A Pie Box All Gussied Up!

Good morning!

When I moved this past February I rediscovered some a lot of stuff that had been pushed back into corners.  Does that happen to you?  Too many corners for things to hide? ;)

I found these pie boxes by Sizzix and thought they would be perfect with Whimsy Stamp's Peony dies.  

I am a total sucker for flowers.  And pies. :)

I cut the flowers with water color paper and used my Zig Clean markers to add some vibrant color. 

I attached the flowers and leaves with foam tape. I added ribbon, rhinestones, and a few teeny flowers I had in my stash. 

The sentiment is from the Penguin Gardener set.  It was stamped on black paper with Versamark ink and white embossing powder.

Rainbow Flower Background!

Hello! And welcome to another creation using products from Whimsy Stamps! 

I have a bit of an addiction to flowers.  Flower stamps. Flower dies. Silk flowers, fake flowers, real flowers.....well you get the idea! 

I used the Peony Flower die in a loose rainbow pattern.  I adhered them to white cardstock and cut off anything that was hanging off of the edges. 

I popped up the flowers and added coordinating rhinestones for the centers.  The sentiment was part of the Penguin Gardener set.  (See sets below) It was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. It was a pretty fast card to make and I love how dimensional it came out.  Kind of begs to be touched doesn't it?

Same Card Different Colors....

Good morning and happy weekend to you!

I have been loving this spool cut from Silhouette again! I had previously used it and kind of "rediscovered" it in my stash of cuts. 

I love how simply changing the colors of a card, changes the entire look of it! I went for bright and happy in today's color scheme.  My flower was cut using Papertrey Ink dies and given a water color wash.  The leaves are cut using the Silhouette and given a generous amount of lime green glitter.  I once again added an SRM sticker for my sentiment.

*****And just a quick update on my tooth situation!  I had the back molar removed and the experience was way more traumatic than I thought it would be. Novocain kept wearing off, and instead of having two roots, like most normal people, I had four.  Yep, a total over achiever! HA!  I was in fairly bad shape on Thursday, but I am feeling much better today.  (Thank goodness!)  I go back next week to have the stitches removed.

I had a bit of time yesterday, on my day off, to play around with supplies that I recently rediscovered while cleaning my craft room.  I have a huge stash of felt flowers and never seem to use them anymore. I had this idea that they would look cute tucked under something.

I cut my designer paper (Doodlebug circa old!) on an angle and popped it up with dimensional foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  I then tucked and glued my flowers in place.  I used another Dear Lizzy die cut.  I gave it a coating of glossy accents and glitter.  I adhered it in place.  I added a few sequins as a finishing touch.

I have always been a girl who loves images. I love photography and have been fascinated with it since I can remember.  I think that is why I love Pinterest so much.  Yes, I love the content that is there, but more importantly, I am interested in how things were staged and then photographed! From food, clothing, animals, whatever the subject is.  I think it has helped improve my photography skills.  So I have been practicing on anything that doesn't fight back.  My poor pups are defenseless against the Nikon.  (And a yummy dog treat!)  

Flowers are another obvious choice. My son and I took a bike ride recently with camera in tow.  He was very patient as I took pictures from every possible angle.  

In 2014, this is what teens do when their moms are busy taking photos of flowers.  ;)

 

He usually hates his picture being taken, but a little bribery and I was able to get one shot!

Guest Designer for Silhouette!

Good morning again!  This is my second post today! If you are looking for my Scrapbook Adhesives 3L post, scroll down below. 

I am excited to be a guest designer for Silhouette!

 With the end of the school year fast approaching, I needed teacher gifts quickly! I used the 3D Mason Canning Jar Box by Lori Whitlock, Doodlebug papers and lots of glitter and dimensional foam circles.

I added a bit of raffia to the top and added a pretty 3d Orchid from Jamie Cripps. Stickles were added to the flower to give it a bit of sparkle. I bought some gourmet cookies, packaged them in glassine bags, and topped it with a doily. The box was a perfect size for them! 

I copied the mason jar cut and created a new layer. I added a rectangle to the center so I could create a shaker box. Just add the transparency behind it, some dimensional adhesive, sequins, and one more layer of the canning jar to create a fun interactive box!
