Halloween Grunge

Happy Hump Day!
I have a card to share with you today that started out as an experiment, a bit of messy playing.  After using Tim Holtz Crackle paste, Grit paste, chunky glitter, machine stitching and some of my favorite Whimsy Stamp's dies, this was the end result.  ;)
The light post and bats are part of the Elvira Moonlighting Die set.   The moon is from the Howling Die Set.  The gates are from the Build-a-Graveyard Die set.  The pink paper is from the 6 x 6 Pink Plaids paper pack.

Hello Friends!
Happy Friday to you!
I (almost) made it through my first full week of school....and can I just say that this gal is tired?  I am not used to standing all day long! But other than my old achy body, it was a great week, and it felt good to be back in my classroom!
Are you loving this Halloween release as much I am?  This set by Whimsy Stamps Cat-O-Lanterns is one of my favs! I colored this cuties with Copics and fussy cut them.  I used the new Bookeh papers and will definitely be using these a lot!
I added a few clear bubbles, a bit of twine, and a couple of posies to finish off my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out Whimsy Stamp's latest release!

Thank You for Your Service, Whimsy Stamp's New Release!

Hello friends!
My husband and I just got back from Arizona. We got to see all of the bucket list items while there, Grand Canyon, Antelope Cavern, Horseshoe Bend, numerous hikes etc. My son and his wife took their honeymoon in Disney at the same time we were gone. While there he was selected as veteran of the day while there.  He was part of the flag folding and color guard ceremony.  He was touched and extremely proud, and so was this mama.
So Whimsy Stamps had great timing with their newest stamps and dies celebrating our military.  As a DT member, it touches my heart that they created these sets. I used the new Sheroes Die set.  It was intended for a female military person, but I knew I wanted to save these cards for my son.  The edges of the circles have crackle paste on them and once dry I rubbed some brown distress crayon in the cracks.  The paper is part of the new Military Slimline Paper Pack.  I did a bit of machine stitching on the edges and distressed them. A few stars and twine finish off the card.
Sheroes Die and the Slimline Military Paper Pack was used again here.  I layered some vintage tags that were splattered and distressed. I added a red poppy and burlap.
And here is my son graduating from the Nuclear Program in South Carolina.  So proud of this kid of mine!
Be sure to stop by Whimsy to see the full release!
Thank you for making me part of your day!

Same Die, Different Look

Good morning friends!

I have another card using the Coneflower Frame Die from Whimsy Stamps.  Last card was soft and vintage.  This card I decided to go bold.  The card uses several colors of card stock.  I added some details with Copic Markers.  When the card was pieced together, I gave it a splatter of white acrylic paint.

I decided to add a sentiment to this card.  It is from the Doggie Naughty set.    I added some bright ribbon with a vintage button.  Stickles were added to the flowers for a bit of sparkle.
Thank you for stopping by today!

Whimsy Stamps New Release

Hello!
It's that time of the month again for Whimsy Stamp's new release. I know I say this every release, but this one is absolutely awesome! This card was created using the new Coneflower Frame Die. I cut it from water color paper and used my Zig Clean Color Water Color Markers.  The frame was given a coating of crackle paste and rubbed with brown ink.  A bit of sewing machine stitching and some tulle finished the card off.
Pop on by the Whimsy Stamp's store to see the full release!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy weekend to you!
I hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! I am not Irish, but I love joining in on the festivities. :)
If I'd had my act together, I would have posted this Friday....but.... I didn't. But better late than never I suppose!
This slimline card uses Whimsy Stamp's Shenanigans Word Die and Shadow.  Clovers from the Shenanigans Lassie Die set.   The background was done with Texture paste, gold embossing powder and the Slimline Shamrocks background die.  I love how puffed up it stayed!  A bit of string and few pearls finish the card off.

Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for stopping!

Invaded by Bees!

Hello!
Have you seen this new stamp set by Whimsy Stamps?  It is called Bizzy Bees! AND it comes with coordinating dies. I had to color all of them, but left two out for a later card.  I used the Slimline Honeycomb die for the background.
Behind the blue you will see a subtle honeycomb pattern.  I used the Honeycomb Drips Stencil to create some interest to the background.  Some tulle, ribbon, and a scattering of clear sequins finished the card.
BEE sure to stop over at Whimsy Stamps! (Sorry, couldn't help myself! LOL)

Bunny Shaker Card!

Hello friends!
I am home today on an "E-Learning" day due to the impending snow storm we are supposed to get. ;) It is nice staying in my PJ's and not driving into work.
I had this vision for my card today of my bunny diving into an ice cream, carrot, sundae! I am not sure it came out exactly the way I thought it would, but I think I still like it. I used Whimsy Stamp's Bunny Butt die.  I added glossy accents and pink flock. I created a shaker ice cream soda using the Frosty Glass Die set.  The inside of the shaker uses the sentiment from the Easter Sentiments stamp set.  The Confetti mix I used is retired, but I linked one similar down below.
I really wanted a carrot as part of the ice cream, so I created my own from card stock.  I cut the top with scissors and added twine.
So what do you think? Too much? Too busy?
Have a great day my friends!!

Vintage Style

Hello friends!
Today I have a card using Whimsy's new Slimline Stardust Die.  When I first started cardmaking, I loved creating with a vintage style.  Somehow I kind of got away from that, but today decided it was time to revisit that style.  I used Gesson to adhere old book paper to a white piece of cardstock.  It mutes the colors, like a white wash. Once it was dry, I used the Slimline Stardust die.  I then splattered it with black water color, used my sewing machine for the edges, and distressed the edges with scissors. I used Tim Holtz Foundry Wax in Gilded for the edges.
I used the stars to create a flower. They were cut from water color paper and given a wash of pink. The Gilded Foundry Wax was used on the edges and heat set.  I stacked them and added a vintage button to the center.  The leaves are from the Wild Weeds Die set. Those were also cut from water color paper and given a wash of greens with Foundry wax on the edges.  The sentiment is part of the Acts of Kindness stamp set.   Tulle was tucked in behind my stars and a scattering of black sequins from my stash.
It was fun going vintage on this one!
Be sure to check out Whimsy's full release! The next release is coming out in a few days. :)
