A Sketch Challenge!

For all of you moms out there who have more than 2 children......my hat goes off to you! I know that I am running, baking, cooking, chasing like a mad woman everyday with the 2 kids I have. How do you do it when you have 3, 4, 5 etc, children? Live in your car? LOL! Seriously, these last couple of weeks are just keeping me on my toes! I try to slow done, take a deep breath and appreciate it. Before I know it, the house will be quiet and the messes will be gone.....

Anyway, I was finally able to squeeze in a challenge over at 2 Sketches 4 You! It is a wonderful place for inspiration, but it seems I never have time to participate. I chose this Lockhart stamp because I needed to build a stash of get well cards. You never know when you need them! I stamped the slippers on 2 separate pieces of DP, cut them out and layered them. I added a pearl as a finishing touch.

The paper I used was pink patterned SU!, Lasting Impressions (distressed white) and Making Memories. It had a bit of a vintage feel to it. I had a scrap of ribbon that had both pink and blue in it and matched perfectly! I tied a SU! button and floss to the ribbon. I also found a jar of cream colored Primas and used that for the upper right hand corner.

It is Friday again!!! Cort has cheerleading tomorrow (Don't worry I promised not to post anymore pics of her! : ) and a Superbowl party on Sunday. And at some point I probably need to fit some laundry, light dusting (Ok.......HEAVY dusting), and maybe clean a toilet or two.......
On that note......HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!

Toot!

What a busy last few days! Kyle joined basketball, and between his and Cort's schedules, we don't get in the house until 9 PM. Then there's baths, homework.......

Anyway, just a short little post tonight.......I had to share my excitement with you! I have been officially published for the 2nd time! For those of you who have been published many, many times, does that euphoric feeling stop happening? Does it get old after awhile? I sure hope not! It is a pretty cool thing to see your name in print! And what was even more exciting this time, is that my kids' pictures were in this project!

I created this last year for Valentine's Day of my two sweetie pies.

So there's my children's faces in print!
Thanks for letting me share with you!!!

Just Because.....

This past Friday night, the "Stampin Divas" got together. Simone brought a HUGE bag of stamps that some lady had given her for a buck a piece. So us gals, went crazy stamping! So I really don't know who makes these.....guess I should have payed better attention.... but I was in a frenzy over all the stamps! LOL! Anyway, I loved these cute little dog images and stamped a bunch of them. I colored them in with my Copics and cut each piece out. I wanted to create my "scene."

I added gold micro beads to create "food" for my little dog!

The little bone was a stamp too......crystal lacquered it and cut it out. Kind of cute attached to my button and bow.....

Since the dog looked like he was running after something, and hopefully NOT a car, I created a little ball for him to chase after!
Happy Hump Day!!!! (I woke up to 2 more inches of snow.........ugh.......is it June yet?!)

Oh the Places You'll Go!

My fellow DT member, Virginia, came up with a very clever Bookshelf Challenge. The idea was to use a children's book as inspiration for a LO. Cute right? So I decided on one of my son's favorite books when he was younger. It is by Dr. Seuss and it is called, Oh, the Places You'll Go! He and I used to read it quite a bit, when he was young enough to snuggle on my lap. (He is almost 12.......not as much snuggling going on........)

So I incorporated the circles, colors, and the title into my LO. I cut the circles using my Martha Stewart Circle cutter. I slipped my photo in there and added some bling to the circles. The title was printed on blue paper and hand cut. It was the most "Dr. Seussish font" I could find! LOL!
I am pleased with how it turned out.......a bit out of my comfort zone. If you would like to play along, head on over the Noel's blog to see what the other talented gals came up with!
Have a great day!!!

Ballerina Turned Cheerleader!

I know you are probably sick of me posting about the Jordan's cheerleading by now.......I just can't help myself!!! I promise this to be the last post about it......for awhile.

The other moms asked if I could make a thank you card for the man who organized this entire basketball/cheerleading/pizza party/game this past Saturday. He is a man from a local parish who, out of the kindness of his heart donates his time and money to our kids. So I figured it was the least I could do.

When I got home, though, I was struggling with what the heck I would stamp. I don't own any cheerleading stamps. (who does?!) But, I did have this Little Dancer set by Crafty Secrets. I had one of those "AH HA" moments! I thought, yea, I could make little tiny pom poms, and a skirt to match!!! (I know.......seek help......) So I started with some white tatting string and colored it red with my Copics. Then I folded it over itself many many times until it was full enough to look like a pom pom. I tied it at the end and took my scissors to cut the many loops I had created by folding it over. I did the same with the white, until I had itty bitty pom poms. I colored her in with Copics and had the darnedest time making a skirt for her. (I guess cuz her legs are really more in a dancing position.....) I know the skirt is a wee bit long for a cheerleader, but it was the best I could do. I used my oval Nestibility for her. I took my paper piercer and pierced holes in both her hands. I pushed the "handle" of the pom pom through the hole. I used pop dots while layering to allow for those "handles" in the back. The paper I used was by Crafty Secrets too and some white SU! The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. (Which I love because it fit so nicely on that jewelry tag!)

Hopefully that all made sense......it is still early here.......

Off to get ready for work. Thanks so much for taking your time out to visit me. Have a great Monday!!!!
