My First Challenge!

I am hosting a color challenge over in the Sweet 'n Sassy Forum. The colors are Soft Sky, Red Riding Hood Red, and Very Vanilla....or anything pretty close to that! I used the new set by Sweet 'n Sassy called Warm Up. I love anything related to coffee, hot chocolate, or tea! It just reminds me of winter and being all cozy and buttoned up in the house. If you decide to participate....and I hope you do....post your card at SCS with the code: SNSCC04 for a chance to win this adorable set! The winner will be announced on November 7th.
A little liquid applique to make my cappuccino extra "frothy!"

Don't these colors just SCREAM retro?!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Blog Hop Day Four!

Today is day four of Sweet 'n Sassy's blog hop! I decided to use the large and small snowflakes from this set. I stamped the smaller snowflakes on kraft cardstock and embossed them in white. Don't they just look so soft and delicate? I stamped the large snowflake on pink paper and heat embossed that with sparkly pink embossing powder. I hand cut it out and added a rhinestone to the center. I stamped the sentiment and used my Nesties to cut out the oval. I added some vintage cream ribbon and some Papertrey Ink silver ribbon on top. The bottom blue scallop was cut using Martha Stewart's border punch. Stop on over to Korin, Christie, and Janette's blogs to see their sneaky peeks!
And thanks so much for all the love yesterday!!! I always come home from work and look forward to reading your nice comments......it makes my day! (Sad, aren't I? LOL!)

Sweet 'n Sassy's Blog Hop!

Today is day 3 of Sweet 'n Sassy's Blog Hop! Today is mine and Sandy's day. I am using this gorgeous snowflake set! There are a variety of different snowflakes as well as sizes! I will be posting another card tomorrow using a large snowflake. The paper is vintage music paper and SU! I scored Kraft cardstock and stamped 5 snowflakes in white craft ink and then sprinkled white embossing powder. I sponged the edges and sprinkled more EP to give it a "winter window" effect. The circles were cut using my Nesties. The felt flower/snowflake is SU! Check out the other ladies' creations using the new sets here! (Scroll down past the pic of my dog!)

***** and just a quick update on Cortney. She is finally healing! YEA! The sore seems to be getting smaller and less red. She is still on the antibiotic for 7 more days. I so appreciate your well wishes and sweet e-mails. My sweet girl had cheerleading again tonight. I wish you could see her waving her little pom poms around and saying, "G-O!" She will be getting her cheerleading uniform in a few weeks. The colors are red and white. Who will she be cheering? The special ed kids' basketball team. How stinking cool is that?

My Lil Devil & Some Last Minute Halloween....

This little guy's name is actually Skippers (Kyle named him), but his name really should have been: Trouble, Mischief, or Lil' Devil! He has to be the cutest dog ever with the most loving personality He truly has stolen my heart! (And pocketbook!) I actually bought him a winter coat and Halloween T-shirt. I might even book him for a doggy "spa" day...................sick, I know. I really need help..........seriously.......

I finally had a few moments to create for this week's Bitten by the Bug site. This week's challenge was to the use the Nutcup from the Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge. OF course, somehow I missed the part where it was supposed to be Christmas related.........and I am a teacher.....so sad! Yep, I am the only one with a Halloween Nutcup! I used the Crafty Secrets' Halloween set and Cosmo Cricket paper.
And one final thing.....Sweet 'n Sassy is having their blog hop this week! My day will be on Wednesday.....but you have to join in the fun NOW!

New Home Sweet Home Kit!

Noel Mignon has such a knack for putting these awesome little scrappy kits together!!! They are not only filled with all sorts of papers that coordinate together (And not necessarily from the same manufacturer), but also such cool embellishments! So many of them are vintage or "found" items....which is right up my alley! This LO was created with her latest kit called, Home Sweet Home. This kit will be sold on October 27th. The only item that was not in the kit was the Jenni Bowlin Bingo card. (Although I did get that from Noel's store too!). This is a picture of my son helping his dad plant flowers for the brand new pond we installed this summer. I love that he loves to be outside and do things with us. (He is almost 12 you know! So I cherish these days, cuz I know they are fleeting!) Head on over to Noel's Message Board to see the sneak peeks and join a great community of scrappers! These ladies are so much fun!
***And for those of you who have been so sweet with your concern about Cortney, I wanted to give you an update. (And thank you !) I got a call on Saturday from the doctor. The preliminary results showed that she did not have a staph infection. Later that morning when Cort finally decided to wake up, I went in to change her bandages and her foot looked pretty red and swollen. I called the doc back and they told me to bring her in right away. They then placed her on an oral antibiotic. Let me just say this about the pill........it is a friggin HORSE pill! I have never seen such a huge pill! Poor thing has to take it with her pudding. She makes a few faces while taking it.....
I am not sure if her foot looks much better today......I will check her in the morning and if things don't look any better, I am going to take her back to the doctor. Again, thanks. It is comforting to know that people are so caring.......
