Glitter Magic and....... Blog Candy!

Good morning! As many of you know, JustRite holds a challenge every Friday! Today's challenge is to use glitter! Glitter? I LOVE glitter!!!! This one is right up my alley! So I went a bit crazy with a translucent glitter by Martha Stewart! This adorable snowman is part of the Vintage Christmas set. He was colored in with Copic colors: G20, YG03, C8, C3, R37, B0000, R00, and my Colorless Blender. I added Crystal Lacquer to his nose and buttons. I layered the image using my circle and scalloped Spellbinder's dies. I added lots and lots of glitter using my Sakura Glue pen! The paper is by K & Company, the ribbon is from Michaels, and the button is by Bazzill.

After using so much glitter I have been walking into my classroom each morning quite sparkly! LOL!
Be sure to check out the JustRite Blog for more glittery inspiration!!!

Stir Up Some Fun!

Wednesday already? And September 1st? Time continues to fly by! Before you know it, fall will be here and Halloween just around the corner. It is raining here today.....which was much needed, and the temps are supposed to cool off a bit. Thank goodness, because my classroom thermostat has been reading well over 90 degrees! Too hot to concentrate and learn!

I have a Crafty Secret's card to share with you today. I used the new Halloween set called, Costume Cuties. I love this cutie pie witch. She was colored with Copics, and translucent glitter was added to her hat and cauldron. I used my circle Spellbinders to cut her out, left the die in place and airbrushed in orange, red, and yellow. The paper is by Basic Grey (DP), Papertrey Ink (cream) , and Bazzil. (green)

I added a few beads to my bat pin.........
I noticed my counter is nearing 100,000.......which should have been 200,000......the last time it hit 1o0,00, the whole counter cleared and I had to start back at zero! UGH! So it isn't really accurate.....but it's all good. So what does this mean? I think BLOG CANDY is long overdue. It has been quite some time since I've done a giveaway. Be sure to check back tomorrow!
Have a FABULOUS Wednesday!

Pure Joy!

Good morning! Noel Mignon is hosting a new Fall Trend's challenge! This time it was a color challenge based on THIS picture. Love all the Earth tones in the photo. I decided to scrap these photos of Kyle riding a horse this summer while we were at French Lick, Indiana. (Yes, that is a real place....I didn't make it up! LOL) And if you look closely you will see his dorky Mama (me) next to him on the horse with my helmet on. (I have to be a responsible parent don't I and set a good example?) I used Noel's newest kit, Sweet Sue. (only 12 left!) I did use my Cricut machine to cut the title and the circle as well as Glimmer Misting the background. The stars are SU! punches.

This stick pin, which I believe is Maya Road, was originally clear, I stained it with brown alcohol ink. It fits the mood of the page better, than if I had left it clear.
Here is the envelope that houses my journaling.
And here is my son, without his helmet, on the first day of school. 8th grade. Sheesh. Seriously, where did the time go? Watching children grow is so bittersweet.
Be sure to check the other DT gal's work! They are sure to knock your socks off! I hope you have some time this week to play along! I'd love to see what you created based on these awesome fall colors!

Enjoying Summer's Last Offerings!

I have to admit.....fall is my favorite time of the year. But summer is a close runner up! I love sitting outdoors listening to the cicadas buzz, watching my kids swim in the pool, BBQ's, Corona Beer, taking walks with my family for ice cream, and just feeling the sun on my face. I am always a bit sad to see summer go, so while the warm temps are still lingering my family and I have been taking advantage of the pool and grilling some tasty steaks on the grill. : )

I have a summer inspired card to share with you today. It is a new Crafty Secret's set called Bathing Beauties. I love this new set! I chose to stamp the lady on the surfboard and colored her with Copics and added glitter to the water. I used various Spellbinder's dies and layered them. I used foam circles between layers for added dimension. I also use lots of navy and Kraft papers. I hand sewed the perimeter of the card in navy thread and added pearls to the corners.
I added bronze Stickles to the edges of my Spellbinder die cuts. It gave the papers a glittery, yet rustic feel.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Monday!!!! : )
