Wish I were by the Ocean.....and a Grand Opening!

Last week Darlene hosted Crafty Secret's Challenge to make a "Summer" card. So what better set than to use than their Seaside set. I stamped directly on the tag and then colored the image in with my Prismas and Gamsol. I distressed the edges using Old Paper ink. The paper is also by Crafty Secrets. I sanded that down to distress it a bit. I tied some cream colored floss around the end of the tag and added this little starfish to it.

If you live anywhere near Arlington Heights, IL stop by this weekend for Craft Fancy's GRAND OPENING!! There will be Make 'n Takes and demonstrations going on both days! This store is packed with all kinds of brand new products!!! I will be helping out on Sunday, so stop on by and say, "Hello!"

Well, wish me luck......I might be getting my van back today.....keeping my fingers crossed!!! I am so tired of feeling stranded!!! (Otherwise it is a looooooooong walk to ARlington Heights! LOL)

Simple Pleasures

I have been trying to learn more about my Adobe Photoshop....and experiment with my photos. I learned recently, how to use the gradient tool and add text on top of that. I loved this photo of my son blowing bubbles with his cousin. (Alex's page is a couple of posts down.) I did my journaling right on the photo! I was so pleased with how it turned out! I used Noel Mignon's Hopscotch Kit. It has tons of yummy papers and embellishments in there! (There is only one left in her store.....so hurry!) This clear Hambly transparency was part of the kit and I wanted to make sure I didn't cover it up! OF course trying to photograph it was a bit tricky. This LO also fit Greta's and Simone's Scrap Your Crap challenge. You were to use multiple shaped papers on a LO.

Still with no car! 3 days....feels like 3 months! Hate the feeling of being stranded! I sure have walking a lot though....maybe I will lose a few pounds. I just found out that the mobility place never undercoated my van.....gee, could be why the entire underneath is a huge rusty mess! I need a limiting strap replaced, and there is still some question about the axle. The body shop is supposed to look at it tomorrow. (For those of you new to my blog, I have a ramp van for my disabled daughter). So......maybe I will get the car back tomorrow......

Brain Wave Challenge!

I know I've asked this question before.....does anyone know why this dang picture is so dang tiny? Anyone?

Anywhoo, This is a very teeny tiny picture of Treehouse's newest Wednesday Brain Wave Challenge. I really liked this sketch! I used one of Treehouse's newest sets called Lovely Lilies.
I recently purchased these gorgeous papers from Papertrey Ink and had to use them! I stamped the image 3 times and matted the middle one using my Nestibilities. I added a pretty buckle and photo corners to finish off the card. If you get a chance visit the other DT blog's to see what they have created!

Sweet 'n Sassy!

Here is Sweet Gretchen from Sweet 'n Sassy! I colored her in with Copics. The paper was bought from Noel Mignon's store. It is Melissa Frances paper. For some reason, in the photo, the circle behind the sentiment doesn't appear to match the ribbon, but it does in real life! The pink paper and ribbon is from Papertrey Ink.

Just a quick post today! My van is officially in the shop today. The adjuster came out today, but I haven't gotten any news yet on whether or not the repairs will be under warranty. So I may not have wheels for awhile......*sigh*

Discover

Virginia, who is a DT member for Noel Mignon created last week's sketch challenge. I loved working with the sketch because it took some of the thinking away! I had these adorable pictures of my sweet nephew from last year. Most of the paper was from Noel's store with the addition of some Martha Stewart paper and some DCWV glitter paper. I added the title, my journaling strips, and a few borders from Making Memories. Head on over to Noel's Store to see her newest kits, Cotton Candy and the Getaway Kit! I will be posting samples from those kits later this week!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
