Best Fishes!

Good morning to you!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I spent the better part of mine crafting, doing laundry, and visiting with Brian's Gram.  (She just turned 93!) April is speeding to an end and I have to start thinking about Cort's prom next week, Kyle's spring dance, and my girl's 18th birthday.  Plus the school year is starting to wind down and soon I will have to get report cards out, my room packed up, and finish up all of those IEP's.

As I was crafting and finishing up assignments for Northridge Publishing, I had a moment where I sat back and recognized how lucky of a gal I am.  I adore my Cricut and challenging myself to create something different and unique.  And although, I may not always accomplish that, I get to play, experiment, and have fun trying! So today, I am sharing a card I created for the Quick and Easy magazine.
I used Life's a Beach to create this fun, goldfish shaped card.  I added lots of glitter, clear dew drops, ribbon, and tulle. I added silver Flower Soft at the bottom to emulate rocks.
I adore how Northridge photographs our projects.  They truly do a beautiful job.  The picture above is my photo from home.  (Drab and boring right?) The two below are Northridge's.  It's like the card got an instant makeover!
It's amazing how adding a few props can make a card come alive!
I am off and running to start my day!
Hope you have a great Monday!

JustRite's New Release-Summer Words!

JustRite has another new release that I absolutely adore! It is perfect for graduations, Father's Day, etc that are rolling in around the corner! It is called Summer Words. I should have made a graduation card as I do have a few to celebrate in the near future, but somehow my creative mind leads me astray at times! I ended up with this beach inspired card,(created with my Cricut and Life is a Beach Cartridge) complete with flip flops and all! I used JustRite's Summer Words to stamp the sentiment in orange.  I cut it out with a Spellbinder's circle and did a bit of airbrushing in a pale pink.
I added a double bow, twine, and a couple of fun stick pins to finish it off!
Love this set.....it is so darn versatile!!!
Be sure to visit the other designer's blogs.....they have showcased this fun set beautifully!

Thank you so much for all of the kind words about Cort's prom.  It truly was a magical night and one that will continue to be a wonderful memory!

Hello Thursday! (Even if it IS Friday!)

Good morning and happy Friday to you! The weather here in Chicago has been unbelievable! It was in the low 80's yesterday, which is totally unheard of for this time of year! I am so enjoying breaking out the capri pants and not having to bundle Cortney up every morning!

It is that time of the month when Provo Craft releases their new Cricut Cartridges.  I had the pleasure of working with Paper Dolls Teen Scene.  What a fun cartridge this is!  I decided to go with the summer theme and create a beach girl.  I gave her a bit of depth with Copic markers and pink chalk for her cheeks. Her  surf board was cut at 5" using the Life's A Beach cartridge.
I  created  the sand with vintage tissue paper that I had in my stash.  I wrapped it around the bottom of the card and added a bit of real sand to it.  Once again, my card is a bit "poofy", but I guess I like "poofy" cards! ; ) I added a little beach ball, sentiment, twine, and a seashell from the top of a stick pin.
Be sure to check out the Cricut Blog to see the other fabulous cartridges and what the other designers have created!
I will be hosting a giveaway this weekend, so be sure to pop on by for a visit!
Have a great day! : D
