Introducing JustRite's Newest Set........

JustRite has come out with some FABULOUS new sets and I am so excited to share one of them with you today! It is called Kaleidoscope. It is a versatile set that would work for any occasion. Since there is no coloring....only stamping with these images, it makes creating a card much quicker! I used Papertrey Ink's Hibiscus Burst and Hawaiian Shores ink. I paired it up with paper from My Mind's Eye. The circles and large flower die are from Spellbinders. The ribbon is also Papertrey Ink! Did you know you can preorder the JustRite sets? Click HERE for more info! : )

JustRite will be revealing new sets for the next 5 days.......it started yesterday....so make sure you check the JR blog for all the info!

I am heading to Gram's this morning to clean a bit.....then coming home to prepare for a get together with my Mom for her birthday......so busy, busy!!! Sun is shining, temps in the 60's......ahhhhhhhh....life is good!

Have a great day!!!

It Feels Like Summer......

The last few days here in Chicago have felt like the middle of June. Temps in the 80's and the sun shining! We have a mentoring program at my school, and the teachers and their student flew kites after school. None of these kids have ever flown a kite before, especially living in an age where electronics have taken over! The kids had a blast, and it was such an awesome experience to see 13 kites up in the air! Damn me, for not taking any pics!

My card today is definitely inspired by the warmer temps.....it has juicy Popsicle like colors.....orange and hot pink! The papers are by Papertrey Ink and K & Company. I used the Spellbinders in an opposite way than I normally use them. I cut into each matte, each matte having a smaller circle. I lined the 3 mattes up, largest circle on top, and each one under it gets smaller. This is the effect you get!

The Daisy is from the JustRite's My Garden and Border's set. It was colored with Copics several times, cut out, and the various layers placed on pop dots. And since none of my cards are safe from glitter.....this one was no exception! LOL!
Busy weekend ahead.....once again! I am back at Gram's again tomorrow morning to clean, then hosting a tiny get together for my mom's birthday. Sunday, I need to catch up at home a bit. Do my laundry, clean, and spend some time with the kids.
What are your plans?
Thanks for stopping by.....I love your visits!!!

Sassy!

Last summer I captured this cute photo of my nephew, Alex. I had edited this photo about a year ago when I took Jessica Sprague's Photoshop class. I added the digital stamp, "Sassy" directly to the photo. One year later, I decided to scrap this picture based on the colors in the "stamp." Noel's kit, Sonoma County worked perfectly! The large yellow piece was a scrap from another LO, that I couldn't bare to throw away! So instead it created a sort of "window" for the photo. I used lots of flowers here.....Prima, Making Memories, and some punched flowers that I created.

The cute clay button is by Tessa Ann! (LOVE her buttons!)
And here is a TIP for you! If you like adding ribbon or twine to a LO, but don't like it shifting around, use a hole punch to create a notch at the top and bottom like I did here. It will keep the ribbon/twine in one place!

Don't forget, tomorrow is the pre-order date for Noel Mignon's, "Playdate" kit! It is going to fly off the shelves.....so ya better grab your quick! : )

My van is once again in the shop.......for an entirely new ramp, motor, and "track," The rust was so bad (And my van is a 2004 only) that the entire track has to be removed and replaced. Poor Cort will be stuck at home for 2 days, since I have no vehicle to transport her! Good thing the weather here is beautiful! We'll just have to take some walks outside!
My school is raising money for the American Cancer Society, and today is Cubs/Sox day. The kids wear their favorite Chicago team apparel and pay 50 cents to the ACS. We are doing 2 weeks of activities to raise money. This summer I will be doing the cancer walk with my fellow teachers. It is for a good cause AND we have a blast doing it! I am so blessed to have a job I love and co-workers who have become friends!

Tie Dye Easter Eggs!

The current challenge over at Noel Mignon is to use exactly 8 manufacturers on a LO! I used Crate paper, Jillibean Soup, My Mind's Eye, American Crafts letter stickers, Papertrey Ink buttons, K & Company photo corners, Sassafrass flower, and Martha Stewart Flowers. I used this year's Easter egg coloring pics! Now, let me just tell you, Brian and I had painted alllllllll day in our bedroom. It was about 9 o'clock in the evening and super pooped! But it is tradition....Kyle still wanted to color the eggs. And I know that by next year or the year after that, he may not want to color eggs anymore. So we did our egg dying........and enjoyed carrying on this tradition! (Even if I did have toothpicks propping up my eyelids! LOL!)
For most of the LO, I used Noel's sold out Sonoma County kit. Have you seen the sneaks of her newest kit, Playdate? Super cute! Super fun! And it is up for pre-order on the 15th!!! I just got mine today and let me tell you.........pure cuteness!!!

Have a great Tuesday!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit!!! And today is my mom's birthday! Happy birthday MOM!!! Smooches and hugs!

Moxie Fab Sketch Challenge!

I have one more card to share with you using THIS sketch from the Moxie Fab blog! I decided on this image from the Crafty Secret's Coffee and Tea set. I love the retro feel of this set and paired it up with papers that felt a bit retro to me! The image was colored with Copics and I added a black scalloped border at the bottom. : ) And since my cards always feel "naked" with a ribbon.....I had to add one! : )

Time to "Make the Doughnuts!" (AKA: Go to work!) Have a great one! Sorry for the short post today!
