.

I also wanted to let you know that I have a tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers on how to make this fun little ornament! It uses the Christmas Treasures set by JustRite. I hope you will pop on over there to take a quick peek! ; )

Please be sure to visit these talented ladies blogs for more inspiration on using these beautiful new background stamps!

It was a fast, easy card to make!
I also sprayed the surface with some new stuff I picked up called Goosebumpz.....it makes it look like rain drops.....which looks waaaaay cooler in person!
