Happy Easter Crafty Secret's Style!

These are two cards I made using Crafty Secret's products. The chick is from the Cotton Scraps. The crackle background was by SU! I added some ribbon, stick pin, jewelry tag, and bead.
This second image used Crafty Secret's Cotton scraps. I created the background using my new Scor-Pal. I used a vintage flower and another stick pin. I also used pearls for the corners. Paper is by SU!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!!

Treehouse Stamp's New Releases!

Ashley and Kristen over at Treehouse Stamps have been working like crazy getting new sets out every Friday this month. Check out the store for the newest releases! This card was made with Quiet Moment's stamp set. In this set you also get the little girl fishing. I colored the image in with my Prismas and Gamsol. All of the paper has been in my stash for quite a long time, as well as the tag and brad! Wouldn't this be a cute birthday card for a little boy? I will have some more samples soon!

*** Has anyone else been having trouble with Blogger? I can't seem to add a page element. I have been missing that button for weeks now and I am quite aggravated about it!

Crafty Secrets and I've been tagged!

Here is another Crafty Secret's card I created for my month as guest designer. This was actually a quick card for me! The image was from the seasonal booklet. The paper is Basic Grey's Two Scoops. I added fibers through the button and some Dew Drops and Voila! It was about a 20 minute card......which if you know me well enough is a WORLD RECORD! LOL!

I was tagged by Terri a few days ago. I am supposed to list 7 random facts about myself. I have played before, so I am trying to dig a bit, cuz to be quite honest, I am NOT that interesting!

1. I graduated from college and got married in the same month! (Almost 15 years ago!)
2. I played basketball one year, cheer leading one year, band for 3 years, and show choir for one year in high school.
3. I met Brian my sophomore year in high school at the local Burger King where he asked for my number. Me being 16 and stupid, gave it to him. He had just graduated high school. Since I knew my mom would never let me date a college guy, I lied about his age. I told her he was a senior. She actually didn't find out about it until about the 5th year of marriage!
4. We bought our first house from Brian's great aunt.
5. I have never been out of the country.
6. At one point I had 3 dogs!
7. My first year of teaching, I taught in a cross categorical room otherwise known as the behavior disorder room! IT was quite a challenge, but I was hired shortly after for a regular teaching position.

SEE? I told you I was BORING!
Hugs to all of you!

My First Attempt at Soldering!

I have to admit, I got sucked right into the whole Inchie craze! Thanks to the wonderfully talented Debbie Olsen and Ellen Hutson. Debbie has been doing some soldering with tiny images, microscope slides, and the soldering tools. I used to make jewelry a lot.....but as you know there are only so many hours in the day! So jewelry making has taken a back seat to cards and scrappin! But when I saw this.....well it was right up my alley! Jewelry AND stamping.....TOGETHER?!! So I purchased the entire soldering kit from Ellen Hutson's store. My mind is crazy with ideas for this! But I had to start somewhere...... and here it is! My first soldered piece is a bookmark. I am hoping to make some cute necklaces for Cort and her friends. But let me just tell ya....it is WAY harder than it looks! The first piece I tried to make ended up in the garbage! It is a bit tricky, and I know I need to practice..... A LOT! The paper was Creative Imaginations and Memory Box. The cute little Lollipop is a sneak peek at Treehouse stamps new release coming out soon! I colored it in with my Copics and added a bit of glitter with my Sakura gelly roll pen. The word, sweet was stamped using my snap stamps.
I know there are some imperfections, and I need to practice.....but I think I have found a new love!
Have a great day Everyone!!!!! : )

BBTB Challenge AND a new set of wheels for Cort!

The challenge over at Bitten By the Bug, was to use the Doodlecharms, bunny cut. I cut her out in pink and cut the shadow in black. I used my sewing machine to stitch the two together. I added some googly eyes, eyelashes, whiskers, and Doodlebug flowers. (Hey what a coincidence! Doodlecharms cartridge, Doodlebug flowers.....Yes, I am a weird gal at times! LOL) Anywhoo, the paper is by Memory Box. The scalloped paper is by Creative Imaginations. I've had this black paper clip forever and finally used it up! I stamped the sentiment with Karen Foster's Snap Stamps.
If any of you read my blog on a regular basis you may know that Cortney needed a new wheelchair. The old one she had since the age of 5. And yes she will be 13 soon! We ordered it back in September of 2007! It is a pretty extensive process because we needed to write letters of medical necessity and get approval from the insurance. The vendor met with Cort's therapist to find a chair suitable for her needs. We made a list, submitted it, got approval, and the chair was ordered. In November, I got a call saying it was ready to be delivered. Well.... the minute the vendor brought the chair in the door, I did a big, "Uh OH!" EVERYTHING we had ordered for her was completely WRONG! Down to the color and EVERYTHING! IT was a huge disaster and the chair had to go back! So I proceeded to call the manager, and we had a 3 way conversation on the phone about what was wrong and how this was going to be corrected. The manager apologized and gave me his word that it would be corrected. IT was supposed to be in by the end of January. I gave it until Feb. 13th and then I called. I wasn't able to get a hold of the manager for a couple of days. So I called HIS boss. She called the next day to inform me.........the chair had NEVER been ordered! "WHAT?!!!" Are you freaking kidding me?" Needless to say, I was livid!!! Everyone had passed the buck to someone else and it never got ordered. She assured me it would be taken care of. A new vendor came out to remeasure her (Cuz it HAD been many months since the original measurement) and then order the chair. FINALLY, this past Friday she got it! The new vendor spent lots of time making sure it fit her correctly and thankfully it does! Of course that night after giving Cort a bath I asked her what she wanted to do.....She stated, "Watch a video......in my OLD chair!" LOL!
No long lengthy stories about my guy. Just the usual 11 year old stuff.....happy one minute, and crabby the next......gotta love puberty kicking in! HE is still pretty cute though........

Thanks for visiting me today and reading my long tale of woe! : )

I 've been tagged by Terri.....I will post tomorrow, since I have rambled enough for one night!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I created this St Pat's decoration for Crafty Secret's. I used the image from the Joys of Life Booklet (Crafty Secret's). I also used paper from our Earthy Paper Pad and punched 4 little green hearts to create the shamrock. I also did some beadwork and added Dew Drops to the edges.

Hope everyone has a wonderful St. Patrick's Day!
